I didn't say that I agreed with the method of doing this. I felt like it was necessary to point out that the small number of Republicans actually kept their campaign promises to fight Obamacare, compared to the many others who have failed to even attempt to deliver their promises, and that, despite the method used to do so, I felt it was more honorable than blatant lies in order to get elected. Also, the main fault of the almost US default was not just Obamacare, but a mass amount of unsafe spending by both parties, without a budget most of the time, while knowing that a default was possible with how partisan politics have become. It's not an uhealthy system because of one house, it's an unhealthy system because people have taken advantage of it for several hundred years, predominantly the last 50, whether they are Republicans, Democrats or corporations, all while screwing over an American people that are too blind, stupid and arrogant to realize they are getting fucked no matter who they vote for.

It's also underhanded political opportunism to make many campaign promises that aren't kept (does free health care ring a bell?). That's something that almost all in Congress and the White House are guilty of, whether Democrat or Republican. But you have to give the people that shut down the government props on one thing: they kept their promise to fight Obamacare at all costs. While I haven't bothered reading it (much like most people in Congress or the supporters of it), it's crony capitalism to force people to buy a product. Not only is it crony capitalism to do so, it is also unconstitutional to force the purchase of a product. It is also pathetic that they needed to "pass it to find out what's in it" (Nancy Pelosi). It further destroys the economy by forcing business owners to pay insurance for all full time employees. Even unions, who have always been strongly liberal, say that Obamacare has "killed the 40 hour work week" (James Hoffa Jr.). In response to this, the only thing they can come up with is it gives people the ability to "pursue [their] happiness...follow [their] passion" (Once again Nacy Pelosi). Those people better hope that their dreams are free.

They most likely got the interceptors for evaluating purposes to see if they are more durable than the charger (they had already had 2 chargers in service for a year at the time of the order). And yeah, chargers are a big pain to maintain, and the 2006-10 model was definitely not suited for patrol use. Time will tell if any of these new cars are better.

@Bravo 9 I'm pretty sure that is a civilian concept of what an LAPD Caprice would look like. As far as I know, 2011+ chargers have only started coming into service since last year, and that was 2 vehicles, one of them a concept car. They come equipped with standard equipment (Only real difference AFAIK is intersection lights on the side). The only exception to equipment is this concept dodge charger. According to one well known member on here that lives in the area, that charger is an actual patrol car when not on display. According to this article, the LAPD ordered more chargers (100) as well as a mixture of 38 Taurus's and 50 Explorers back in June. Chargers should already be fully on the streets, while the new Fords are just starting to get there (no photos anywhere unfortunately).

Video's showcasing patrols utilizing the LCPDFR mod are fine. What is not allowed are videos solely for advertisement, ie: a 1 or 2 minute clan recruitment video that instead of showing gameplay of a session, tries to get people to join through a quick commercial. But if you really feel this is violating community guidelines, which this is not, feel free to report it instead of commenting in the thread.

I like just how ironic your statement was. You go from saying "this discussion is going well" to those people "are complete morons." No one said for sure that the US government will collapse soon, only that the current policies can't be sustained long term without disastrous results. Also, it's a general rule of debate in "discussion" that you don't call someone a moron unless you offer points as to why they are a "moron."

My point wasn't that it will be immediate, but with current spending habits by both parties causing debt to massively increase in the last 40 years coupled with partisanship, it is really far fetched to say nothing will ever happen as a direct result of the debt.

Every superpower fails, especially when they become a global police force. It doesn't matter what personal feelings are held by its occupants, a country $17 trillion in debt (and constantly increasing) won't last long.

While the story of Detroit is familiar to many Americans, it is kinda hopeful to see one part of it improving. This article on policemag talks about the new police chief, the 7th in 8 years, with his hopes for improving the department. One of the notable things he's done so far is put 300 eligible desk job holders back on patrol (including one who's sole jobs were to refuel the chief's car and clean the chief's office). LCPDFR is meant to act as a base tool, with the user's imagination and other mods determining what will be done. The tools and functions it provides are equal to that of an ordinary police officer, but it allows for some customization. For example, you can install a taskforce officer, have a partner or spawn bodyguards with SNT, and respond to drug deals. As it was said before, a developer API will be implemented in the next release. Part of the reason why they are not going to implement a suggestion like this is as it was previously stated, that LCPDFR is supposed to be the role of a beat cop, not a detective, SWAT officer or Task Force officer. But the primary reason is that the devs are hoping this will be a final release, and instead of creating various complex missions, they are attempting to polish off features (like pursuits) and create a basis for future scripting. It's been several years already, let's not hold the community from it because a feature a majority will not use will be implemented, and instead try to get a stable release open to user customization out in a reasonable amount of time.
