Code 3 Callouts
"Attention all units, officer needs assistance. Shots fired. All available units, respond Code 3."

This is a plugin that I have been planning for ever since I started writing scripts for LSPDFR. Now that the LSPDFR API has come out, this idea can now become a reality!

The focus of this plugin will be to create a realistic experience where the player needs to do some actual police work. Police work is not always about flicking on the lights and sirens and flying down the road at 100 MPH. Nor is it always about pulling out an AR-15 and emptying a clip on a suspect.

In fact, most of the time, police work is all about dealing with people. Hearing both sides of the story. Figure out who is lying, and who isn't. Sometimes you have a helping hand when you have an eyewitness, and sometimes not. Or sometimes you will get eyewitnesses who contradict one another. Bob says the bank robber's car was blue. Jane says the car was red. Turns out, Jane was on her cell phone, and wasn't paying attention. Oh, and Bob was in the bathroom, so he didn't actually see anything. You later find out that the car was actually green.

It is YOUR job to determine what actually happened based on the evidence. Its time for your shift, Officer. Gear up, and move out.

Callouts

• Assault
• Intoxicated Person
• Person with a Gun
• Unknown Trouble
• Hit and Run

• Police Impersonator

• Domestic disturbance (May remove this, depending on how the above domestic backup call plays out)
• Bank robbery
• Officer requesting backup (potentially with one of the above calls!)
• Kidnapping in progress
• Shots fired
• ...and more!!

(Not all of these callouts may be implemented. Plans are subject to change.)

Features

• Framework & logic for managing each callout type
• Dispatch audio
• Altering suspect behavior based on the response of the officer
• Ambient events!
• ...more to come!!

Screenshots

The following screenshots are from the Assault callout. You need to get stories from the victim and the suspect! Figure out who is lying by speaking to the witness!

Check everyone's ID's, just so you know who you are talking to, and so you can run their names in your computer!

FinKone has done a video demonstrating an early version of Code 3 Callouts, and watch for a video (coming soon!) by Jeff Favignano as well!

Developer Information

This plugin will be designed to work alongside callout plugins created by other developers. I am already in conversation with LukeD (Callouts V), FinKone, and Straysify, and best efforts will be made by all of us not to step on each other's toes.

Any other developers that will be producing callout plugins are encouraged to keep in touch with all other callout developers to ensure that we don't unnecessarily duplicate any work.

Sounds like you have a good idea, can't wait to see how it comes out. Good luck!

Wow, seems like a great work is coming!!!

That part I quoted is what I wanted to see the most because I'm always affraid of duplications xD

Good luck in your work and thanks Stealth!

Glad to hear it San, I am excited for this! Love seeing modders work together.

Awesome! Really looking forward to this.

So I've got one callout mostly done, and I'm just ironing out the dispatch audio. Once that's done, I'll be working on adding more callouts!

After some testing, we should see a prototype release in the near future!!

Updated the first post with more details, as well as a couple of screenshots!

Coming soon to an LSPDFR folder near you!!

EDIT: Changed the name to Code 3 Callouts. Thanks to FinKone for the suggestion!

Plugin has been released!

Plugin has been released!

With the Traffic Accidents, will you able to alert EMS?

With the Traffic Accidents, will you able to alert EMS?

I haven't thought that far yet. I wanted to get the first version out as quickly as I could with the four initial callouts. Adding more callouts is going to be my next project.

I have a weird bug with the peds spawned by the callout- i can't arrest them. They just stand still when you press E, and you have to kill them to end the callout. Anyone else get this?

Which callout is this? And are you running any other mods? (If you have Keep Calm, any version prior to 0.5.1 has issues)

I stand corrected- I was running an older version of keepcalm, just updated and it's fine now. Fantastic work on the callouts- it's nice to be able to end a callout without anyone getting shot or blown up ;)

Currently doesnt work. Not sure if its outdated or just me but I crash when I load in, I've done extensive testing and figured out this is the only mod causing it (Installed mods one at a time).

was pretty good, should update it sometime

Can we get more options than just Adam and Lincoln units?  I tend to us the motor unit a lot and space when I'm here the game call for 1 adam 12.

It works fine for lots of people, so the issue is not in the plugin code itself. That being said however, the next update will have some optimizations in the code, as well as an option to disable the dispatch audio, which I believe is causing some people's issues.

Yup, it will definitely be in the next update. I just had ADAM and LINCOLN for my initial testing because I was too lazy to add them all at once, haha. Then, I was so excited to release the first version that I forgot to include the rest of them.

There will be an update coming soon which, aside from what I mentioned above, will come with some new features. As well, there will be at least one new callout, possibly two.

Yeah I didn't mean for everyone, sorry. but as for myself Im having issues, can't play with this plugin, others work for me but as soon as I plop in this one I crash as soon as I load into my save. I'll be keeping up with any updates though, I used it before it started crashing me and it was pretty neato.

for debugging purposes if you want, I can get any log(s) while crashing with it, to see if you can maybe pinpoint why Im crashing.

btw off topic but, do you plan on updating your Traffic Control mod? I find it pretty useful, but will it come out of beta with more stuff?

Log file would definitely help.

As for Traffic Control, yes, it will eventually. After I've got Code 3 Callouts to a point where I am happy with it, then I can take another look at Traffic Control.

By the way, I think I've finally squashed the last few bugs I needed to, for the next version of Code 3 Callouts. It still needs to go through testing, but expect an update very soon.

Oh, and there will be TWO brand new callouts, as well as updates to the existing ones!!

I was enjoying this mod but it seems to crash now on loading into story mode as of a small update GTA installed today. Whenever it goes to load the plugin during loading screen (i have it added to the startup file), the audio of the officer responding plays, then freezes and the game crashes. I've sadly had to remove your mod until this is resolved.

I'll go ahead and wait for said update, if the problem persists I will definitely include a logfile.

Thanks.
