The UKs war on the porn industry
I've cleaned this topic up immensely and removed all of the off-topic posts, memes, and those one-word replies that don't contribute to anything. This thread did initially go way off topic, but it did right itself in the end. This is an apparently popular debate topic, and one that I don't believe should be stifled yet since the community seems to enjoy debating about it. Should this thread go off track again, it will be closed.

Can't see my usable RAM
Usable RAM is only displayed when the usable amount is, for whatever reason, lower than the installed amount (as far as I know, not 100% certain). If it only says 6.0GB, then it's safe to say you can probably use 6.0GB. You can also check the Task Manager to see how much is available, if in doubt. If you want to be really technical, use the resource monitor.

Do you have any suggestions on things that could be improved (if they haven't been mentioned before)? The best way for someone to improve is to be given examples of what they should do differently.

Answer a question with a song title
You guys have been sticking with the same forum game for months, it must be getting a tad boring? Try this one. The first person asks a question, and the next person answers that question with the name of a song title. Then, that user posts their own question for someone else to answer. With the wide variety of music that the community must listen to, some of the answers should be quite.... unique. Example: User 1: What would you name your next pet? User 2: Major Tom -- David Bowie (Specifying the artist is recommended). What is your favourite colour? RULES: Just follow the normal forum rules. To start things off: You're stranded on an island and only had one thing with you. What would that thing be?

West Virginia State Police
I believe this thread would benefit the most if it stayed on topic (the WV state police mod requests), rather than descending into discussion about torrents and miscellaneous games. You can always talk about things via private message if you want.

Fatal Error: Invalid Recourse Detected (No Idea)
One of your vehicles may be messed up. Best bet is to restore the backup of the original models that you should have made, and see if that fixes it. Some file loaded by the game is bugged, and vehicles seem the most likely. If restoring the original vehicles doesn't work, you may need to reinstall. If you use steam, verifying the game cache will restore only the modified files. That would be the best bet.

Advice on a New Headset
The only ones I'm familiar with are the Logitech G35's. As a fellow glasses wearer (when not using my contacts), I have yet to experience any discomfort from them. However, as I've raged about mentioned to you a few times, the software that comes with them is a bit of a pain if you frequently use Suspend/Sleep when not using your system. The software seems to bug out and then applications will fail to load or other unfortunate events will occur. If you just shut your computer down instead (as I've had to do), then they work flawlessly. Don't expect any fixes, logitech has known about this for a few years and has done nothing.

Is LCPDFR's Community Team Efficient?
I find this to be a very accurate statement. There are some rules that just can't be made 100% clear - there will always be areas where the individual moderators will need to make their own decisions. The decisions made aren't really "right" or "wrong" in many cases, because everyone has a differing opinion. While I'm trying my best to rewrite the rules to be as clear as possible, there are some areas where there's only so much potential for improvement. Also, it's worth keeping in mind that there are VERY few Community Team staff members compared to members (we have 8 community moderators, 2 advisors, and 1 Dutch moderator), and nearly every staff member is going through an education system of some sort. Whether it's high school or college, we're all busy and many of us have full or part time jobs as well. People expect miracles from a small team of very busy people, and it's quite sad (but entirely predictable as well). We have a lot on our plate, and not much time to get things done. Considering the fact that the member to moderator ratio is 18260:1, I'd say things are going well. Would we be more efficient with 100 staff members? Maybe. Will that ever be the case? Doubtful. We just have to make the best of what we have. Considering the situation, we're doing quite well, but if we were all paid staff members that have been professionally trained then things would be unacceptable. One problem is that people seem to think we're exactly that - paid professionals who spend our entire day here as a job. There are always going to be people who dislike us (sometimes authority of any sort) and most of the time those people stay here without issue (the exception being when they ignore the rules and want to be banned). Sadly, it's the small percentage of people like this that take it on themselves to spread any rumor they feel like spreading, and before you know it a large group of people gang up on us for really no reason. As mentioned above by Ben, the most vocal members tend to be those who refuse to follow the rules, and then blame us for punishing them. We get blamed for all sorts of stuff, and while some of it is certainly our fault, a lot of it is made up. There are many times when someone walks in knowing only 10% of a situation, and then they make things up to fill the other 90% based on what they think happened. If I had a dollar for every time it happened, I could have my tuition paid in full (and wouldn't need to have my internship!). This isn't a problem that's unique to us though - it happens all the time in real life and is a perfectly normal part of the human condition (however obnoxious it may be). In short, we've never once claimed to be a well oiled, professionally trained team. We've always acknowledged that there's room for improvement, and that we will never be perfect. We come on here as volunteers in our spare time, and will provide only the time that we think we can safely provide. As Jay mentioned, if someone doesn't like this site, they can very easily pack up and go somewhere else. We run the site the way we want to, and will not bend over backwards to appease those who want to make the site how they want it to be.

An FYI to GTA modders regarding Arma 3 Life
I'm unsure what the main intention of this thread is. I don't believe a whole lot of people on our site play A3L (I certainly don't remember hearing about it on here before), and it's likely that only a few of them will be modders for it. This may be a modding-related community, but it seems like this type of thread would be better suited for a forum specifically devoted to those who play ARMA 3/A3L. That said, I won't immediately close this. However, this is not the place to incite a large witch hunt. If this thread turns into one, it will be removed. It's a shame that mods get stolen, but this site is more or less dedicated to the Grand Theft Auto series and not ARMA.

Careers in technology
There's really no right or wrong answer. If you end up in a high paying job but hate every minute of it, you're going to be pretty miserable. On the other hand, you may likely be much happier in a lesser paying job if you love the field. You need to find the area that interests you the most, and then put your energy into that. None of us will know what that field is. Your best bet is to simply research every aspect of each field you've compiled and then sort through each and every aspect. Order the fields by personal preference, and go from there. Edit: It should go without saying but you will want to include job security as one aspect to examine. It would suck to spend years specialising in a field when it becomes antiquated and obsolete 3 years after you enter it. While I highly doubt that would be an issue for a technology field, keep that in mind.

Remembrance Day 2014
I highly doubt this would ever happen. As mentioned above, the 9/11 text was technically not even supposed to be in the final release as it was a bit of forgotten debugging code. Also, the off-topic posts have been removed. This thread is not related to birthdays or model theft.

LCPDFR=Game
This has been brought up many times, and each time the answer has been the same. We do not have the resources to create a full standalone game, and likely never will. This is a project that the developers work on in their free time (of which there isn't a lot of) and there are no plans to ever create a stand-alone game. Nothing to see here!
