Just a SIDE NOTE to anyone using ELS - Make sure the RANGE (in the ELS.ini file) is put up to at least 500.  (Talking about Els_Range_Pl, and Els_Range_Ai).  If the AI one is under 300, and I attempt to spawn a Police Vehicle, ELS will force a clean up and delete that vehicle... :(

0.97 uploaded!  Aim'd at crashes and disregards (no spawns).

Backup Callout is a plugin for LCPDFR 1.0d, which uses LCPDFR API calls to plug in fluidly into your game.

Its currently all about assisting a primary officer, which has called dispatch for a additional unit (YOU), to assist him in a high risk traffic stop.

Be careful.  These felons don't want to go back to jail.

1.18[hotfix] addresses the issues of the callout ending without crashing LCPDFR if it fails to create on your computer.

I'm going to start working on my first callout.  One thing I would love to do is back up a Officer.  Most callouts so far seem linear - in the point that if you get a possible drug call, you know what to expect...

So I'm working on a assist call as the secondary for a traffic stop (for starters, its going to be in a serious degree IE stolen, felony stop, wanted, so forth).

Completed Features:

  • Normal Traffic stops added.
  • Low chance of normal out comes going "sour" ;)
  • Traffic requests happen map wide, city and highway.
  • 4 out comes to the traffic stop - all of which can change based on the random statistics given to the felon on creation
  • Assign State or County Police Officers to Highway Traffic stops and assist.

Idea pool + planned features

  •  Suspect flees on foot
  • Add to the INI file the ability to set callout ratio types (no normal traffic stops, all, or some)
  • Dialog between primary and secondary officer before and after incident.
  •  Suspect stays in vehicle - non-comply, locks doors (debating about adding)
  •  Suspect throws drugs on ground (player must collect)
  • Improve spawning of city related felon traffic stops (rarely grabs a bad spot)
  •  Add carspawn options (letting players pick which vehicle in a INI spawn as the primary, and officer uniforms.), add stock spawning variety.
  •  Add spawn points for highway traffic stops (current method needs to grow to handle this)
  •  Add non-felon stops, traffic assists for normal infractions, suspected drugs.
  •     To add, have suspect with drugs chance to flee vehicle and drop drugs.
  • Add ability to search vehicle in more detail.
  • Dabble in seeing if I can make a scripted event to assist as a sobriety administering unit for a possible DUI/DWI call

Ideally as a cover officer I would be to the passenger side door of the first Police Vehicle, never away from any hard cover.

If it is a Felony Stop maybe include a way where the First officer is drawn down on the car and when you get into postion conduct the Felony stop, having the suspect out of the car with hands up while the officer arrests them

Noted!  This is the stuff I'm after.  I'll most likely use this method for a felony stop and stolen vehicle stop.  Any input on other stops?

I'd say a mix of both felony and regular stops, an officer can do a felony stop at anytime for any reason. A simple red light violation turns out to have warrants it could be safer to do a felony stop.  I love stuff like this that is like you said nonlinear. because policing is nonlinear. There is a thousands different ways any call could go and i really look forward to seeing this

yeah i agree. a mix of felony and regular would be awesome. omg i can't wait to try this :teehee:

All good input guys.  I'm still moving forward.  I think the first release my goal is to have it so you assist in the arrest, (minor traffic backup will come later), arresting of AI could go down these paths...

Officer orders out - searches, arrests, no issues.

Officer orders out - suspect takes off, pursuit takes places under standard LCPDFR uses.

Officer orders out - does not comply, stays in vehicle (Debating about locking doors)

Officers orders out - exits vehicle, facing officers, does not comply - maybe goes to fighting stance/fist fight (Zap time?)

Officers orders out - exits vehicle brandishing weapon (who knows what will happen from there.)

Maybe make it so that the officer is still in his car when you pull up? So when you get out, they get out at the same time?

Also, what happens if you have a partner? I know this might be where it gets complicated, but are they just going to follow you around or run up to the passenger side of the stopped vehicle with their gun drawn like they always do?

At first I did have the officer wait in his vehicle - but I had to make a trade off.  My options are have him in his car, with his lights off (so the siren is not on), or have him out of the car with his lights on and his siren off...

I cannot disable the siren (yet) while hes inside - still looking into it. So I choose to let the officer stay outside the car.  Which one do you thinks better?  When you pull up his lights and sirens will be going, he'll be in the car, and exit leaving lights only on - or have him outside gun drawn (because for now these are felony/high risk stops), with lights on?  I've done a lot of updating and will post a update soon.  So far I'm almost complete coding the peaceful arrest,  or where he gets back into his vehicle after ignoring cop commands.  Just got a few position fixes to make on the arrest animations to make it look good, then decide what I want to do from there (have him take arrested back to station, or use the standard call for backup transport call, if I can find it)

before the days out I want to have it so it can end peacefully, he'll get out and decide to run (getting back in vehicle), he'll refuse and get out and take off, and lately he'll get out guns blazing/ flee on foot with a weapon.

Oh, that makes sense, because the scripting isn't really optimized for ELS.

So for the other part, the only times you see two (or more) cop cars in a single traffic stop are when it's a felony stop or a double stop, where there are two stopped vehicles. In the early stages of your mod, you should probably stick to making it a felony stop just to make it more realistic. Can you make the cop stand behind his open door? So after you get out of your car, he aims at the stopped car and orders the driver out?

Most use ELS, so is it possible to have ELS activated for the scripted cop? I mean, I think it would get the fun flowing rolling up code turkey to assist an officer who's already drawn on the car.

Already done!  He stands guns drawn with door open waiting for backup.  I'll update a video here shortly.  I've completed successful, peaceful arresting of the suspect, and given the suspect the option to get back into his vehicle and flee.

Its only going to keep growing in terms of what can happen, but I'm getting excited because its coming together.

Issues that I'll have to face -

A improved spawning system... I need to exclude dangerous spawn places (like alleyways with NOT enough room for the event)

Improve the AI pull away driving when it ends peacefully, because I let LCPDFR transport functions take back over, it leads to them in general always ramming the hell outta the vehicle in front of them.  I'm going to see if I can grab back the driver of the or maybe just force the steering over a bit more until he clears without making it unstable.

I really like the idea, maybe have the callouts more on motorways, because with the things I've seen (On TV :P) is that more stops happen with more than 1 patrol car on highways (not sure if true, but that's my understanding).

Can't wait to see it.
