  1. Your partner may end up trying to get into a fist fight with people...
  2. Jesus that guy has NO idea how to disperse traffic... at all. That skin's pretty plain anyway. Most people on here could probably duplicate that pretty easily.
  3. Cool... lol Good luck.
  4. Only during idle standing around. If someone opens fire or poses a threat, then they fire at will.
  5. I never use AI partners because of this, and they're too slow to get into the car if someone drives off from me on a traffic stop. I work better alone.
  6. That was already talked about in that thread actually. But the G17 team has other priorities that are more important such as AI behavior and new things to do other than chases assaults and gunfights.
  7. We have a PC building thread already. It's pinned. Use it. Can a mod please close this topic?
  8. Like the skin. Post it up when it's finished since I live near Boston now.
  9. It's okay, it won't scale very well for other games. I hate to say it, but AMD is sucking pretty badly right now. Not only do they not have an answer for Kepler, but their CPUs have been well past the point of no return for years now. And this is coming from someone with a 955 Black Edition as his CPU. If you can front the cash, get a Kepler based nVidia card. If not, at least change the CPU to an Intel because that's going to bottleneck your performance for future games. Guild Wars 2 is a fantastic example of that if you go look up some benchmarks.
  10. So I guess that's why Will Smith's character went to Bel Air? Sorry, had to say it.
  11. The GPS will become useful for 3 major instances: 1.) An officer forgets to call out his last known position and is in trouble. 2.) No need to have a pursuing officer waste his time calling out suspect positions every 5 seconds on the radio. 3.) Location guidance.
  12. Despite being an old video, most of what Chris Rock says is true enough.
  13. Am I the only one that sees absolutely nothing happen when you use the command to call in a tow truck?
  14. Alright, after trying this out for a few days I'll give some more well informed feedback than my previous 'dude sweet, nice job' comment. lol So I know the intent here was to make something to compliment LCPD:FR but I feel that it sort of collides with it. As a few examples: -The resist arrest options conflict with the LCPD:FR script to the point that when I arrest someone and cuff them, they somehow turn around and punch me with the cuffs on, then stop being hostile after one punch. -The AI police don't chase people who are breaking the laws within your script, only ones breaking the LCPD:FR laws, so chases that might be fun with backup I end up having to do solo. -Recurring crashes, although that's to be expected with something new, so I won't really gripe about that. -Foot chases you assist in leave the AI officer sometimes as much as a block or two behind the suspect, making them near impossible to locate. Anyway, that's all for now. Good effort, and maybe some further tweaking can correct these problems.
  15. The blue's a little bit dark, but otherwise good quality. Did you upload the EMS vehicle textures too?
  16. Might wanna change that lime green to a dark pine green and put a sheriff's badge on it instead of a black and white shield, but other than that, nice job.
  17. It depends on the department. The local ones where I used to live preferred the Chargers since they had a similarly heavy body and identical performance. The new Chevy's are ugly and I've only seen a few of them, none of which locally. And I saw an Interceptor Taurus recently in my old hometown while driving through, one used by the Massachusetts State Highway Patrol, and an Interceptor SUV again used by the Mass. State Highway Patrol. I didn't notice them at first glance, and I almost made the mistake of passing the cop in the Interceptor SUV on the highway. lol
  18. You must live in a miracle city, general patrol police officers in many parts of the country here are just slightly above the poverty line ($26,000 per year) as a full timer. You'd be pulling in between $30,000 to $40,000 per year. If you're a higher rank and did a bunch of overtime and extra work details you might make $50,000 or $60,000. The only way to get anywhere above that would mean you'd have to be a police chief or work as a higher level police officer, like a judicial policeman in D.C. These stats of course will vary by department, but it's well understood in the U.S. that the police do not make good money, and you apply for the job because you want to do the work, not because you want to get paid a good sum. As far as I'm concerned the only thing you're "all set for life" with is health and dental insurance. You're getting covered by Uncle Sam, so you and your family have that as a highlight benefit.
  19. Horrible graphics card, small hard drive. Everything else is fine.
  20. It's not THAT great. It didn't sell too well for a reason. It's essentially Left 4 Dead 2 without zombies. Just cops instead. L4D2 was done far better in my opinion.
  21. Equip a shotgun of any kind. If you get the jump on someone and you can't kill them with that, it's your aim, not any weapon being O.P. The only O.P. weapons as far as I'm concerned are the PDW type small arms, and maybe the MTAR. I can fight pretty much anything I want, and quite frankly if you played me in CQ for more than one round I know you'd be up here saying C4 or Claymores are overpowered instead of going off on the F2000. lol In CQ I could kill you for a whole round without even meeting you in direct combat. Anyway if you don't like those weapons in close range, then don't play CQ. Play the original maps with long distances like Operation Firestorm or something like that. And I liked Bad Company 2 but Battlefield 3 is an overall better game due to some improvements to an already great game.
  22. It's dependant on if the game engine is similar enough to work with, and if G17 is up to the tast to re-do everything they've already done, plus add more features. I'd say it's 50/50.
  23. We have a thread for this already, please use it. Requesting a close.
  24. Nothing, you don't have access to them. You can always try to call backup, target the person with a gun and then hit '3', but usually that ends up in a shooting, not an arrest. And you still don't get to remove them personally. You just have to hope the AI will do it for you.
  25. It'll be released when it's ready. There's already a million of these topics and the same response is given in each one. Can we close this please? And there has been no confirmation of a solid release date as of this writing.
