In Australia we were pretty lucky to have a low amount of guns when they were banned, so there are few circulating in the underground world.

Keep in mind that Australia also had a buyback program for firearms once the new legislation was implemented in which 643,000 firearms were handed back to the government at the cost of $350 million.

Back on the real topic, french people gathered in many places to show support to the city of Orlando, to the LGBT community, and to the victims of the shooting. The Eiffel Tower was lit up in the rainbow colors tonight.

Fox news is like, crazy republican, you really think they're going to agree with Obama? C'mon man, now if you want to throw conspiracy theories, at least do it good =/

Anyway, that's not the topic, so I'll let you conspire

He isn't necessarily wrong though. Most Media outlets typically only cover stuff that causes controversy or outrage. It's very rare that a news program will cover something positive or genuine. Every morning before I go to work I always pop on the news to check the forecast, 98% of the time it's littered with shootings and or stabbings, the other 2 percent is normally about some deranged music "artist" doing something stupid. When the Orlando attack happened the news here failed to mention key points and only zoomed in on one particular thing, that he was 'Muslim' and nothing else. When I had a bit of time I had to research it myself to see what happened and to my not-so surprise, there was a lot more to the story.

The problem with that though is that not everyone has the time or patience to research the stuff they see on the news, most people eat breakfast and pop the news on before they go to work, in turn whatever is on the news that day they take that news and run with it despite its potential inaccuracies, then go on to tell fellow coworkers the same gist.

On the topic of the news not showing positive or significant news, two armed men were arrested by Police here in Toronto Ontario, Canada, who were heavily armed and equipped with a bomb, they were heading to a LGBT gathering at the University of Toronto in support of the Orlando attack. They were masked, in dark clothing and again, were supporters of the ISIS extremist group - Police are unsure whether they're somehow linked with the Orlando suspect.

In other - other news, another man was arrested by L.A Police who again, was heavily armed with 3 assault rifles and chemicals to make explosives. He was heading to a gay pride parade, he told Police.

Love how you ignored my response. Possibly cause you knew I was correct? What a kek.

Yes, I ignored your response, not because "you are possibly correct", but because this is a thing that will go in circle. You've your opinion, I have mine, I am fine with saying that we agree to disagree, but you apparently aren't and prefer to keep the loop going. Too bad, I don't. Especially when it starts to get into personal and disrespectful remarks like this one. On top of that, I don't see any point in trying to debate with someone who can't show any sign of respect towards his interlocutor and their opinion. You are free to disagree with someone, that doesn't give you the right to try and ridicule them to try and prove your point. Trying to debate with that kind of spirit is just pointless to me, I'm not here for that. Kek to you too, sir.

The majority of the victims have been identified and luckily I didn't know any of them but one of the victims lived in my city and  was attending the same college as me he was only 22. I know its such a cliche but you just never think this could happen in your community and at the places you visit.

The outpouring of support for our community has been overwhelming and it just shows even on the darkest of days there will always be light. The majority of us are good people and want to do everything we can to help each other out and we cant let evil overshadow that.

Even after the tragic event and against the advice of the mayor our community gathered at various places in Orlando to remember those that lost their lives and to support each other one of which was another gay club in Orlando that made the decision to remain open because they didn't want the terrorists to win.

I would just like to thank everyone for the support and kind words. We can and will get through this with the support of each other.

They have also released the names of the officers that risked their lives to save others. Their quick and courageous actions no doubt saved lives.

Great idea, but invest what money? The US government is broke and continues to get even more broke.

The only way would be to take away money from other sections of law enforcement which would then have a negative effect on them. I really don't know how they would do it. It would seem we are back at square one. There is so many obstacles in the way to finding a solution.

It's a shame the same can't be said for this topic and some of the insensitive stupidity which has taken place throughout.

I will personally be issuing sanctions if this continues.  @Prophet I was particularly disturbed by the way in which you resorted to an immature attack above.  It wasn't exactly behaviour fitting of a former staff member and knowing you like I do, it took me by surprise.

There's 50 people that have died in this horrible shooting in Orlando, and yet some of the people here are more interested in advancing their own agendas and attacking others?  Disgusting.

Thankful for this badass from OPD SWAT, who helped down the scum. I live close to Orlando, out in Jacksonville, Florida. This shit has never happened to us, because most that can carry will.

You're just framing it in a different light. You're using the words "responsible, law-abiding, gun owning citizens" while completely ignoring the reality of the kinds of people that are currently allowed to own and carry guns. Please explain what you imagine a preferable solution would be. A handful of concealed carry guys in that nightclub, not drinking and not dancing? What are they doing there, just sitting around waiting for ISIS to roll in? Firearm responsibly and alcohol don't mix, so I'm guessing that's what you mean?

Actually...you literally just said my point. I support stricter gun laws nation-wide, so that criminals in Chicago can't drive out of the city and buy a gun. And also, they don't commit their crimes in Chicago because no one has guns there. I'd at least like to see evidence for that, it sounds like you're assigning motive to crimes because it fits the classic NRA narrative. Its far more logical that they commit crimes in the city because that's where they live.

Why don't you solve the problem. Actually imprison people who commit crimes instead of giving them lighter sentences. Criminals aren't afraid of imprisonment anymore.

You're right; my personal emotions were misdirected and caused me to post insensitively to the topic at hand.  I should have know better, and will be removing all of my previous comments.

I will continue to keep the families and community involved in my prayers.

It's unfortunate but it's just the way things work in America. A disgusting tragedy such as this one occurs and tens of innocent lives are lost, and what happens? The left scream "ban guns" and the right scream "Islamic terrorism", and nothing is done to prevent another tragedy in the future. The media is such a powerful and influential source in the wake of a tragedy, and people will flip on the news and believe in everything that's said. Sometimes people will claim that they aren't blinded by the media, but then only believe in what fits their sides agenda. Until the American people decide to wake up, turn off the TV, and work together to solve our problems; these tragedies will continue to happen and they will get worse and worse each time.

I hope that Orlando can recover from this tragedy. Three huge tragedies in such a beautiful city. It will not change the way I think about Orlando and I will still continue to travel there

Seems kind of offtopic, unless you'd like to make a point about the Orlando killing...also, whats up with conservatives weird obsession with Chicago? There are plenty of cities with high violent crime. It kind of seems like a talking point that's been funneled down from Fox News.

Just a bit of crude humor that we like to laugh at when the gun-grabbers claim that gun control stops shootings. A shooting in a place with strict gun control. Who'd ever thought.

Totally different issue. There's psychos that buy assault rifles and gun down dozens of people, and then there's a high circulation of guns in inner cities. To point at Chicago and say "there, gun control doesn't work" is a bad argument to make. I can JUST as easily say "look at any other western country" and now we're making the same argument on opposite sides.

Also, I don't think the murder of young men with assault rifles is in any way amusing. That's sick.

But again you're overthinking it and totally missing the concept, which gun-grabbers always do. The gun laws are supposed to prevent these types of shootings. Here we have a city with the gun laws that the gun-grabbers love, and violent crime with guns is at record levels. Baltimore also has strict gun laws, not as strict as Chicago but you can't possibly tell me that Baltinore has no problem with guns. This is why conservatives can't take the left seriously when they shout for more gun control. The numbers simply don't add up. We can sit here and argue all we want, but the numbers don't add up. Even Bernie Sanders understood that.

We don't think that murder is funny. We think that gun-grabbers claims of gun control being the best solution is amusing. Because I have yet to come across a gun-grabber that understands the concept of the 2nd amendment.
