What do you do with lights?

Featured Replies

With most CVPI mods, there are usually the main lights and then the yellow ones. What do you use each one for? Myself:

Main lights: Usually for pursuits and driving fast.

Yellow: Warning lights, like when pulling people over.

I use the main ones for, pursuits, responding to certain calls, traffic stops. the warning/yellow lights for when I'm in a traffic stop, giving out parking tickets, when I arrive on scene.

I usually use the main ones when responding to calls or the initial approach of a traffic stop.... the hazard or yellow lights I use when i come on scene of a "non emergency" or not a major call. i also use them if im off on the side of the road for a certain period of time

Main: My emergency lighting (for anything where I need emergency lights: traffic stops, pursuits, responses, etc.)

Secondary (the yellow ones): Depends on the car, but when they are yellow [on my FBI car, they're red and blue, and are just more emergency lights], they are an arrowstick. I use them for traffic control, and as a replacement for hazard lights.

Yellow I only use for traffic tickets (which I hardly bother to give out), roadside assistance, keeping the AI cops safe from AI drivers as they walk back to their patrol cars, etc.

I only use the traffic advisor lights (yellow) when I'm in the middle of the road or on the busy roads during traffic stops.

When it comes to callouts, unless it is a shots fired I will usually turn off everything including lights and sirens as I turn into the street.

I've got an AST (Alaska(Alderney) State Police) charger with some odd yellow lights. There are only two and they are directly on the lightbar. I use them mainly for non-emergency calls when I get on scene, when doing patrol where I'm not at an emergency scene, but I'm moving slowly enough that there needs to be some sort of warning, and after I finish a traffic stop, but I'm still on the side of the road. I also leave them on when I get out to leave tickets, or when I park on the side of the road for a domestic.

However, for most of the traditional yellow traffic advisor bars, I use them on traffic stops, when I'm on the side of the road for any reason, and when I'm trying to control a shooting scene.

Pretty much same as most people here. I use yellow secondary lights as a hazzard function. ie: when stopped on the road but not parked.

Usually I use my Primary lights for everything. I use my hazard lights (along with my primary ones) if traffic is moving faster than I am (pulling over, or stopped for whatever reason). Or I just use them to repair my vehicle, lol.

Interesting. The *only* time I will always turn off my lights as I get close is a shots fired (there, I *really* don't want them to know I'm there; on a shootout, I leave the lights on, because they already know the cops are there).

Primary -> Responding Code 2/Code 3, Stopping people

Secondary -> Advise the traffic from a distance that there are cars parked in the road (usually after stopping someone in a traffic stop I pop those)

Primary lights if I'm responding to a call, or making a traffic stop on a highway or busy road (so that's pretty much all the time)

I use the directionals every traffic stop, or just these on non-busy streets. Takedowns, I use at night traffic stops and at alleyway mugging calls :)

I don't use any lights or sirens. I hold a flashlight out the window and yell "whoo-whoo" really loud.

Visit me on youtube. The most common reason for crashing is user error. Make sure you have the latest RAGE, ScripthookV, ScripthookVdotnet and turn off your antivirus. Make sure you have an up to date gameconfig.xml as well. Use Allbo's plugin troubleshooter to find any errors too.
