  1. Extreme indifference to human life, put everyone in the city of LA at risk of death for NO good reason, extremely likely to re-offend in the future. Filth washed into the gutter by the hydrant he caused to break. Streets are safer. Checkmate.
  2. Only thing I noticed is that during the shootout calls, the peds usually just all stand around until you try to arrest them or someone starts shooting. I remember Braveheart's script had the same issues with that, too.
  3. Hmm, I think at one point someone said that changing the person to non-hostile, or whatever it is, is how LCPDFR does it. I'm not sure if doing it outside of the mod works, though. Looking forward to the next one, and I'll get to trying this one out.
  4. Hmm, so we have to press "Q" again before pressing "E"? Good to know; might want to add that to the readme download description too. Does doing that make AI cops stop shooting them? And do they always comply? Hopefully, with the release of 1.0, the API will allow things like properly allowing spawned cars to be pulled over (it should allow you to automatically start a pursuit, at least), and, if not already, make things like the compliance feature stop the AI cops from shooting someone.
  5. It's not leaked, the game's been out for months. Why shouldn't they be able to go through software they own? For what reason?
  6. Check the comments on the file or see if there's a forum thread for the mod; someone will most likely have posted something about a pedvariations fix for it.
  7. Huh, maybe I remember wrong. I don't usually use it myself as I keep myself equal with the other officers who don't have armor when I play, and now I use the Everything Car mod for persistent weapon and ammo storage (which I do use to keep a shotgun and M4 available).
  8. You get a shotgun and five rounds whenever you enter a new police vehicle, but that's just the default game behavior. LCPDFR gives you an M4 from the trunk, last i checked.
  9. Well, SWAT gear should really define the tools and gear that allow SWAT officers the ability to do the jobs they're given (Hostage Rescue, Barricaded Suspects, High-Risk Arrests, etc.). Otherwise, when it comes to "normal" officers, having extra protective gear and higher powered weaponry at least availible in your patrol vehicle has probably become somewhat more common, especially since past incidents have shown how needed they can be at times and how bad delays in getting those items can make things turn out (the Hollywood bank robbery shootout always comes to mind). The mod technically already has that, as you can go to the trunk of a police vehicle and press "E" to put on body armor and grab an M4.
  10. Hmm, the newer script file is showing as older and smaller than the previous one. Was there a mix-up with the upload?
  11. I think what happened is that I use the Area Livery mod, which changes the livery when a car spawns depending on area, so it probably works otherwise. Sounds good, I'll check out the new version when it's approved. Everything works fine, it's just the save file lines don't match up with the game. Like I said, when I put an M4 or ammo in a car, the save file says it's an Uzi. I noticed the same with the Benelli being said to be the Deagle, I'm not sure about the others. One thing I noticed is that if you have ammo lower than your default move value, it says you don't have ammo in the game.
  12. Great job on these! Getting back to the game after a crash was annoying. Everything Car Will we be able to save liveries for vehicles in the future? Persistent Persons Saving voices? Not sure if it saves the exact outfit we're wearing or just the model. Saving Time of Day and Weather? Also, I notice the ini settings for stored weapons and ammo don't match the game. It seems the Baretta counts as deagle, and the M4 as uzi.
  13. Any teasers on the way or are we just waiting for the ball to drop?
  14. Sadly, on my system, when I finally got EFLC during a Steam sale, if seems to perform worse, even with the same settings and a graphics tweak that improved performance with GTA4. Since I've modded my 3,4, and B slots with NOoSE vehicles (and use PoliceHelper) the lack of police computer doesn't bother me.
  15. Not sure if it would be in the realm of possible, but maybe suggesting it to R8 for a patch idea might be an thing to do.
  16. Yes! Only two things was the black molding and the advisory lights as indicators. I'm pretty sure the blinkers and tail lights are separate, unlike the old Vapid (are Enhanced Liberty and Slicktop versions ever coming?), so yeah, those two things and that car is golden. Maybe eventually I can get a new Gfx card so I can enjoy some more stable GTAIV cop action. GTAV is great, but I miss being the law.
  17. Very nice. Don't forget about some moonlight, at least for sunny and mostly sunny weather.
  18. Awesome! Finally the Merit can live up to the standards of the other Vanilla vehicle choices we have available.
  19. Black Mesa was an awesome trip back through time with "Future Goggles" on. I know they took some sections of levels out, but I never felt there was a hole in any of the levels; most every moment I remember from HL1 was there. Great to hear they've managed to make it through Greenlight; I'd have no problem throwing a few bucks their way, especially if more is coming in the future.
  20. I have never seen one of these end in anything other than a shoot-out. That's pretty interesting. I find it nice that you don't get busted unless you actually stand still and "give up", unlike in IV. I spend a good few minutes jumping and ragdolling into a group of deputies as Trevor, and was surprised that knocking the first one down didn't make them all shoot immediately. There are a lot of times when the police in 4 manage to place you when they shouldn't have been able to. Some solid geometry and objects allowed line-of-sight, and the AI even attempt, and are able, to shoot through some buildings sometimes. It is disappointing that the cops aren't a little less trigger-happy when you're not being an immediate threat, but I'll give chalk it up to the LSPD being an extreme parody of the LAPD.
  21. Makes sense, but annoying.
  22. At least now I've seen a car that isn't a demo vehicle with that type of scheme around LA. I still prefer the simple, classic LAPD-markings. I have to say that the black and white "Police" style R* used is starting to get too common; at least one local department and the county have decided to go for instead of their white vehicles with unique graphics (blue-gold markings for the city and gold-green for county). Hopefully the state won't do the same.
  23. Well, LCPDFR uses the game's taxi system, so it's pretty much R*s work we get to enjoy there. Now, it's possible to code an entirely new system to replace that, but that's going to be taking away effort from other aspects.
  24. Actually, cars react to the siren of the policeb slot if it isn't a bike.
