Announcing the Coastal Callouts Beta!   I am very pleased to finally announce that Coastal Callouts is now in semi-public beta. To kick off the occasion, we have two new LSPDFR episodes from

It's damned if you do, damned if you don't. Release a mod early in its progress, and people complain that it doesn't have all the features they expected or that it has bugs. Release updates too often

  • Coastal Callouts has been in 'semi-public beta' since before 0.4 was even announced.  We announced our plans for the API for 0.4 and we're trying to release it, for free, to everyone, as quickly as we

Taketwo is responsible for this according to the reports.

Found this, it works for now.

Rest assured, this will not deter me from continuing development of Coastal Callouts.

Personally, I feel like this situation is being blown out of proportion. Yes, it's bad news, but it's easy to circumvent. If it means we can't update to future versions of GTA, that's fine. I'll continue supporting whatever the latest version of GTA V is that properly supports modding. It's not hard to find copies of the old OpenIV installer online, and it's easy to prevent it from updating with a firewall entry or the trick mentioned in the video above. It'll make it a bit harder for new players to start modding, but we're not going anywhere.

OpenIV usually doesn't need to be updated when there's a game update. Since RagePluginHook has been updated already for the latest patch, there shouldn't be any issue with my mods with updating. Mods that use ScriptHookV won't work until that gets updated though, so you may want to prevent updates until SHV is updated if you use any SHV mods.

Let's please keep discussion of the OpenIV issue to the existing threads dedicated to that subject. At this point there's nothing more to say that's specific to Coastal Callouts regarding OpenIV.

As proof that Coastal Callouts stands strong against threats to modding, enjoy a few screenshots from the continuing development of the 45' Response Boat Medium. I've added working navigation lights, headlights, emergency lights, and have added some of the console equipment but that's not yet finished. SkylineGTRFreak will also be modeling a forward lower passenger compartment sometime soon(ish) as his schedule allows.

Unfortunately it turns out that AI can't drive amphibious class vehicles, which means they're utterly useless for backup or for having a team member drive while you man the gun, so we're having to make some changes. I've converted the boat back into... well, a boat. And will be using a workaround with the Coastal Callouts script to attach a working gun to it. This is a bit of a set back, but we're still making progress. Planning to have an unarmed initial testing version of the boat out to beta testers by the end of the weekend, then I'll be diving into creating a bunch of configuration options to that we can support things like guns on boats, as well as start working on boat AI teams.

Not sure if this has been answered but will Coastal Callouts work with the USCG outfits from EUP?

Yes, in fact I personally designed many of the USCG EUP outfits with Coastal Callouts in mind. I am currently working on adding the ability to use EUP outfits for various AI peds in the plugin too, e.g. for helicopter pilots, boat team members, etc.

Hi! Will the helicopters, boats and cars automatic install with this mod? And the docks too?

Sorry, just realized I hadn't responded to this. During the beta (and one of the reasons it's not suitable for public release yet) everything has to be installed manually. However, I am working on an automatic installer which will install all of the vehicles, peds, props, and scripts required for the mod to run. When it's released it should be a pretty simple install for anyone who is familiar with GTA modding and already has a working LSPDFR installation.

Now that RBM is out, it was time for another Coastal Callouts episode! Great job @PNWParksFan! I've been part of the Parks Benefactor Program for a few months now and have seen Coastal evolve immensely, and he is still working on adding more things! Really excited to see the development of this mod DLC!

Hello I had a question, I recently donated and paid enough to get access to the Coastal call outs. But so far I have not been told anything or been sent anything how am I suppose to receive the Beta?

The beta program isn't automated; I have to set up each new member manually. I usually respond to the initial donation within 12-24 hours, and then users get access to the beta within 24-48 hours of filling out the registration info received in the initial response. I had a particularly long day today and just got home, but will catch up on any new members before I go to bed!

I will be away from my computer for a few days over the 4th of July holiday, so response times may be slightly delayed compared to normal.
