Map of The World Based On Corruption, Top 10 Corrupted Nations

Featured Replies

I can tell you the Corruption map is inaccurate. Certain countries have more corruption than others. But it doesn't show it. Like Country A is more corrupt than B but the map shows B as more corrupt than A

EDIT: Scratch that lol... Can't read properly today... In a holiday mode already. Surprised to see my country ranking 5th in the map...

I'm not particularly surprised to see Singapore ranked highly - from what I've heard, while its government isn't the sort I would ever want to even *think* about living under, it's efficient and fair.

No surprise with New Zealand being the cleanest (along with Denmark). Australia's doing pretty well too.

What's the deal with the uncoloured countries? I'm guessing that means no surveys were taken there or something along those lines?

I see an unaccuracy.

Iceland is one of the safest countries in the world, and there it's ranked at the 12th place only.

That's why I dislike this kind of "ranking". What's it based on? Homicide rate? General crime rate? Stability of the country, of the government? Economy? Tax evasion? Corruptions of the members of the government? (If this one is taken into account, most of the developped countries would be corrupted to the core, but obviously I bet this isn't even mentioned).

The last one. Exclusively the last one - hence, "corruption perception index". Safety on the streets of the country is irrelevant (even if it were relevant, I'd consider 12th out 177 to be "one of the best in the world").

It's a sea of red worldwide.

Cheers.

To be fair, that's partly because their color scale goes is only yellow on the high end (if the colors went from green to red, you'd see a lot less red). It's also partly because a lot of low-scoring countries have a large land area (exhibit A: Russia).

Fair enough. Yes, they should alter their colour scheme for next years polling as you have stated.

Cheers.
