It's normal to crash when you play with mods. GTA 4 was a horrible PC port that is barely stable on a vanilla version, so adding mods makes it unstable. i have a good PC and i can play around 20 minutes and i crash (sometimes less). It's just something we have to deal with unfortunately:(

I couldn't tell you whether it's good enough or not, but from my experience with Graphics Cards.. i'm not impressed with the AMD card, i have had both AMD and Nvidia (both played GTA 4 and LCPD:FR). So i in experience i have to say that Nvidia would be better.

Honestly laptops were never really made for gaming. their whole use was for office/work stuff. Most laptops won't be able to run a game that requires as much resources as GTA, unless you want to pays a few grand for a laptop built for gaming. the best option to play GTA 4 and LCPD:FR is buy getting a PC (Desktop)

I'm using ELS7

I know how to use a 360 controller on GTA 4, since that's what i use. I just need something so i can "manipulate" my keyboard controls on my controller. so i don't have to switch back and fourth from Keyboard to the Controller every time i want to use ELS.

GTA itself isn't stable, so adding mods to it makes it even more unstable. however it;s hard to tell how many mods you can use. some people can have mods and play for 5 hours whereas some can only play for 5 minutes before a crash. it all depends on your system i guess.. for me personally i can run GTA for 20 minutes with mods (LCPD:FR, ELS, car mods etc) then i crash.

I'm not sure why your GTA would jump and lag. however it was a horrible PC Port, so it is most likely not your fault as it's the game being dodgy. for me, i run smooth when i have my internet closed, but when i pen it and try to play the game it lags. Also to make it run a bit better, disable your anti-virus when playing (but make sure you enable it after you have finished playing it again). as for ELS. your light-bar normally flickers when you have ELS activated on a non-ELS vehicle. So make sure the vehicle you're using is ELS and not non-ELS

Hey all, I'm wondering if there is a program out there that is easy to use/configure that simulates keyboard keys on a controller? Like i want to use ELS on my controller so for example if the siren key is "s" i can configure that to the D-Pad on my controller so if i hit my D-Pad it thinks it's the S key and it activates the siren.

Just because it's brand new, doesn't mean it will run the game. You can find your computer specs by right-clicking "My Computer" or "Computer" then clicking on properties. it should bring up a page with your computer details on it like RAM, Processor, Operating System etc. EDIT: I didn't see you edit your post. I did some researching. and it turns out that your model laptop isn't so great in the gaming department. so it may not run GTA 4 (it's possible it could work on low settings)

Does your laptop support GTA 4? What are you computer specs?

I can't really recommend and keyboard and mouse setting because i have never used it for GTA, i have always used a controller. however the default settings are pretty good. most controls are mapped out like GTA San Andreas, except a few buttons have changed.

I think that LCPD:FR is only compatible with the XBOX 360 controller. however i'm not entirely sure because i have never tried using a different controller.

Videogames doesn't effect my school life. since i do schooling from home, i can do my school work whenever (as long as my work is handed in on time). but when i have work that needs to be done, i'll do it to get it over and done with. i'm addicted to videogames.. but i don't let it effect my life.
