Since this is due out after the next release of LCPDFR (If I understood correctly) this can be used with previous versions of LCPDFR? It looks very promising as well! I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of this and ELS v7.

O rly?! Lol This looks really awesome. I'm glad to see there is an alternate to ELS due out. I do like ELS a lot, but I definitely want to give this a go. Looking forward to it!

Hmm, from the screen it looks like the lights will turn off completely, instead of flashing high-beams or brake lights. Is there a way to do that instead?

Will ENBs be able to alter the effect of these lights? I don't think they're vanilla, so probably not :( so will there be a file where you can adjust the visual settings of the lights?

 

And the lights will be drawn by using the 3D coordinates of their positions around the vehicle, am I correct? So the author doesn't have to attach anything to the lights in a modeler, just give the 3D coordinates. Is it possible the can edit the coordinates in game? That way you can find the best coordinate without having to keep restarting?

Damn I thought this mod uses extra parts, just like ELS. Why coronas? Others won't be able to see it in MP, also imo coronas give a worse effect then what the extra parts can in ELS.

 

Because this is specifically designed to be for people who don't want to use ELS. You want the extras system? ELS. Don't want it, ELS.N.

Are you going to be using the ELS v7 trick of splitting car config into separate files in their own folder?

Kanyo, its necessary for all to understand that use of extras will pretty much make it ELS again because of the bug which refreshes the car while switching extras. Whats the point of all this effort then if you're gonna eventually remake it into a mod which already exists? And like someone said already, if you want extras, ELS is the way to go.

I disagree. Coronas give a better effect, they are after all the way in which all other light in GTA IV is displayed.

Well grady.featherstone's mod uses coronas too, and I don't want to diss people, but that doesn't look good. It can be seen through the car, and it was just a big circle sprite over the lightbar. I really do wonder how will it work in mp, if it does work in mp, and if you can place the coronas wherever you want to, then I think I'll like it.

This is an old picture, but as you can see, it definitely does not look like a circle sprite if you do it right:

As far as being visible through the car,in the screenshot I posted with the FBI car, there's actually lights in the back that are on - as seen here with my fix for the problem disabled:

Also, by default, the ELS lights look pretty bad - you have to either change the emissive properties of them (which itself causes other problems like the taxi signs and still doesn't look that good IMO) or you have to use ENB which some people, me included, just can never get to work properly or not look like dog crap.

this looks awesome and promising... i am already bored of ELS and recently released EVCS... but this looks good...

 

any information for modders?? i mean how to exactly make a car ELS DotNet Enabled?? is it all in the scripts or some kind of texture/extra mapping like ELS has to be done???

From what Sam's said, it's more like EVCS-enabling it (and as soon as he releases the full format spec, I'll see if I can write a program to convert config files between the two - the features don't exactly match, but the coordinates do).
