Live PD | Canceled
Older COPS episodes were great, modern ones not so much. I guess it's okay to cancel a show that's been running for so long. Don't care so much for this political bias tho.

LSPDFR 0.4 - Official Discussion Topic
BTW, have anyone encountered any traffic stop scenarios? I.e. drivers pulling the gun on you, getting out and running on foot etc. I never got any of this (and I RP as a traffic cop :D). The closest I got was a fake LEO ID on the stopped speeder...

AI Tazers - ?
Thanks for the reply! I'll do that. Hope that won't make them simply shoot the suspects to death on sight lol.

Body Bags
So you're telling this person, who made this mod on his own free will, in his own free time, for free, and uploaded it for you so you could have more fun playing the game, that he is "willy nilly" and generally addressing him as if he's an employee of yours? Your comment is reported and I do hope you'll have some attitude adjustment. @majorpaine2015, thanks for the mod, I've been missing that little detail in my game!

LSPDFR 0.4 - Official Discussion Topic
BTW, was the prison transport feature removed? I tried the bus parked at LSIA substation and in Paleto, and I can't get them to start the transport route to the prison.

AI Tazers - ?
Hello! Was wondering if there's a way to add stun guns to NPC cops? Without them they're almost useless in a foot chase. I looked at the inventory.xml file and played wit the EUP inventory file but to no avail. Would really appreciate a tip!

LSPDFR crash on loading, multiple crash messages
GTA Steam copy, latest upd, clean installation. As soon as I load LSPDFR via RPH console, it crashed and endless plugin crash messages appear. A couple of days ago it used to work, then I messed things up and did a fresh installation (deleting all leftover files from the game folder before installing anew). But.. no change. Screens attached. RagePluginHook.log

[REL] Realism Dispatch Enhanced 3.1.1
Hi! I got an unexpected week off, so I went back to GTA which I haven't launched since last August. RDE 3.1.1 doesn't seem to work well with LSPDFR (like, not well at all) so I was wondering whether I can just get the modded vehicles file out of the .oiv package? RDE vehicles are muh better than the majority of real-life cars out there. Could anyone point me to the correct direction as it's been a while and I'm somewhat rusty in GTA modding. OTOH if that's an RDE trade secret, I understand fully.

Cool new way to stop criminals
So does it work only when the person is standing still? I can see it being used to subdue mentally ill people without harming them, though.

Ask A Cop
Thanks for the detailed answers and your time! I enjoy learning something new about the US law (and law enforcement), it's so different from my home. A follow up question -- with regard to statues. I think I heard somewhere that technically you can charge the same action under state law or under a municipal ordinance. Is this really a thing? If it is, is it completely up to you to decide?

Edmonton, Ontario McDonalds Gang Stabbing!
So do they have people on foot lining up at the drive-through window too? I did it myself a few times, here (Western Europe) no places are fully open at night, so that's the only way.

Ask A Cop
Thanks for the opportunity you give us! I'm very interested in the investigative part of police work in the US. How does you department handle detectives? Is it a permanent assignment? Do candidates receive any additional training on criminal investigation before they become detectives? Another one, about jurisdiction: you mentioned that you're an officer in a city, which is in a county. Do you have jurisdiction outside of the city limits? If not, what would you do if an offense was committed in the city, but the violator is located in the county -- would you go after him yourself or ask the local LEOs for help?

Anti-Cop "Activist" Showed True Colors
I tried to find any info on this guy being a part of an anti-cop movement or whatever, came up empty. Looks like he was a lone nutjob. Perhaps in the future you could include a little more of backstory? On the other hand, I find it heavily ironic that an 'anti-patriarchy' guy enrolled his daughter w/o his ex-wife permission. He clearly disregarded the wife's rights. Very inconsistent with his apparent views.

Machete Man In London Train Station
Liberal-minded in my opinion when a significant and dangerous offense gets a slap on the wrist and good wishes for whatever odd reason. I fail to see how this relates to his mental states and appropriate measures. If he's mentally ill, I hope he can be helped.

Machete Man In London Train Station
Good job by the BTP! Suspect is alive and can face trial. Now let's just hope that no liberally-minded judge decides to give him a suspended sentence.

2019 Chevrolet Traverse Cop Car?
It might be. As far as I know, GM does not offer any crossovers with police package, this leaves the market almost exclusively for Ford with their FPIU (and never mind Dodge). They should really look into making a police package for the Traverse or Blazer.

Division's and specialty units
Tons of them, depending on the size of the department in question (and its budget). Off the top of my head I can name - Investigative unit, which in turn can have many specialized branches: Homicide, Economic Crimes, Sex Offences, Drugs, Missing Persons... - Internal affairs unit - SWAT unit - Crime lab unit - Cyber crimes unit Even patrol division can have specialized units, such as plainclothes patrol, highway patrol, aviation unit, marine unit, auxiliary police... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organization_of_the_New_York_City_Police_Department NYPD is probably the most stark example

Police chase and baby held hostage - Turret from SWAT deployed
Ummmgh that's not a 'machine gun', that's a tear gas dispersing tool, apparently. Why bringing it? I have no clue. Perhaps they had no time to disconnect it or they thought it would be needed or just might come handy. I don't mean any offense, but I wouldn't criticize the way professionals operate if I'm not even familiar with the equipment they use. The hostage was rescued and the suspect was taken alive - I would call it a good result, no?

The Mind-Boggling Classic Cop Car Thread
Some old school from Mothеr Яussia Letters on the back door stand for Mobile Police Squad (or Pomogi mne Gospodi aka Help Me God) Don't know about you, but I like seeing police cars in yellow. Brings variety. Hello buddy, can I get some pizza at my location please

Crimea school attack
Apparently we're picking up the trend. A college in Kerch town of Crimea was attacked today, more than 10 students dead, more than 50 wounded. From what we know so far, there were a number of attackers with automatic weapons, who first shot up several classrooms and then detonated two bombs on different floors. The death toll would undoubtedly increase (estimated as 25+), for now firemen can't even begin the search to to the danger of the building collapse. From what the early CCTV reviews show, it were students armed with either AK 74 or something of this kind. That's unsettling. (this picture was retrieved from public sources, I am not aware of how it became public)

Gun shaped phone case - this is how people get shot
What I meant is that you can order it from any other country and get it shipped to you from the USA. Sorry, didn't make myself clear

Gun shaped phone case - this is how people get shot
You can buy it from any other country as well, right? I remember a website offering US police badges for sale. Illegal in the States, perfectly legal (although kinda weird) here.

oldest police vehicle currently in service?
Blue with white stripes was the best paint scheme ever, indeed 😢

oldest police vehicle currently in service?
Wow, I think I saw the last one (or a similar one) parked at East Fayette, a traffic enforcement unit as well. Gotta look through my archives, maybe I took its picture. Actually, 8 years ago there were a lot of Crownvics used by the BPD as Accident Investigation units. And then there were of course the MDTA police (yep, quality sucks)

Three mass shootings in America in one day
That's definitely a valid point, police work is more often about handling the consequences than stopping crimes in progress. Re your other arguments, their persuasiveness obviously depends on one's opinion so I'm not going to argue further.
