That would be the carvariations.  Carvariations are hard coded into the game, so you'll need to paste a new line yourself.  I use the mpchristmas2 carvariations when adding lines for GTA vehicles.  When adding a new line, make sure lightsetting is set to 1.  (EG:  lightsetting=1)

    Where are all the vehicles.meta, carvariations.meta, and handling.meta located for the police vehicles? By the way, amazing tutorial.

Hey so i installed a new vehicle that was supposed to be a police3 into my fbi slot. I used the authors meta lines for it and pasted them into the fbi location in the vehicles.meta then simply changed the lines that said police3 to fbi. I also changed the handling line because the vehicle drove terrible and that fixed the poor handling. After all this i walk up to the back door for the 1st time to try to put a prisoner inside and i realize i can walk straight through the vehicle and out the other side of it like its not even there. the only thing that collides with my character are the wheels they are the only thing i cannot walk through. I can still walk up open the door get in and drive it no problems but if i try to open a pasenger door or i walk into the vehicle i walk right inside it like it doesnt exist. Ive installed quite a few cars before and have dealt with figuring out issues like everyone else but i havent had this one happen yet and cant figure out how to fix it. Hope someone knows why this is thanks guys @Kallus @Hystery

Sounds like the model is of poor quality.  I'd try a different one.

I have followed this guide to a T and still, whenever I spawn any of the cars I am trying to replace, the vanilla ones are still there. I have tried everything I can think of to get this to work. I have tried literally every single patchday(x) folder at this point with no result. I am totally out of ideas at this point as to what could be wrong. Is there anything less obvious I may be missing here?

Dunno what to tell you mate. For everyone else this guide was enough for them to mod their game with vehicle models. If it doesn't work for you, I can only suggest to reinstall your game and start over again, there must be something you installed beforehand that seems to override this.

I believe i had an issue like this when i first started out. Not sure if its mentioned here anywhere but i noticed you said you tried all the patchdays and still got vanilla vehicles @chaika. I copied my x64e.rpf from my GTAV folder into my mods folder and replace the vehicles in both the x64e vehicles.rpf as well as the patchday folder. If you copy x64e.rpf into you mods folder then go to mods/x64e/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf .  Try replacing the vehicles there as well as the patchday folder and see if it works. Hope that solves it for you.

Just put a load of vehicles into the latest patchday folder (18 atm) and the vanilla cars show up. I have nothing else installed and this is a clean install. Followed the guide and it hasn't worked. Tried following one of the mod's readmes (put into patchday4ng) and it still shows the vanilla cars. The modded DLC is loading via OpenIV as shown in OpenIV.log. No matter what I do, it still shows the vanilla cars (although now 'police' has no lightbar).

As I said the game is a fresh install and I have nothing else installed. Nothing else was installed prior to trying this. I've even tried putting the vehicles into some other dlcpacks that appear to be loading last in OpenIV.log (like mpStunt) and still no luck.

I have problem with sheriff car colour. I'am trying to mode that car but the colour of my customized car is not ok.

I usually got this problem when i change white cars with black cars, the finnaly result is a black colour not good. Here two pics:

I have had the same issue at times when I spawn a vehicle. Just open up the vehicle options menu in the trainer and adjust it to the proper black color. Sometimes even just washing the vehicle will fix it for me.

I am having some issues that I cant figure out lol. I used modding DLC pack 5 and I used another version and both don't work. whenever I install more than 2 replace police cars the game crashes on the loading population world. I installed the correct files everywhere necessary and it still crashes. I can load the game with two new police car replacements but once I install a third the game refuses to load. Please help me lol

How do fix my cars spawning in with white, like normal CHP pack installed fine, but a couple of third party car mods, their picutres show the black, but mine just come up with pearl white colors, and everything else works fine

Are you able to change the colors in the trainer?  If yes, and you want the car to spawn black, you can add a new carvariation line for the model and set the options to 000

I'm confused. I deleted the base models in Zmodeler and put the police 2 file in both the x64e and patchday3ng, but when I try to load the model in the game it says game error. I'm really coinfused. The model files are both 15,505 KB and the texture dictionary is 6,329 KB.
