Will ENBs be able to alter the effect of these lights? I don't think they're vanilla, so probably not :( so will there be a file where you can adjust the visual settings of the lights?

And the lights will be drawn by using the 3D coordinates of their positions around the vehicle, am I correct? So the author doesn't have to attach anything to the lights in a modeler, just give the 3D coordinates. Is it possible the can edit the coordinates in game? That way you can find the best coordinate without having to keep restarting?

Yeah, it is possible and I'll be working with Lt.Caine on this topic - he's pretty good at interfaces in GTA IV and whatnot, so it will be interesting to see what we can come up with in regards to in-game editing of the lights.  Again, I doubt this will make the first release as I'd quite like to get something out sooner rather than later.

As far as ENB goes - if it can affect the default lights in GTA IV like the headlights, streetlights, taillights, etc. then it can also affect these ones.  There won't be a file where you can adjust the visual settings of the lights, however you will be able to do it within the actual light definitions themselves inside the vehicles, meaning some vehicles could even have brighter lights than others.

  • Just to let everyone know, we will be working on this as a team, all of us, after the release of 0.95, which won't be too far away.

  • The possibilities offered by this are only really restricted in terms of how much I can code in. Basically, you have a system where you are just drawing lights at a position within the game, so the t

Will this work on non-police car slots? (other than ambulance and firetruck) because that was one thing I loved about ELS. I love having EMS supervisors, etc.

And how exactly are lights mapped to the vehicle?

Using offset positions from the centre of the vehicle - it's the only way you can do it seemingly :(

As for other vehicles, yes, it works with anything provided it is a valid model.

You'll also be able to turn lights on without the sirens, correct? And will it have it's own siren (like ELS) I don't care if cars pull over to it (if they could, that would be awesome too) but I'd like non-police cars have the ability to use the ELS sirens.

So I've just finished my weekly ELS-DN coding session and it now has support for all three pattern types (WRNL, PRML, SECL).  Additionally, I've done some work on the LED light type:

That's the Buffalo from all the previous pictures with the same rotator lights and a new LED traffic advisor.

ELS-DN, or ELS.NET? Or will it be like SHDN, with multiple acceptable names?

And is ELS.NET basically "like ELS, using coronas instead"? Will the configs look ELS-like (aside from the actual lighting going in the config)?

I literally cannot wait anymore. The anticipation is killing me.

Im not sure if that has already been asked, but just to make sure;

-ELS Dot Net will have working vehicle-damage when activated, not like ELS does?

-ELS Dot Net won't have the stupid door-bug when activated, like ELS does?

-When can we expect a first release or at least a video?

I am wondering the same.

I have been a fan of LCPDFR and GTA IV for a while, but just registered.

I saw this thread and it majorly excited me, I hope this project is still being worked on!

I agree. I'd rather an anticipated, thorough release than a premature release only to discover many bugs and problems.

I certainly am very excited, however.
