I think Lund is doing a SAHP one, and while I'd love to see BCSD skins, I think I'll wait until UV-Mapped vehicles appear. That being said, I might change my mind.

Make a couple just as a 'Proof of Concept'.

You should create a "Yard1's Awesome and Must Have Textures" thread to keep all your awesome releases in one place. I assume you do plan other awesome textures, correct?

I hope! But there are also Lund, Olanov, Netman, EVI... We will probably end up making the same things!

Funny story, I wrote today to Lund to show him my new texture for deputies that changes the "POLICE" text to "SHERIFF" text, only to find out that he was making the exact same thing as we spoke xD

GTA V has so much place for texture editing I guess you'll find some space for each other lol. But yeah, first there gotta be mapped vehicles...

What would happen if this was installed and brought into GTA Online? It seems to be something that may cause problems there, since it technically adds a new vehicle that other players' games wouldn't recognize.

That's the goal. I do hope and am expecting that those mapped vehicles have the same templates as the V to IV converted vehicles.

By the way: Anyone with non-Steam versions may have issues with the recommended install process (non-Steam versions with OpenIV.asi will tolerate an update.rpf that's modified, but not an x64e.rpf that's modified). The solution is to copy vehicles.rpf from x64e.rpf/levels/gta5 to update.rpf/x64/levels/gta5; you can then change stuff around in the vehicles.rpf you just put in update.rpf. This will also be better in the future when OpenIV moves to keeping update.rpf vanilla and having a copy at /mods/update.rpf which is what gets changed.

Essentially.

It'll hit you with an incompatibility error and prevent you from joining others' sessions (unless they have this installed as well)

My System:

Intel i7-2600k | ASUS P67 Sabertooth | NVIDIA GTX 560ti | Corsair 750W PSU | Corsair Vengeance 8GB | Lamptron Fan-Atic

I don't think that's possible. GTA V will only load modified files if it's running the OpenV.asi script, and I think that script (like all scripts) kills the game when you try to go online.

Couldn't you guys do one massive collaboration? Each of you targeting certain aspects of the game? One does Police Officer/Sheriff Deputy NPC stuff, another does vehicle models, etc.

I got to beat them with my N.O.O.S.E stuff before they have a chance though.
