traffic stops

Featured Replies

hey guys just want to know why you cant fix it so when you have a traffic stop cars dont run over your car. like when your going down a highway with a lane blocked thay get in the other lane. why cant you fix it like they would think that lanes blocked if you dont have the islands unlocked you see police cars setting there but the computer cars dont try to run over them thay just dont go that way.

...because the behavior when the other islands are blocked is built into GTA IV, while the devs have to hack it to get what they want?

They should put when you activate the stop lights, they stop like that PPM, only good thing about it.. Also, I think when you are driving on a bridge on the game, there is a cop in a traffic stop and he has cones and traffic dont hit him. :)

Most of the time I find that cars put SOME effort into avoiding my car if it's far enough to the side.

Yeah same.

The best thing to do is position your vehicle so the front is pointed outwards, if it's in an angle like this the AI vehicles will move into the other lane.

Does this linky help? http://www.gta4-mods.com/script/npc-vehicle-detection-f13605 It did the trick for me when I tried it. The only issue I found was that cars completely stopped behind my patrol car. They waited until I moved completely before they would move, most would not even attempt to go around until my lights were off and I moved from the roadway. Good luck! (This mod is not mine. I am NOT affiliated in anyway with it. :)

Description:

NPC Vehicle Detection // - 2.0

Do you roleplay? Do you like playing First Response? Bus Mod? Taxi Mod? Or do you simply like stopping at traffic lights?

THEN THIS IS THE SCRIPT FOR YOU.

Are you sick of cars ramming you up the arse?

Vehicles can still ram you accidentally, But are less likely. When a vehicle is behind you, and they start to take off this little script stops them from accelerating. So you won't have anymore stupid NPC pushing your vehicle or trying to move around you.

Installation -

1. Extract VehicleDetection.rar

2. Place scripthook.dll into your Main GTA IV folder

3. Either place the scripts folder into your GTA IV folder, or copy Vehicledetection.vb into your own scripts folder.

Tested and working on 1.0.7.0

Backup your old scripthook before installing.

Usually if I park with the centre of my car lined up with the left side of the car I'm pulling over (i.e. covering up half the lane) cars will try to go around me, it is important you also leave them a certain amount to maneuvre around you. (This works 90% of the time for me)

A huge problem for me, even with the LOM, is that when I pull over a car on the Plumber's Skyway, I usually have 1-6 more cars come speeding into me and smash my car and the car behind, etc etc.

What I tend to do is try and not stop vehicles on highways. Just follow them for a while and they will eventually exit the highway and move onto a smaller, safer road where you can preform a traffic stop.

I usually go deep onto the PHW and want to finish quickly so I can get back. Usually if I don't pull them over right away they smash into other cars.

I get that too, so I just cancel the stop, wait until it's clear, then pull them over. They're "in a rush" when you stop them.
