  1. I'm not aware of a variable you can edit specifically for that, but then again I've never looked. It's randomly generated. In my experience it's fairly rare, although I was present for two AI pullovers tonight, the second of which resulted in me chasing the person. It was pretty cool, actually. The AI officer was just approaching the window with his weapon drawn, and I rolled up behind the AI cops car, hit the AI drivers car with my bright lights and as soon as I stepped out, the AI driver took off. I managed to beat the AI cop back into my car so I took pursuit lead and the chase was on! Very COPS-esque. I do wish they happened more often sometimes.
  2. I wouldn't call it a "rig" with those stats. CPU is weak, GPU is weak, RAM is fine. You won't be maxing details, certainly not with any ENB's running. In theory your laptop is on par with what you ordered. If you're going to buy another graphics card, don't go too high end because the weak CPU is going to bottleneck what it's capable of. Sorry if I seem harsh, but you asked. It's "okay". Your motherboard is built to fit CPU chips from the year 2009, if that's any frame of reference for you. And this is a comparison of my two year old graphics card vs. the one you picked. http://www.hwcompare.com/15325/geforce-gtx-670-vs-radeon-r7-250/
  3. I joined this community a little before you if my memory serves me correctly. Some time in early 2011, and the mod has gained significant popularity and enjoyed massive amounts of media exposure since that time. As population changes, so does the administration, along with other unavoidable circumstances like real-life commitments. That being said, the forums don't seem to be very different from the day I joined in my view. We've had some renovations and I would agree; a new crop of people come in here creating "new types of threads", but that doesn't make this a place full of unrest and chaos. All large communities have house-keeping issues. Just read the comments on the IGN website. They have corporate money and it's like the wild west out there. As far as whatever grievances you may or may not have with G17 staff; I can't really comment on it. Nobody can but them and you. Lord knows I've had my own grievances and I've sorted them out on my own terms which ended up keeping everyone happy. But I think it's best to keep that stuff to yourself, and posting a "goodbye" post like this only incites more unrest if you ask me. But I'm glad you kept things classy. I'm sorry to see a contributing poster leave, no matter the circumstance. Good luck in your future endeavors.
  4. It's the same principle. Install & forget. You can try a game data verification check, or re-install it completely.
  5. You put the disc in the drawer and install it? I'm not aware of any widespread conflicts between the the game and Windows 8/8.1
  6. I'll rip what I wrote on a friend's Facebook post about this topic. Watch the video on YouTube if you haven't already, and read at least one article about the trooper himself and you'll see what I see in the video and get a better understanding of what happened and why. The deal is this: I know what the cops thought process was. Most people have their wallets in their pockets. The guy reached into the car to get his wallet and he (in theory) could have been going for a gun. However, the victim never "dove into the car" as the trooper put it, nor did the cop even wait for him to spin around. All within fractions of a second of each other, he said "Get your I.D., get out of the *bang bang bang* car get on the *bang* ground!" It's a literal case of shoot first ask questions later. He even fired a shot or two at him when he was standing away from the car with his hands up in the air. It's adrenaline and fear. The same trooper had been involved in a gun battle the previous year and is probably suffering from PTSD paranoia about people pulling weapons on him. That being said; if it was me conducting the traffic stop, I would have stayed behind my cruiser door as cover, and had my hand on my weapon ready to pull it if I was a tad nervous, instructing him not to reach in. In an extreme case where I really felt threatened, I could have pulled my weapon and pointed it, ordering him to step away from the car. A person who's formally trained to use a pistol, already aiming at a target can get a shot off before an enemy target can raise a weapon from a down position to fire it. Bottom line: I know what the cops though process was, and I have a theory (PTSD) as to why his thought process was that way, and why he shot so many times (adrenaline and fear). But this IS a case of bad police procedure. He was over protective of himself on a stop in a very crowded pubic place with more than one camera on a person who simply took his seat belt off too early. The trooper doesn't deserve to die or anything, but he deserves time in jail and some intensive psychological therapy for it. This incident didn't need to happen, and a well trained trooper of sound mind and body would have never done this.
  7. That's a fancy way of him trying to tell you that he managed to be successful in life despite being an idiot. Ask any Wall Street financial banker, corporate CEO or indeed; president of an oil company (such as BP). You can somehow get away with losing all of our money, or bankrupting one of the worlds largest car manufacturers or creating one of the worst oil spills in human history if you work really, really hard. But I'd still call you a prick for it. I prefer companies that might make less money, but don't f*ck up as often like Google or IBM. "Work smart, not hard"; as the saying goes. The problem with technical jobs is that people simply can't see our brains working overtime. That being said though, I can guarantee you a computer programmer stressing about algorithms had an equally hard day as the hunch backed fat guy who pushes pallets around the warehouse behind your local grocery store. They both earned their pay check. Just the first one's pay check is much higher, lives in a nicer house, is better educated and less worn visibly. You'd be earning an honest living. Don't let someone who was born before the age of home computers tell you why technology and efficiency isn't everything.
