  1. Ah alright. I'm still a little skeptical since I'm not aware of GTA IV properly detecting Crossfire or SLI setups, but I don't have an Intel hexacore, and have no idea how many threads GTA IV can use, so I can't really say.
  2. That video's amazing. lol I prefer anything he makes compared to any music video on MTV nowadays.
  3. Thing with that picture is that the handle bars on the bike look stretched and the upper part of the cops shirt isn't crisp in the picture while everything else is. It looks like it's been shopped to me. Who knows, though. Also plenty of overweight people join the academy and pass, so long as they can meet the test requirements. These people however, are morbidly obese, and got that way after they passed, as a couple of people pointed out earlier.
  4. Yeah I wouldn't recommend the criminal acts mod. They interfere with you on traffic stops and frisks.
  5. Not trying to troll here, but I highly doubt you run this or any game (unless it's on the Source engine) at 200fps. I have a 955BE (the 965BE is the same chip with a minor clock push) and a 570GTX and although I can play both BF3 and GTA IV on high everything, frames aren't anywhere near there. I also believe GTA IV has a frame rate cap matching a standard refresh rate. I'm just curious since we have the same CPUs and you said you don't run SLI or Crossfire. Not to mention those older AM3 motherboards don't support triple channel RAM.
  6. If you respect the laws, then you'll report it and move on. Nobody needs to get harassed, and nobody needs to get assaulted. Bullying is becoming a big deal these days because more kids are getting suicidal over it. Report it to a school administrator and your parents. Police are definitely an option, but I'd wait a bit before jumping the gun on that. People say a lot of crap on XBOX Live. They're all a bunch of kids on there anyway. That's why I play multiplayer games on PC in a private VOIP server.
  7. Regarding the mention of a country club: I think that's a normal park because I see benches lined up along a walk way all around the water, which would be unusual for a golf course. But I can only speculate. Someone who lives in the L.A. area could probably identify what it's "supposed" to be mimicking.
  8. Fellow YouTube GTA video producers: We've just been put on notice. Also found this little gem from the same guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=m-TWM8QyPe8
  9. The fact that they constantly get coffee at donut shops to stay awake during their 12 hour shifts, and the fat cops who piled on donuts along with their coffee gave them the bad stereotype. And Asunal that picture looks Photoshopped but it's still hilarious.
  10. In depth answer: Go to Wikipedia and read up on your town/county to see what percentages of ethnic groups there are. Base it off of that. Shot answer: Spanish. If North and South America reformed their native languages based on population, it would be Spanish.
  11. Then most people here must be "Mr. Patient" because most people don't create topics asking when the next version is coming out and what new features are there. I'm all for asking for a scrap now and then, but these threads are old and tired. There's a bunch of them, and people always get the same answers. My suggestion is to watch NB's videos and see the new features that way, rather than to have people vaguely describe them for you. As for what I can tell you; RC3 is mostly about bug fixes and polishing existing features. There is new content on the back burner. No immediate plans (that I know of) to add anything groundbreaking as of this writing. That's all that really can be, or needs to be said.
  12. Try to get the game working with JUST LCPD:FR alone, and then go from there. Extra mods like cars and random scripts make the game more and more unstable.
  13. Mod section, please.
  14. You'd have to play with other people who have the same mods as you. There's an official LCPD:FR multiplayer group if you search for it on the forum. However, LCPD:FR is not intended for multiplayer use at this point. It's unstable, especially with any other mods on top. I don't recommend it. The one time I played it was not fun, and there were no mods involved.
  15. This goes in the mod section, not random. Can we get a mod to move this?
  16. Looks good, but just an FYI: The radio cord is wrapped across the back with the radio piece you speak into ending up on the right shoulder. This is so you don't get tangled up as easily.
  17. We already have a thread for this. Please use it. Can a mod close this topic?
  18. 6600 series is not close to the 6700 series. Nothing under a 6750 is worth wasting money on. And your setup is pretty close to bottom shelf, actually. The Phenom architecture is three generations behind what AMD offers now and at a very low clock speed by today's standards (2.3ghz would have been relatively good in the year 2006). I don't want to put across that everybody has to blow $1000+ to get a game to run GTA IV at good settings, but this isn't Farmville. You need some above average computing muscle.
  19. A dual core would work, but a quad will future proof you, and there are already octo-cores in the wild from both Intel and AMD. For a video card? The minimum I'd invest money into would be either the AMD 6750/6770 or the nVidia GeForce 550. Bare minimum if you want the game to look halfway decent. Anything below those would be a waste of money. The nVidia 600 series is already in full bloom, and the 7000 series from AMD is out as well.
  20. Welcome mtonne. If I were you I'd change your system priorities a bit. The i5 CPU sounds about right, but I'd sacrifice RAM for a better graphics card if that's what you need to do to fit a budget. You don't need to spend $400 on a GPU, no, but anything under $150 (generally) is a waste of money as it won't perform well in games, so try to invest wisely. AMD cards usually cost less and give you comparable performance to a GeForce from nVidia, so you may consider something from AMD's Radeon series. Other than that, don't use XP. You'd be wasting the 6-8GB of RAM you planned on, since 32-bit operating systems can only read approximately 3.2GB. I'd generally recommend 6+ for a gamer, but if you have to sacrifice something, make it the RAM. Bump yourself to 4-6GB and use the money saved on a better graphics card.
  21. RC3

    Very welcome, sir.
  22. "End Game" should help out with the single player campaign. That's the focus of the final DLC pack next year. And as far as ARMA goes, I'll just say this; BF3 is realistic just as much as ARMA is a game. It is literally based off of an actual US Military combat simulator, and is packaged as a game. I don't consider it a video game at all. Battlefield 3 is a game that's packaged as a realistic combat experience. It's no substitute. I'll leave it at that.
