[REL] Cosmo's Lenco Variation

Do you need to install the handling.meta (will it roll over easily if i don't install it) ? I have Semi-realistic driving installed that increases the speed, the Lenco would fall behind if i change it

It shouldn't roll over. The only reason to change the handling.meta is that it gives it a realistic bearcat handling/speed. It should work fine with another handling line as long as it isn't the vanilla Riot Van because the vanilla one is pretty slow, the Bearcat takes a bit to accelerate but it gets up to great speeds. I think I've got it up to about 90-100 on the highway.

ah okay, i tried it with Semi-realistic physics and it works fine, however. it cant climb hills as well as you handling line can.

I've found an nice Video of an LAPD Lenco Bearcat. Thought it would be interesting, so here we go:

Yes that's a pretty good one. I watched quite a few videos before and during so that I could try to get it as accurate as possible, that video included.

Started working on the first update right away.

I flattened the side windows more so they don't look so weird and I've added extra handles on the front and hood.

I also made the top hatch an extra so that it can be toggled in case you don't want it on there.

The big thing that most people want is the Arjent. I was very luckily to get FCVP71's Arjent lightbar.

Since I never use this kind of lightbar, what does everyone think about the size and placement of it? I really have no idea if it should be scaled larger, I just left it as it came.

Definitely a little larger, I'm not entirely sure if they are like the liberty and come in different widths but I'd assume so as the ones on real LAPD cruisers would have to be smaller than the ones on the LAPD Bearcats for obvious reasons.

Also if you ever feel like having a crack at another swat vehicle there's a little treat in the photo's

Could you add livery support in the next version? I replaced policeinsurgent (I'm using realism dispatch enhanced) and I can't get more than one livery to work on the car. However, when I put a different model in the car, I can get multiple liveries working with only changing the vehicle.

Also, a whelen liberty version would be awesome, since most bearcats have that as a lightbar.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

I did not forget about my faithful bearcat!

Sorry it has been a while, I usually have to work on multiple projects at the same time to stay interested in them all (which is a terrible business practice, but it keeps me goin) and I have also been pretty busy in general.

The next update will be coming along as soon as I:

  • Redo the mapping (I will remap it according to the original template so hopefully no ones skins will get screwed up)
    • This to to enable multi-livery support, I thought I did it correctly the first time but I missed a part, but I've got it down now ;)
  • Make the rims black (Easy)
  • Make the hatch open and possibly be able to be in it (I don't really know if this is a feature anyone wants? I could probably make it work since other people have done it but I'm not sure if it's practical, if anyone wants it, and if there should be a gun on top as an extra)

So far I have:

  • Made the rims more realistic as requested (The rear rims go in, instead of protrude out)
  • Removed a lot of the bolts as requested (There are now only a few in logical places)
  • Took the hatch from the insurgent and it swivels all around while you drive right now (Kind of annoying)
  • The Arjent seems to be working nicely
  • The extra lights now work properly

A version with a whelen liberty will also probably be in the next update.

Feel free to suggest anything that you would like to see in the next update or future updates.

After much, much, wait, I have finally worked on the Bearcat for an update.

For Multiple livery support, I had to re-map the whole thing. However, I tried to make the template very close (almost identical) to the old template.

For those of you who have made skins, you will want to just compare it to the new template and you may need to move things around slightly.

The new template for version 2.0 is in the spoiler below. The actual update will be released very soon so check those skins!

This is just about what will be in the next update:

  • Windows no longer stick out, they are much more flat.
  • The Hood and front are less pointy.
  • Other various body/model tweaks.
  • Black rims (They look pretty BA in my opinion).
  • The hatch is from the insurgent and has a much smaller profile (Toggled with Extra_2).
  • Closer to authentic rear rims; the front and rear rims are no longer the same.
  • The turn signals should be fixed and working properly now.
  • Multiple liveries (Actually works this time!)
  • Handcuffed suspect's hands no longer stick out through the side.
  • Arjent and Liberty Variations.
  • The spotlights on top now work correctly as extralights (Thanks to Lundy for reminding me about a step I forgot).

And after the release of the update, I plan on releasing a DEV version shortly after so that other modelers can add their own lightbars or other ideas to make additional variations.

YES Thank you so much!

I can make a few LAPD Skins and might make LASD Skins :)

For anyone not following the actual file, the Bearcat is now updated to version 2.0.

Head over there and tell me what you think :)

The Dev version will also most likely be uploaded today
