  1. Rockstar confirmed mods are welcomed during single player, it will auto disconnect you if you attempt to connect to multiplayer, or ban you if you don't d/c right away. So just make a list of everything you install, and then remove it from your GTA V directory before launching the game for a multiplayer session, then put it back once you're done.
  2. Hang on just a second, the full name of the mod hasn't been revealed yet:
  3. Yup, that. ^ Here I thought flying helicopters, riding mountain bikes, off-roading, four wheeling, boating, flying planes, diving, jet skiing, flying a kite, watching TV in-game, prank calling emergency services and shooting ranges were enough for side activities, but I stand corrected. Honestly, I don't think we need "Truck Driving Simulator 2015" built into GTA V (a game which has shitty vehicle physics to begin with), they already have that game. The robust multiplayer mode in GTA V should be able to give everyone their fix of GTA once the story mode is done if you're not currently diving into the world of mods.
  4. Then don't crash. Anyway, not that I'm aware of. If such a scrip were realistic, it would mean you couldn't bail out of the car very quickly, if at all, and it would take you forever to get out and run after someone. You'd need something that specifically prevents you from being ejected from a vehicle.
  5. Seems like a waste of money/time to me, to say the least. Helicopters that follow people are supposed to be somewhat ambiguous as to what they're doing since they should be flying high in elevation. It's not exactly safe to fly 20 feet off the ground, chasing people who may or may not be armed while trying to blast a standard issue police siren strapped to a loud helicopter burning loads of aviation fuel just over the heads of people on a crowded highway. *EDIT* Pull over: Sky police!
  6. Cool... =/ I'd accuse you of having too much free time, but that would imply you got creative and put work into making this image. And to top it off; nobody really likes coconut anyway. Except me. You can get actual police cakes if you're that much of a fanatic. God, the ways people who are new to this forum must think of us...
  7. I'm guessing you probably already did it and are finding out the hard way anyway. But yes, because all games have to call upon resources from Windows in order to make them run. Those links used to call upon resources from your Windows 8 install will be broken because a different operating system will be in its place. Why are you bothering to downgrade now of all times? Windows 10 is out this year from my understanding, and it's free for people who bought a copy of Windows 8.
  8. Ditch the mods, bruh. Also your processor doesn't operate at 2.4ghz unless it's running on a single core. It runs at about 1.5 to 1.7 on all four cores. The CPU constantly tries to balance itself, which may account for performance problems. Invest in a desktop.
  9. I believe above all else it's to prevent selling and thereby profiting from a modified GTA. What you do with your copy offline is your business. Disconnect your Ethernet cable before launching the game if you're worried.
  10. According to the officers at the scene, the belts were not done up due to the person they arrested acting erratically, causing the fear of violence against the officers, which is common and indicative trait of a lot of people who simply don't want to go to jail. It turned out later that he wasn't faking discomfort or possibly injury, but hindsight is always 20/20, isn't it? I don't understand how you can sit there and say you're not for ad hominems, and you then immediately go on to call me stupid. That's like me asking "With all due respect, were you born retarded or did you work at it?" Telling you that I give you all due respect doesn't get rid of the fact that I insulted you. If you want to proclaim that the people rioting in Baltimore are martyrs you're clearly out of your mind. Beyond 'left extremist' out of your mind, and I've voted democrat since I was old enough to vote. I'm for tolerance and understanding and everything but clearly you're the closed minded person here if you're going to sit there and tell everyone that people in disadvantaged communities don't know the simple difference between right and ****ing wrong. Guess what pal? I live in a nice city that's located less than 10 miles from a very terrible city. One that has a nasty reputation for heroin trafficking, and I just so happen to even attend college in that city. Many people from there attend that same college with me and as best as I can tell, the ones I attend class with aren't selling smack on the corners once the bell rings, because they decided to work hard instead of deciding to be a thug. I also doubt the people I attend class with would also trash their own city simply due to the fact that they could. There are plenty of people in that city that I'm sure are just as short-sighted as the thugs causing all the trouble in Baltimore, but believe it or not, in cities full of trash and poverty are people who know how to behave like a human. It's a choice. You can be born poor, but you can't be born a thug. If you want to debate me further on it go for it, but if you're thinking of peppering any replies to me with insults, you better think twice and put a lid on it.
  11. No, the idea clearly is irritating to you, otherwise you wouldn't have rambled about it or made the topic. Innocent people are dying that don't have to? What a news flash. Welcome to earth, pal. That's been happening since the dawn of man and it's not going to stop any time soon. I don't know where you get the idea that you can generalize all police brutality punishments as "no justice dealt". You must not be reading the same news reports you link. That guy who died in the back of a police transport van caused 6 police officers who were indirectly involved with someone getting tossed around in a van in just such a way as to manipulate his spine in a way that would kill him to get charged with murder. Not manslaughter, murder. You can't get a higher punishment than that. I agree that it's difficult to ensure that the police police themselves, but if you want to make a change, go do something. You're preaching to the converted when you make topics here. Start a blog, go to protests, start picketing, start raising money. Don't waste our time telling us something extremist left wing blogs tell people every day via Facebook sharing. Riots are coming out of nowhere. These crimes are an excuse to loot and ruin cities. Humans have done this over soccer games, never mind people getting killed by government representatives. The citizens of Baltimore have nobody but themselves to blame for their ruined economy. They had the choice to act like the upstanding men they claim to be, or to act like chimps. They decided to act like chimps and fling shit everywhere when they get temperamental.
  12. 60. Next thread. Joking aside, 30 = TV frame rate, and most console video games. 60 delivers smoother performance and is noticeable to the human eye. No need for opinions on it.
