  • Not a dumb question at all, it's very common that a new OS's will break compatibility with certain software.

  • You...you WANT to use 8.1??? You absolute freak of nature :)  For the record, again this isn't 100%, windows 10 support may never actually get written on their specs list. They may never see it viable

  • I think so.

I've been wondering this as well. I don't want to upgrade then spend three days reconfiguration everything to make it work. I spend all week critically thinking to save peoples lives...I like to come home and not think at all really lol..

Don't know if this is a stupid question, but will I be able to update to windows 10 and still be able to load/play LSPDFR?

And this isn't the case with most games with W10. GTA 5 and LSPDFR work just fine on it, along with most other games.

Just completely upgraded to Windows 10 and works perfect. No problems at all.

Uhh edit to that post ^ I was talking about the actual OS I had no problems until I got a notification saying that my specs don't meet the requirements and I was like wtf and went here https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/203428177 and saw that Windows 10 is not a supported OS. wow. :/

Merged for you. :)

As for Rockstar support. I can't say 100% if this is the case but that may well be due to the fact that GTA V wasn't built on any windows 10 based machines.
While Cyan stated above windows 10 is a very well polished windows 8.1, they're still different operating systems in theory. I suspect when Rockstar has done sufficient testing and it's reasonable to do so, Windows 10 will gain official support in the specifications list.

Guess I'm going back to Windows 8.1 until Windows 10 is supported then. :)

LOL, I unfortunately have no choice at the moment. :( It would suck though if it would never be supported, my PC for some reason is faster with Windows 10, definitely noticed.

Yeah, I honestly can't see why they would never go through the hoops of making it officially supported. There is a lot of incentive to upgrade to windows 10 from 7 and 8 and I can imagine a large number of people will do so. With windows 10 being (in my opinion) phenomenally better than windows 8 and of course now being the newest OS it would be rather stupid to ignore it and not support it while GTA V is being actively worked on as a result of GTA Online.

I got that same message but I was able to keep going into the game where I promptly had an amazing experience of seeing GTA V at 1 FPS (at best). I did a google search and was reminded that maybe I should update my drivers. I'm gonna see if that solves the GTA V issue.

Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.

Most of the time it doesn't matter if it is "supported" or not - GTA IV is not supported on Windows 7 and later OS, for example.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

welp, guess I'm SOL until AMD updates their boot camp drivers for those of us iMac heathens who dare to have installed Windows 10 on their Boot Camp partition. Game is unplayable at this point.

Before I go back to Windows 8.1, will it be possible for me to come back to Windows 10 if I choose to? (Without paying)

Not 100% sure about this.

I would hazard a guess that once you've downloaded your free update you could just apply it again after reverting back to windows 8.1. The reason I guess this is the case is because you can reserve your copy of windows 10, have the installer loaded onto a USB then install windows 10 upgrade on as many machines as you want.

But again, I'm not 100% certain.

Going to try it in a bit, hope it works.