  8. Yes, it's possible for any government building to fall if it's taken by surprise and up against superior forces. Some guy who was an Iraq war vet jumped the fence and made it close to the area where the oval office is a mere 4 minutes after President Obama and his family flew off to Camp David. The problem is that attempting to come up with operations like these will attract way too much attention in their formative stages and everyone is going to get caught before it even begins. Look at the people throughout history who have managed to assassinate (or even just attempted to assassinate) U.S. presidents or high ranking government officials. They were done by lone gunmen that the CIA or FBI didn't have enough information on, or weren't tracking well enough. Lee Harvey Oswald killed President Kennedy using a $20 Italian bolt action rifle because Kennedy's security sucked, the CIA and FBI dropped the ball and they let Kennedy ride around in an open top car. His motive? Nobody knows because he's dead, but it could have been all due to his upbringing and feelings of a lack of purpose and place in the world. Kennedy was not the first government official Oswald tried to kill. John Hinckley tried to shoot President Regan out in the open, next to a bunch of secret servicemen who did a sloppy job covering him and he nearly succeeded in killing him. His motive? He had an obsessions with Jodie Foster and wanted to shock her into loving him. Robert Kennedy was killed by Sirhan Sirhan, a random Muslim guy who had a theory (like millions of others, unfortunately) that the U.S. government had a secret agreement with the Jews to run the world and enslave the Arab people for some arbitrary reason. He shot him three times in a packed hallway with terrible security. What's the coincidence with all of these? They were all out of left field. You never saw them coming. Large scale attacks on the white house are probably going to be found out and stopped before enemy boots hit the ground. Some guy nobody's ever heard of with a twisted motive who doesn't communicate with others? Well... let's hope the secret service, the FBI and CIA have learned from their past mistakes. I'll point out that Obama and his family were not evacuated from the White House. They left on a trip, so it was sheer luck that they weren't around, not coordinated secret service interference.
  9. It depends on a lot of things. Too many variables exist to make it a black and white choice, otherwise everyone would be using the same version of Grand Theft Auto for this mod. On my previous computer, GTA IV ran far longer without crashing (AMD P2 955 X4 BE, GTX 570, Windows 7) and on my current computer which is more powerful (Intel i7 3770K, GTX 670, Windows 8.1), GTA IV is completely unusable with mods, and EFLC runs great unless you travel to the last island. At that point you get massive texture loss until you travel back to a previous island for some reason nobody can explain to me. So in short, it's random. Experiment and find what works for you.
  10. Being from the U.S. (like myself) you probably don't have a whole lot of historical context to go off of, since public schools don't teach you very much about history other than the "highlights". But Europe having large groups of people who don't like each other has been going on for thousands of years. Being from Texas, you might immediately think of southern white vs. black racism first. And I understand that, but you need to keep in mind that the U.S. is only around 400 years old if we go by the time white people first settled it (in the 1600's) and tried to establish long lasting colonies. Europe only recently settled down (if you can call it that) after World War II. But even then, the Cold War was immediately started which involved not physical armies, but an arms race that could have wiped out all human life at the drop of a hat. So even during the 1950's until the 1990's, it was still Eastern Europe vs Western Europe in a battle of ideals. Since the Cold War ended, if you watch the news, you'll realize nothing has been completely quiet across the pond. Serbia, Kosovo, Russia, Georgia and more recently, Ukraine come to mind. Although America and most western European countries share the ideals of modern social interaction, tolerance, equality and good education for all, our little group doesn't represent the whole world. Our views are not as widespread as you may think. -Many countries in Europe still hate Jews and think they control this and that. -Many countries refuse to call the Armenian Genocide a holocaust (I believe the U.S. is one of them, actually). -Many countries in Europe (primarily in East Prussia) still hate Gypsies for being evil and other random hogwash. -Many Islamic countries hate their own fellow men for being part of another tribe or some other unimportant reason. -Many African countries can't get their sh*t together despite foreign aid and stop murdering everyone for jewelry and spreading AIDS all over the place. No place on earth has been 100% peaceful that I've ever heard of. However, it's clear that some countries uphold their ideals better than others, and now with the aid of modern technology, the U.N. can now enforce laws that are supposed to ensure freedom, tolerance and peace from across the pond (with pin-point accuracy if need be). People are still entitled to have opinions and decide their own immigration laws (UK and EU), but if you start cutting off heads, we're going to start flattening cities (Middle East).
  11. You could ask the video uploader, or you could probably make it yourself out of one of the Pierce County Washington sheriff's outfits by slightly modifying the text on the back.
