I have been reviewing what he has been doing, and he is full of it. I thought he was going to be a good President, but I thought wrong. Worst President I've seen.

Yes yes, of course he is. I am sure the next election will solve all issues :P Anyways, enjoy your saturday!

  • Think about it like this. A nice event is going on, maybe a famous person visiting somewhere. Place gets shot at/bombed and people die, there was low security at the event. These protests are similar,

Obama is a fucking joke. He is taking the US citizen's firearms and restricting police officer's tools, whilst he supplied ISIS's weapons. Fucking retard.

Please point to one piece of legislation under Obama's presidency that has taken away people's guns.

I've only read this last page. I'm terrified of the previous eight if they look as poor as this one does.

To me, the area of what gear is acceptable for police departments and what isn't acceptable is a bit of a grey area. My biggest problem with giving police military style equipment is that it is used primarily to fight the War on Drugs (which is another discussion in itself) which is something that I do not agree with.

Now, I can't speak for American's, (I am Canadian) but I honestly don't understand this. America is flooded with assault rifles and other illegal weapons, some in the hands of perfectly normal people, and some in the hands of criminals. So, yea, let's take away armoured vehicles from the police so they can get shot up, and remove heavier weaponry and equipment. That doesn't make any sense to me.

IMO, police should be decently armed (enough to take on armed suspects), especially in America. if the gun violence rate went down and the known amount of guns went down, then maybe LEOs wouldn't NEED as much, but now I think they do.

I think America needs laws and better enforced SOPs, not taking away firepower. For example, if there was a peaceful protest, in which people were chanting, and weren't obstructing justice/the peace, they should be left alone. If it escalates to throwing things, damaging property, or persons, then riot control should deal with the situation. not necessarily armoured vehicles and people carrying M4s, but people with those shields. if shots are fired, regardless of what they were fired at, then armoured vehicles and SWAT (Or the equivalent in that city) should be utilized. I would ont want to be sitting in a Crown Vic with someone shooting a 9mm at me.

Now, I, personally am right in between the whole pro-anti gun laws. I think people should have guns, for use for target practice and hunting, but they should not be allowed to be concealed. In Canada, you can get your Un-restricted gun license, and your restricted gun license. You un-restricted gun license allows you to have hunting rifles, shotguns, the basic stuff. But the restricted license 9Which is decently hard to get) allows you to buy handguns and other guns. Some guns you have to go through a VERY complicated process to purchase.

Now I don't know American laws and legal stuff that great so please do correct me if anything I said is incorrect.

Well, the right to own a gun and the right to carry a gun are two different discussions for me. Other than that, everything you've typed in your comment sounds about right in my opinion.

Not possible, this is just a blatant insult.

I have as well, glad he's getting ready to leave. We need some new leadership. Voting for him twice was a huge mistake I made.

And how many presidents have you seen in your lifetime? If I had to take a guess I would say you were born in the late 90s-early 2000s (average age on these forums) so you are probably not old enough to remember Bill Clinton so you've pretty much only been through two presidents. Not to mention the fact that you probably don't know much more about any president other than what you see in the media (like most people in this country).

People shouldn't be allowed to carry concealed weapons who is liscensed?  That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWoLGC-n4i4

Well that is your opinion. But how can we absolutely trust those people? From my understanding it is pretty easy to get such a license (correct me if I'm wrong), so anyone could go in, and legally carry a gun around? I guess we will have to agree to disagree. In canada though, I am quite happy with our current laws.

It depends on the state. Here in Maryland getting a concealed carry permit is difficult. There are "may issue" and "shall issue" states. May issue states may give you a concealed carry permit if you meet the proper qualifications, but they don't have to. Shall issue states are required to grant you a concealed carry permit if you meet the qualifications. Maryland is a may issue state.

Thanks for clearing that up. So I take it the Pro-Gun people want Shall Issue nation wide?

Yeah, but that isn't going to happen. I think there might be a few states that have no/minimal restrictions at all, but I'm not sure. No states have completely banned it but some municipalities throughout the country have.

Interesting. I wish you all the best of luck with these issues lol.

It's not as easy as you think to get a license.  In the US we have something called the "Second Amendment Right."  If a scumbag wants a gun for crime, they will get a gun no matter what.  The problem with gun control is that only good people that follow the law won't get guns, not criminals.

I have been here for 4 presidents, and Obama is by far the WORST.
