  1. I joined GPM because I was a modder. I wanted somewhere to release my work, and collaborate with others. I was given 'developer' status, and there simply came a time when GPM updated their site, it corrupted their theme, and seeing as I know my way around IPB and skinning, Caine asked if I could help. I fixed up the site, he invited me to become a permanent member of the administration, and I just tried to do my best to make GPM the best it could possibly be. I honestly believe I did just that for a good 6 months, but when Caine became more and more inactive, I became more and more isolated, and eventually there came a point where Caine wasn't there any more to support me, instead, people like Alec had the power, and obviously when you have someone who's trying to make a difference, that doesn't go down well with people who want everything for themselves, or those who are on power trips.
  2. For me, the politics of modding is the worst bit. It was just all too obvious on GPM, you constantly had modders being banned for the most pathetic things, like way back when FOwner (who made some of the best damn textures and images) was banned after he played on their SA-MP server for a bit and got in a police chase where he evaded them, then posted images of him evading on the site which was called slander by daedaelus, and we were all told that it was "seriously damaging to GPM and hurtful", so he was banned because of that. I can't help but remember the PMs that Caine and I sent each other afterwards - we couldn't believe how an upcoming modder like him was so unfairly banned like that, and despite our best, collective efforts, we couldn't do anything about it. Then there were other incidents, like bxbugs and yakadafi clashing over claims that yak stole a mirror or something equally pathetic from one of bugs's cars (which got him banned, and it even got the member yakadoshi banned, despite the fact that they were completely different people (indeed, I campaigned for yakadoshi to be unbanned and he's now staff over there)). Sadly I also remember the times when it felt like we were forced to choose between bxbugs and yakadafi on GPM, which was the actual phrase we used during discussions, and I simply couldn't help but think how much better the modding scene would be if the two would be able to co-exist and work together, but the power of ego always seems to prevail. Then we have the whole AlecDurbin situation, where he thinks he's the best modder in the frickin' world, not withstanding GTA. Really, the sad reality is that he is, excuse my French, a complete prick, and to have someone like him completely dictating the GTA SA modding scene was hard to put up with, especially when you saw him threatening to ban people for posting negative comments about his mods, as well as the countless times that he claimed something to be his and banned the original author for stealing. Then you have a bunch of people who let all of this happen (I banned Alec more than 5 times from GPM, and every single time he would go into teamspeak, suck up, and get unbanned). And then there was that day when I was on holiday in Paris, I was checking up on things on my iPhone, and I see Alec flaming and trolling once again on the forums, so I warn him against it, he calls me a faggot, dares me to ban him, and tells me "sense you fail that bad". Enough was enough, I tried to ban him once and for all, but that just wasn't going to happen, and it is at that point where I decided I was finished with GPM and I just kept on banning him until I was banned myself. The sad thing here is, those are simply the more memorable incidents from my time at GPM, they don't do justice to everything that happened over there, and I certainly can't say what goes on over there now, but even by simply checking up on things every so often, you can just tell that it is not, and never will be, the great community orientated modding site which Caine devised a year and a bit ago.
  3. No need to call for transport, just leave the suspect.
  4. Yes, it is being improved.
  5. You already can release handcuffed people, simply equip your bat/baton by pressing 2, go close to them and target them with it and then press E, you will then be able to release the suspect by choosing cancel. Also, you can use the new frisking system to hold suspects, rather than cuffing them.
  6. Frisking uses smarter influences on the random chance of finding something now. Try searching peds in an area like firefly projects or presidents city, then try searching peds in westdyke or willis and you will notice the difference.
  7. I'm pretty sure you got banned because bugs said that you stole a mirror from one of his cars or something pathetic like that. It was sad because quite a lot of people over there just believe anything they are told and unite against people (something which eventually happened to me). I remember Lt.Caine and I both tried to keep Yakadafi on GPM, with us trying to get him added as a senior member so that he would at least be entitled to some protections against unfair bans in future. I just had a look at my old PMs from GPM in my email, and it seems as though when Brant took over we tried to get Yakadafi unbanned for the second time, but bugs was pretty hostile about it. It would be cool if you want to upload your old things here, I'm sure that a lot of people would appreciate the convenience, and unlike some other sites, we don't force people to register to download things, so they would be accessible to everyone.
  8. The guy shot at you because he didn't like that horrible police car in his mirror.
  9. Unfortunately it seems as though this building is unlocked in EFLC and locked in GTA IV. Will look into fixing this soon (we all use EFLC).
  10. I'll look into expanding this further in a future release, perhaps with options to order peds you hold at gunpoint to do things like lay down etc.
  11. Post a screenshot of your GTA IV directory.
  12. I'm sure that somewhere we've already stated our intention to attempt to get code running on GTA V if and when it comes out for PC.
  13. ASP baton looks horribly out of place, this is so much better in my opinion - http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=438499

  15. Completely untrue, domestic violence is technically any form of violence between partners in an intimate relationship. This can happen anywhere, not just at home.
  16. # Not yet, there are still a few issues to sort out.

Hopefully I can fix it so that the marker disappears on the ped after you release them, although it was causing me a few problems.
  18. Yes, it is possible. Just duplicate the trafficflow.net.dll and trafficflow.ini files, rename the duplicates to trafficflowtwo.net.dll and trafficflowtwo.ini and then you can have 40. Repeat the process for more. Link to TFMV5R2:
  19. If you are using a new hard drive, you probably lack LCDPFR's dependencies. Install these: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=17718 , http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5555 , (and if you have a 64bit system, this too: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=14632)
