  1. Yes, look at pop culture today. Next thread please.
  2. Bill Gates likely hasn't written code in a decade or more.
  3. It's August. A lot is going to change before December. Don't waste time looking for stuff right now.
  4. Have you ever lifted a passenger seat out of a car? Stripping the back area out a car saves a ton of weight by itself along with skipping out on other luxuries. What is put back into the car is going to depend on the particular unit. The fact is without all of that crap stripped out, the performance would be worse. The new Tauruses are too small to fit a lot of things in the trunk now, including spike strips in some cases. My local department plans on switching to SUVs for all future car purchases.
  5. That's as gutted as it can get without removing things like the A/C. There are no luxuries to be had. No leather, no massage or heated seats, no advanced computer controls, everything is cloth & hollow plastic. Door and window controls are changed out as mentioned before. The only way to make them lighter would be to go Lamborghini style and compromise safety features and cut corners. Thinner glass for the windows, carbon fiber and aluminum body parts and panels, plastic engine cover. Not the best direction to go unless you live in the world of Need For Speed Rivals. :)
  6. Where in that paragraph that I wrote did I say that all wheel drive makes you stop faster? Right, nowhere. It gives you better grip and handling which is something you need since handling a car at high speeds can be twitchy, to put it lightly. All wheel drive could be the difference between sideswiping a barricade or skidding into a snow bank or missing it completely. Grip and control is the purpose of all wheel drive. And yes, police cars are stripped out compared to the civilian model. Have you ever been in an American one? Germany uses heavy Mercedes and BMW from what I've seen, so perhaps the cruisers where you live are heavy, but I live in America. And I've been in both a Ford CVPI and a Taurus Interceptor. The entire back seating area is nothing but plastic and Plexiglas on top of the metal floor. There are no interior door handles or window controls for the back section. The body is lightened, and the interior in front is bone stock with no additional comforts you might get from paying higher than the base retail price of a normal Ford Taurus. The Charger therefore should be no different. I can't envision the police riding around in a noise proof cabin on heated leather seats on full with an XM Satellite Radio blasting, whether it's a Dodge or not. Police cars have the bare minimum. A/C is necessary so people don't die of heat stroke, otherwise I'm sure that would be tossed away as well. The only thing that would make them heavier is the equipment you mentioned, which has no bearing as to whether the police car in question is good or not. All of the junk like spike trips, computers, overhead lights, assault rifles, medical bags and kevlar vests are going to be added to the car or truck regardless of what make and model it is.
  7. End of the video is an accurate representation of what MSP does while on road construction detail.
  8. When you say the old NFS games, you must mean Underground, which isn't old (maybe by the standards of a teenager, since NFS started in the 90s), nor is it the roots of the series. Old Need for Speed games would be NFS I, II and III: Hot Pursuit. Those screenshots don't seem to share anything in common with the original games other than the fact that the cars pictured are actual sports cars, not kit cars or tuners.
  9. Around here it's illegal to give tattoos to people under the age of 18. Never heard of the law being different anywhere else, with the exception of a parent consenting. Any parent who'd be okay with giving their kid a Transformers tattoo (especially a kid who likely wasn't even alive while the Transformers TV show was being aired) isn't the kind of person I'd want raising our next generation of young men and women, but here you are, I guess.
  10. Another fun fact: You'd only buy the Rolls Royce Ghost if you couldn't afford the Rolls Royce Phantom.
  11. Current high schoolers probably find it funny. But when you hit 18 and you graduate high school, you're done with it. You're done talking about it, you're done hanging out with most of the people who went with you, done with being angry about every little thing. Life is better once you graduate.
  12. The kid in the video is just mad because he's over 18 and still hasn't graduated high school. (He has tattoos, that's why I know he's 18 or older.) The real world wakes up at 8am, if you want to get up at noon, go work at Burger King. They're always hiring high school drop outs.
  13. It's pathetic. As others said before me, it looks like an overweight Dodge Dart with a Charger nose. I'm glad to see they have a 370BHP V8 ready to go, but with all that power it should be able to accelerate from 0-60 in less than 5 seconds. The article says "less than 6" which usually means 5.9 seconds, AKA 6 seconds. That's no faster than the Crown Victoria, and it's actually a second slower than the Ford Taurus SHO Interceptor that's been out for a few years now. The debut Corvette Z06 had 380HP, so a 6 second 0-60 time is inexcusable on a stripped out car that's more than 10 years newer and meant for high speed chases. Moreover, police agencies often have to go the cheap route when buying their cars, so most will likely wind up with the V6 engine with BHP equal to the Crown Victoria, and even slower acceleration time. The only thing Dodge did correctly this time was giving it All Wheel Drive, but knowing Dodge, it's probably going to be another "active" system like Ford has, meaning it doesn't work at all times, only when sliding is detected which does you no good when you're an inch from slamming into a civilians car or a concrete barricade on a highway at high speeds. So many people are worried about how it looks more than anything else, but very few of you are asking the essential question: 'Is it a better police car than we already have?' The answer is a very clear no. Back to the drawing board, Dodge.
  14. Osama Bin Laden wasn't in Afghanistan, he was living in a neighboring country for some time living in a large compound next to an active military base. It took raw intelligence to find him, not man power. The CIA found him, not any of our hundreds of thousands of troops, pathetic as it sounds. There's a picture of the corpse for public view, however they're not going to put him in a glass display case and parade him around in front of everybody, or give him an accessible burial site because it will serve as a shrine for radical Muslims. It's the same reason the British buried Heinrich Himmler in an unmarked grave in an undisclosed location when he committed suicide after WWII, and why the Russians dumped Hitler's remains in a Moscow sewer after keeping them locked away for a short period of time. If they wanted to fake a death, the Bush administration could have and would have done so shortly after the September 11th attacks to give the U.S. a feeling of justice being served. A decade or so later, nobody cared. Frankly I don't care, because the newest sect of Taliban fighters is arguably worse than the last one, and they're steamrolling across Iraq and past its pathetic security forces as we speak, despite their lack of heavy weapons and armored vehicles. Do you even watch or read any news articles? This has nothing to do with oil. Iraq is too busy being conquered by a rag-tag militia army to give us any oil. Even if the uneducated fairy tail of free fuel was true, we'd be using all of it to fuel our jets that are area bombing ISIS troops right now.
  15. Battlefield 4 has been out for close to a year now.
  16. I'll have to try that again, I tried canceling the stop before and it was already past the "point of no return" for me. Maybe stepping back out of the car is the point of no return as opposed to the computer.
  17. He speaks for ESPN, as mentioned above. And he suggested that hitting people is okay if they make you mad. I don't know why you'd find punishment for that remark unjust.
  18. "He said he will never do this again. "Don't try it cause it burns and stuff. Don't try it, 'cause it hurt real bad," said Robertson." "Cause now he burned up..." Sigh... Stupid mother, stupid child. What are the odds.
  19. As of late: Dethklok - Skyhunter Destroyer 666 - Human All Too Human Pearl Jam - Once
  20. Get out of the way? I've had that happen to me literally zero times, and I've seen very early builds of the mod we have today.
