  • It's still only speculation however. Rockstar have not out and out said "Yes we support modding" they've only mentioned about how airtight they plan to make GTA Online to prevent anyone having an unfa

I heard something about both Skidrow and 3DM gave up on trying to crack it open and are just waiting for the game to release.

Trying to crack what?

Crack the pre-load of GTA:V, I presume.

I think the best option would be to just implement traffic stops into the game first, then work on callouts. With the traffic stops at least it can just a be a simple pull to the right and ticket type situation. Then role play it from there until callouts and stuff are released.

The only mod I want for now is to be able to throw the empty weapon away, like in all previous games. With no need to buy weapons there's no point in earning money in this game, apart from rare property purchases...

No, two mods: to fix this goddamn Interceptor livery.

However, I think I'll have to wait at least several months before some decent car mods released. When was the first modded car for GTA IV released, I wonder.

Something tells me we'll see a LSPD:FR mod sooner than we think. The Heists update essentially gave us everything we need, including a Police Station interior (unless that was already in the game), uniforms, and there's an abundance of different livery styles and sirens. Then there's the ambient events like muggings and robberies, car/bike jacking, etc. There's clearly enough to at least give us a very basic foundation of the mod, allowing third party modders to step in and help the team expand.

Yes, there is more to work with.. If they can work with it.

You're forgetting the part where modders need to figure out how to access all those events, get the AI to accept you as a comrade, get AI cops to spawn and come to your location, etc. Things take time.

I understand, but my point was, that they have way more to start with than they did with GTA IV, and look how that turned out.