  13. There are thousands of arrests made every single day in the United States, so going by mathematics; yes, the term "a few bad apples" does apply, as irritating as it may seem to you. The only reason why things are in the news every day is because we live in the age of smart phones and other compact camera technology. Women can no longer be easily raped in the back of a patrol car due to microphones pinned to each police officers uniform, police officers can't get away with homicide as easily due to dash cams and bystanders legally being allowed to film them, and coming up on the horizon there will be a requirement for all officers to film themselves in first person. More video evidence = more exposure. Crimes by members of law enforcement have been committed since the inception of the very concept of law enforcement, and they will unfortunately continue long past the present day, simply because members of the law enforcement community are still humans. They have individual personalities, temperaments and motives for working that job. The Isaac Asimov style hard coded iRobot way of obeying the law to the letter is a pipe dream in the law enforcement community because of this. Despite months of training and a rigorous hiring process, you can't remove free will from the humans we hire for the job. So what am I saying? Am I saying we have to sit here and suck on it? No, but the best solution isn't to take the law into our own hands, or whatever these rioters and police lynch squads think they're doing. We should instead be the shining example of the type of justice we demand the police enforce by using legal and bureaucratic means to fix the problem through better laws, better accountability, and better hiring and firing. Lead by example.
  14. You don't get to use deadly force unless your life is in immediate danger, none of them were being aimed at that I could see on tape. What I saw was a police cruiser running over a person with his back turned to them. Armed or not, you don't get to kill people because they "might do something". They have beanbag rifles, tear gas, lethal rifles of their own they can use as precision weapons, rather than a 4,100lb battering ram that can't exactly stop on a dime if something steps in its path. I'm pro-law enforcement an all, but police agencies in the U.S. keep f*cking themselves over with bad PR using their own dash cam footage on a weekly basis it seems. Cool your f*cking jets, officers.
  15. You mean version .95RC? No there wasn't. Closest thing was showing up to a domestic call where some male ped punched a female and then ran down a set of stairs at you.
  16. Are you out of your mind? lol If you resent the police so much I have no idea why you're still here and why you haven't changed your screen name yet. Anyway; back to the pistols, I guess. If it's legal to own, try to find a Colt Peacemaker replica. Those things are classics in their own right. You could even get it engraved maybe like Wyatt Earp's from the movie Tombstone.
  17. Here it is: You may have to enable closed caption subtitles. Basically the guy starts working at a kitchen, the chef orders him to wash some pans in the sea by tying them to a stick. High tide comes in and washes almost all of them away, and he gets stuck for the bill.
  18. No offense, but I like to consider myself bold, dashing and irresistible to women but that doesn't make it true. The term 'felon' refers to somebody who has been convicted of a felony crime, the tense of the word is permanently set in the past, so it has nothing to do with what your current or future intentions are unfortunately. It's a title you keep forever. Obviously you've never heard of the any countries from the Middle East, North Korea, Somalia, certain countries in Eastern Europe and more. Every country speaks positively about how they treat their citizens but the truth in those claims varies widely. And despite the social and economic inequality in the United States, we're far better off than a lot of other parts of the world. There are plenty of countries with a military that on a daily basis dig ditches for bodies, line people up in front of them and shoot them, kicking dirt over the top when done and walking away like nothing happened. America isn't perfect, but we're head and shoulders above that; you can take that fact to the bank. As far as the pistol goes; cool souvenir. It's got James Bond heritage, but Hitler also owned one and used it as his side arm, so I don't think I'd ever own one. Not really a fan of the rounds they usually shoot anyway. I like bigger impact, like a 40 S&W, and you can get that with small pistols believe it or not. Check out the Glock 27, or in your case; a replica of one.
  19. Love the video, had to look up the original after watching this one. The dubbed version is better, sort of like Downfall parodies, but the original gives some context. The guy just loves to laugh at his own misfortune. And I don't much doubt the attitude of Rockstar Games matches that of the video. We're 2nd class gamers. On a side note; I know at a few points in my life I've laughed that hard; and it was awesome. There's no shame in cracking up despite what YouTube users say.
  20. Because no car company understands it, not just Ford. Ask GM/Chevrolet why they killed off the Camaro and the Pontiac GTO, only to bring both back later. Or why Toyota did it to the Supra. Or why Dodge did it to the Charger or the Durango, or the Challenger. I could go on and on. They go and do what they do based off sales numbers. And while those are important, I don't think these car executives truly understand why sales go down when they do. The Camaro as an example is a very cool car. But during the early 2000's, it wasn't exciting anymore. It didn't capture peoples attention or imagination, and nothing made it stand out over the Mustang or the Pontiac Firebird. They needed to re-invent the Camaro rather than do small upgrades every year to a car people were bored with. Sadly, it took them years to figure that out. But when they did; the Camaro came back with vengeance. A whole new body shape that was more aggressive and similar to the original classic from the 60's & 70's, louder paint jobs as standard, and an entirely new engine. A Corvette engine, at that. Car companies need to go beyond small innovations. They need to re-invent the wheel every once in a while instead of becoming complacent. Excitement, interest and innovation drives sales.
  21. This is a terrible idea. Imagine if cops themselves carried it; you'd find more armed citizens firing at cops because they think they had a real gun pointed at them.
  22. Finished my pre-load a couple of hours ago. New net connection paid off, 65GB is a huge game. And now we wait... This music should get everyone in the mood for a heist.
  23. You're using a computer that doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the game to run. It requires a dedicated graphics card with its own memory, which you don't have, so it's using a pre-set amount of your RAM and CPU to compensate. I don't think you meet the CPU requirement either, but I'm too lazy to go look it up. The modded cars are pushing the game over the edge. Remove the mods, the game should work as normal.
