Today was a very busy day across the world. The biggest news is that the Saudi King Abdullah has died at the age of 90. Apparenty, he had his ducks in a row as far as passing the torch on. While I have always had good thoughts about him the comments i've read across the spectrum today have spoken very negatively of him. Either way, his death could affect a major ally of the United States so we will just have to wait and see what happens. In other news, the President of Yemen resigned today after pressure from rebel forces. They had apparently reached a deal the other day over concerns from both sides; however, apparently it was not to be. Rebel forces did not leave the grounds of the Presidency and he resigned this morning quite abruptly. I have no idea why so many countries can't have peaceful transitions of power. It is beyond me. The Doomsday Clock was moved forward two minutes today. The clock now sits at 3 minutes til midnight. Many reasons were given including the situation between Russia and United States, global warming, and failure of world leaders to control urgent problems. The last time the clock was this close to midnight was in 1983 during the height of the Cold War. Lastly, US President has refused to meet Prime Minister Netanyahu when he speaks to Congress in March. The White House said his visit is a breach of protocol by coming so close to Israeli elections. well, in theory, once the clock hits midnight it means the world is virtually at risk of being destroyed. It's more of a visual understanding of how bad things are on the planet. Considering how serious they take the doomsday clock, I would have to say i'd be very worried if it really did hit 12:00

As for the doomsday clock... meh we're always on the edge of world extinction, it would be a nice change of pace to wake up one day and see everyone in an uproad because world peace has finally come to pass... I think that was a non-sensical statement, but what ever you get my point.

It's a symbolic clock that was made to address increasing fears during the Cold War, a countdown to all out nuclear war although it is applied to any form of a global catastrophe. Basically the closer it gets to midnight, the closer we are to doomsday, hence the "Doomsday Clock"

Obama is a coward douche of a president. Regardless of the "ill timing", Obama's presidency has been filled with lackluster support to our ONLY consistent and stable ally in the shitstorm we know as the middle east. 

Combine that with Obama's cowardly foreign policy and it's no wonder this doom clock is ticking so close to it's end. There's a reason militants are running rampant in the world and Russia is moving forward with plans to open bases in America's backyard (borderline violation of the Monroe Doctrine- borderline as they want bases not to conquer the nations so somewhat does not apply). The actions of Russia and other nations in these past few years has been a direct response of having a president of a country over-involved in world issues that refuses to lead from the front.

I used the M4's as an example. I myself would use the Swedish AK5c.
