Well, this is what I have: http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-FX-Series-Processor/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=pd_sim_147_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0YP3PVT3BRTJ2B1K9SJ9

I'm not really sure if I can recommend it though, cheaper AMD processors might have similar performance.

Yeah am not sure if they is 12 or 16 cores yet am going to go with the 8350 Seems to be great :) thanks guys I believe octa core can be overclocked safely?

Games only really use 4 cores so, unless you do some serious shit on your PC, it'd be overkill. (Yes, they said that for 4GB of ram and gaming.....)

Most of the octa-core CPUs from AMD are a lie. They only have 4 CU (compute units). So you essentially have 4 cores with 8 threads to access them. It does increase performance (kind of, mostly because applications are written badly) but only in the same way that a quad-core hyperthreading Intel processor would.

The AMD octa core processors have 8 physical cores that share on floating point unit. There are 4 modules with 2 cores in each of them. They have a 8 physical cores and 8 threads.

Don't really understand octa-cores overall i know (AMD) is alot cheaper then (INTEL) yet am not going to fight over the performance because i already know intel destroys amd.

For me 4 cores is not good at all for games like gta v

I won't believe what you said because am using 100% at all times which is stopping me from getting more power out of anything. i just hope 8 cores will do perfectly fine i have posted a new thread on about new parts motherboard powersupply etc,

Your getting 100% out of your 4 core processor?

Also, Intel doesn't seem to have many 8 physical core CPUs, excluding the newer i7's.

yes at all time only in games of course.

Tell me your usage when you get a 8 core CPU then.

Then that really speaks volumes about the performance of AMD processors, if those are physical cores, then by god what is the excuse for the piss-poor performance.

AMD processors performances are pretty fine and respectable. I don't know if you actually ever used one to make such judgement on them. I have a FX-6300 currently, and it works wonders on all games I have, including the most recent ones like GTA V, as well as most softwares I use, like Sony Vegas Pro.

Hopefully Zen will bring more to the table considering they will be 12nm processors.

How much are you willing to spend? Because GTA V is known to have CPU usage problems with AMD ones and seeing that you have a 980 Ti, you don't want to run into any bottlenecks. I would personally stay away from AMD unless you are on a budget but if you want the performance, Intel is better path. Also the 9000 series of AMD CPU's are really bad. Huge TDP and heatspreading while performance is pretty much the same to an OC FX-8350. In the 300$ish range, you can pick up an Intel 4690k with a decent Z97 board that'll give you amazing gaming performance with the 980 Ti. You'll just max out the game @ 1080P/1440P with 60+FPS no problem. If  you do video editing/rendering or graphical design like adobe and etc, you can move up if you are willing to pay the extra and go for an I7-4770k/I7-4790k. All in all, I would recommend the 4690k and a Z97 mobo if you are just gaming and want the best FPS :)