  12. I just used the translator on one of my game reviews... pure f*cking gold. "Da loot from events can be straight-up lucratizzle or beneficial ta yo' character n' shit. Even if you just git some salvageable shiznit you can't use, you gonna git a shitload of it fo' realz. And it comes up in a giant sized chest ta make you feel like you hit dat shiznit yo' ass off. Even if you just wanded a funky-ass boss at a gangbangin' finger-lickin' distizzle n' let other playas do tha heavy lifting." "If you play tha game a thugged-out decent amount, you too can look as wack as dis without havin ta spend a gangbangin' finger-lickin' dime of any real scrilla." http://www.gizoogle.net/index.php?search=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lcpdfr.com%2Ftopic%2F32703-guild-wars-2-ongoing-gameplay%2F&se=Gizoogle+Dis+Shiznit
  13. I'm dying right now... title="Lookin fo">Lookin fo' a helper dat can cook up a edited outro fo' mah dirty ass. DragonvilleHD - An minute ago
  14. I believe this happens somewhat regularly with male officers. My advice: Be stone cold (if you have to), be controlled, be professional, and you can survive any traffic stop with your dignity in tact. Observe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8gqF3_cFtQ
  15. Word has it that Canada will once again be sending its Navy to the Persian Gulf as well. Sorry, I had to.
  16. Sorry, but that was obligatory since you said Springfield. (There's a million Springfields in the U.S. by the way, so you may want to specify in the thread title next time.)
  17. They more than likely do have sleeper cells active in the U.S., and they wouldn't be the only terrorist group or enemy state who does. That being said, I'm not overly worried about it. Just today there was an airplane who entered our airspace without identifying itself, and we had our air force scrambled to intercept the jet, and they followed it all the way to Cuba, where the Cubans then followed it all the way to Jamaica, where it eventually crashed. It turned out to be a private jet where the pilot climbed to a higher altitude than he should have and ended up killing everyone on board because of his mistake. But all of the aforementioned air forces were ready to take it out mid-air if need be. And this was an unidentified plane. If ISIS captured 11 planes, then that means we already know which 11 and where they'll be taking off from, meaning we can therefore track them easier. I'm not saying that we aren't under a threat. We are and likely always will be. But you have to live your life. Not going outside or not using public transportation or not going to work that day isn't any way to live your life. I'm not about to halt all my plans just because a few greasy slobs in rags with beat up Russian rifles threaten to harm us. They plan on taking out the U.S. and NATO? I say good f*cking luck, because they're going to need it.
  18. You can't wear a genuine badge and make random traffic stops with one, however. The Ice Cream video from the OP is actually 50/50. The officer conducting the actual traffic stop is wearing a badge, but the skinny bald guy handing out the ice cream is not.
  19. Are you or the people talking to you about this subject teenagers or younger? Because that probably has a lot to do with it. I don't know any adults who talk like that. Anyway, so long as you have good hand-eye coordination and you don't have any medical problems, you'd probably be qualified for the Air Force. And if people don't like it, tell them they can shove a joystick up their ass.
  20. Nearly every job application (whether it's related to civil service or not) is going to ask if you are a convicted felon. Living as a felon is very difficult even after you're out of jail. You can't get a job, you can't get into college, you can't join the military, you can't work for the government, you can't own or posses a firearm, any jail time you get will likely be longer than a first time offender would get. This is all genereally speaking, of course there are a few exceptions, but largely; what I just described is your life after jail if you commit a felony. A police agency will likely disqualify you for any arrests at all. Some disqualify you for getting more than two speeding tickets in your lifetime (Palm Beach County Florida comes to mind). That friend of yours committed a crime bad enough to get him arrested by the government, so I don't know why he or you would have a hard time understanding why they wouldn't want to hire him on. So you're saying your friend should be in jail for life instead of getting released after serving time? There are other classifications of crimes. Misdemeanors come to mind pretty quickly, but police officers go on all kinds of calls. You should know that pretty well "Detective ODonnell". You mean any criminal can become a felon overnight. Nobody in my family has been convicted of a crime because we generally obey the law. It's not as hard to do as a lot of people think. Your friend didn't obey the law, that's why he's DQ'd. Everyone has choices in life, he made the wrong ones, so now he has to deal with it. Obviously you're being bitter for him (if he actually exists, sometimes "a friend of mine" means you) when instead he should pick himself up and focus on something else. Then get the hell out and go live in another country.
  21. You've been watching the wrong channel. FOX canceled it a couple of years ago for some reason. Spike TV picked up it and they air new episodes every Saturday at 8PM EST, and they air repeats of episodes from years past almost every night starting around 4 or 5PM EST. Newish episodes are shown in HD, older episodes are still in 4:3 aspect ratio. This season has been really action packed so far. First episode was a doosey. I think I missed the one from last week though. :( As far as the shooting goes, I'd love to hear the police departments explanation of how this happened. Omaha supposedly asked the COPS crew into their town to show what well trained officers they have...
  22. It seems almost random sometimes, but I think there's a science to it. Example of randomness:
  23. Don't play multiplayer while using LCPDFR, that's the best trick to prevent the game from crashing. It's not supported, never has been, and likely never will be if focus shifts to GTA V.
  24. Looks like a heavily italicized version of 'Impact' from that distance, but it's hard to tell. Keep in mind man, most police departments don't use "fonts". The decals are custom. One of the departments near me did use 'Stencil' on their old cars. Looked terrible.
