Just wanted to share this funny thing: I did my patrol in Acter in my black-and-white Merit and saw an ordinary MVA. The victim tried to carjack the driver and do his vigilante justice, so I intervened and struck him with my nightstick! Too hard, I guess. Old man felt on the ground lifeless. I... I just couldn't leave witnesses! The driver... He... He tried to resist, dammit! I just had to shoot him in chest - that's how it was, I swear. He felt down next to the first person. I secured the scene, called the coroner and a towtruck. I was done here. My patrol car had some blood stains on it, I had to replace it. I drove to the precinct, got in another one, turned on ALPR, and... BLEEP! OWNER IS WANTED! My previous Cruiser had a warrant on him and I was wanted. That night i turned myself in to the FIB. ^everything except this is a true story. I tried to make screenshot but game crashed. Pretty funny, cops are not untouchable any more in Alderney :D

Both. 0.95 on EFLC and 1.0 on the main GTA IV. I love 1.0 for it's features but can't play for a long time without crashes. I also use PoliceHelper, coroner and Towtruck mods, 'cause I can't stand crazy ambo, drivers who drive onto the crime scene, and don't like leaving a dead body behind. PoliceHelper and 1.0 combined bring that feeling of reality to each case. Say it's a fatal accident involving a drunk driver. Get some road barries, shut down the traffic, check the driver, search him, detain in a police car, then call for FDLC paramedics and a coroner, get a flatbed, tow away the car, and finally arrest the driver. I'd even wrote a report if I could :D Love all that.

Actually, there's more to be upset about than shadows. My English isn't that good to describe it, see. Your joke about shadows is wonderful. Yeah, a poor-looking game is awesome when it's interesting and entertaining, like Call of Cthulhu was, or Hard Truck, Dune, Command and Conquer, all that stuff. WD is boring, that's the issue. Yeah, I played it. Let's say a friend of mine gave me a copy and I never asked where did he get it. GTA IV main storyline is not too interesting too, but the game itself, the sprawling city makes up for this. WD failed me both in appearance and content.

Saw some gameplay vids and comparison to GTA IV and decided to cancel my order. That's year 2014 and no dynamic shadows, and physics... My loord. Terribly upset, I hoped WD would be a fun thing to play. Only The Division left to believe in.

I usualy have a firearm drawn when approaching a suspect at night and in neighborhoods like Bohan. Gives me more time to react. You also can use a partner, he'll cover you from other side of a vehicle. Partners are not good at sharpshooting though, once he shot me instead of a driver. Or it just looked like that, I'm not sure.

1. The Wire. I love it, for me - the best cop show ever made. 2.L.A. Confidential, The Departed, Chinatown (sort-of-police, though) 3.The Killing - another show, I watch it right now. I don't like action films like SWAT, that's too much of mindless shooting and almost no police work. Still nice to watch, though.
