Save games only work with Xlive, correct. It doesn't matter if you use Steam or not, you just need to be using xlive to run a save game mod.

That's GameSpy, not GFWL. As Reibu said, they're unrelated.

In English the only really appropriate term is flag, and banner doesn't really fit too well in this instance. Some languages have different words based on the orientation, I believe, but English really doesn't.

If you're going to give him advice, at least make sure it's accurate. Windows 8 has no such problem with memory. This is coming from someone who uses Windows 8 as the daily driver, with 16GB of fully functioning RAM. It's quite sad how many lies are spread about Windows 8 (though I'm sure you thought you were helping and telling the truth). Windows 8 is not the issue here. Your RAM sticks are very likely the issue - they probably aren't seated properly. The only fix is to re-install them and ensure they're firmly secured inside the motherboard. If that is done, and they aren't working correctly, one or more of your RAM sticks is defective.

Are you using an ENB? ENBs will sometimes conflict with video recorders and performance monitoring programs (EVGA Precision, MSI Afterburner, etc).

A .rar file is an archive (just like a zip file). You need either WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract them. I personally prefer 7-Zip. WinRAR 7-Zip

Playing games doesn't have to impact your grades. I currently have 53 hours of games played the past 2 weeks but I'm still holding a 3.95 GPA in college. It depends entirely on the person, to be honest. Edit: actually, let me clarify this. An addiction to games can impact your grades, since you're too likely to throw off your work. But a healthy balance of games to work is fine.

Community Team & Staffing Update (May 7th, 2014) As many of you probably will have noticed, we've added a new member to our Community Team in order to continue keeping up with the growth of the site. We are confident that this newest addition to the team will be a huge asset to us, and the community as a whole. On that note, I would like to formally welcome ineseri into the Community Team. Most of you will know that he has volunteered countless hours helping people in the support forums, and we are eager to begin working with him. Similar to the last introduction of members into the Community Team, ineseri will initially be working very closely with the rest of the team in order to train and learn the ropes. I will be supervising his progress and at the end of the training period he will formally become a Junior Moderator, while still receiving guidance from the team. We are hopeful that this newest addition to the team will help us to keep up with our ever-growing member base, and the moderation tasks that are accompanied by it, while also providing unique perspectives on any issues we may encounter. As always, we also hope that everybody will join with us in welcoming our new staff member to the team. -Iconography
