Anyone getting bored with the same model's?

Featured Replies

@gtapolicetrucker: There are some russian modelers that convert models from SA, I guess without author permission, and then they sell them.

They guy I said releases, or at least has released, some of his works free but he makes the models, by request, for cash.

Precisely more european vehicles is what gta iv don't need, in my opinion, there are too many.

I'm bored, apart of the hundreds of european vehicles that are avaliable for gta, of the modern suburban and tahoes (I wouldn't mind 'd like to see more older of these), and of the modern impala also, lately there are '06-'12 Impalas everywhere...

I'd like to see some E-series ambulances and police and civil vans, aswell as chevy ambulances and vans:

Any american ambulance more classic than this?

And also an Excursion, a '77 NYPD Plymouth Fury/Dodge Monaco, and well, many more...

i think you guys got the wrong idea. what he was sayin was that someone payed him to make the model. after that i'm sure he's going to release it to the public for free of charge. it's ok to accept

@GTATRUCKER

Which is basically what he/she is doing. It's illegal to make someone pay, even for a public mod. It is illegal, breaking copyright rules.

EDIT: Ninja'd 3 times.

It depends what the mod is. If it is something you've made yourself, 100% from scratch, that doesn't infringe copyright or trademarks, then you could easily charge for it.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

He's right there, they can't make it illegal to sell your own creations, it's when you start to use other people's stuff that it gets messy, like say for instance I used parts from modders that put them up for free, and sold the model, legally, they're entitled to a share of the profits, predetermined before I sell it.

But back to original topic, I totally agree, this whole repeat of the same five models is starting to drive me crazy. The worst part I find though, is when someone releases a new model, they fill it with as many lights as humanly possible. I'd love to start modelling some stuff, but I simply don't have the understand yet. Mind you, I have started one modification, but I'd say by the time I get to the part where lights need to be added, despite the many tutorials I have, I'm going to need oodles of help :P

That being said, once I get it figured out, it shouldn't be too hard to get back into modelling again. And no, I don't charge ;)

+1 gtapolice trucker!.

Newfoundking, it made not be illegal to sell your own creation's, but if you make a crown vic from scratch, you are still basing it it off the real life car with for symbol's "police intercepter", all people really go gaga over is that fact it's ford (also a police vehicle), but if you take the Vapid logo's, and put them on a cvpi, i don't think it would really matter.

again

i'll repeat myself since some of you didnt really understand me.

what i was saying was that yes it's illegal to charge someone to get the mod as in after the mod is complete.

you cant do that, but what you can do is take small amounts of money to inspire some artistic motivation some you can get the mod you want to be made

after that it has to be made free to the public if you do want to release it.

all the money is for is the sevice there providing, wether that be converting it or making it.

your not charging for the parts or the model but the sevice they're providing of putting that model ingame or getting it made.

do understand now guys?

RGXLegends was making a dodge durango a while ago, but he quit modding 2 years ago and almost never released any models anyways.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

Which, from what I've seen, involves learning to model.

No, if it's a good model you don't have to model usually, detaching/attaching and material setting is what you need to know for converting.

I'm not working on the 2011 one, I'm working on a '97 one.

Just wanted to know so we didn't end up making the same one.
