Last year I just got into watching Blue Bloods (Tom Selleck and Donnie Walhberg). I've always been aware the show was around and I am disapointed it took me this long to get around to watching it. In one episode they weave together so many aspects of law/policing from beat cops on the street all the way up to the police commissioner and the district attorney. Its an excellent show and I recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it.

I wanted to know what other kinds of shows you were interested in that revolve around criminology! c:

Blue Bloods

CSI (Not on TV anymore, but i tend to watch them when i can)

Adam 12 (up to the fifth series.. thanks a lot Lundy

Starsky and Hutch (again thanks Lundy)

Vegas Strip and Dallas SWAT (not long got Netflix and started watching them)

Blue Heelers (long off TV but i own all 14 seasons so i watch them.. Favourite aussie cop show tbh)

Third Watch (1999-2005) is still probably my favorite police procedural show.  Blue Bloods is literally unwatchable if you even have a vague understanding of how things actually work, not to mention that the writing is generally poor.

WWPV was amazing, though I hated the commentary.  It's one reason I don't watch LivePD.  It feels so fake.

a few awesome tv shows have not been mentionned, which surprised me so here it is:

 

-third watch (as mentionned a few posts above) : probably one of the best that mixed FD, PD and EMS. 

-southland: if you like LAPD this is a great one ;

-rookie blue ;

-nightwatch aired on A&E: real life TV show where you can follow EMS, PD and FD during their shift, another great tv show which I really recommand people to watch ;

-Chicago PD 

- "19-2" available both in english & french canada, another great tv show ;

- The chicago code ;

- boston's finest: real life TV show where you can follow boston PD officers ;

I watched some shows, here are my favorite till now.

- Cops (If you count that as a Tv Show)

- Southland

- Rookie Blue

- Ruhrpott Wache :,D

Don't watch Cops or LivePD. (Used to watch Cops.) But if I had to choose, I'd pick the one with the worlds coolest dog.

Because I'm a poverty Brit, I can't watch Cops at prime-time.

 

What do I stick with? Neighbourhood Blues, Police Interceptors, Road Wars, and because it was my childhood, 'Police Stop!', now handily on the internet, as below.
