This topic had been already asked, and seems like a "no" that it might not be out for GTAV. :(

I no it would be hard but, you have got a bit of a head start if its the same RAGE engine,

so can you not convert stuff from IV to V?

ps: just imagine roming round the streets of LS (LA) aresting drug dealers and muggers (good times LOL)

Yes, but you would still need to move al of the call spawn points.

so true bu it shoudnt be as much work as it was for making it from the beginning again.

No.

Although it's the same engine, its a newer, more updated, version.

Think of the frostbite engine, it went something like this:

Frostbite 1, Frostbite 2.1 (Bad Company 2) and Frostbite 2 (Battlefield 3)..

BF3 Featured new lighting systems, new animations etc.

TL:DR; Nope, LCPDFR could not simply be ported over to GTA V

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

It's too early to make assumptions. It might just be possible to port it over like that, once asi loaders, and the scripthooks get updated to work with GTA V. Yes, it also might very well be, that it won't work as easy as that. We'll have to wait and see if Rockstar will use a new engine or the same than in GTA IV.

if you need to rewite lcpdfr for gta 5 will you stop making versions for gta iv?

They will most likely continue to support LCPD:FR for GTAIV, but I don't think we have the manpower to properly develop and test both, so I'd imagine after a test run of a GTA V mod that G17 would probably stick with that. I can only speculate though. Also while I know we couldn't possibly port every single bit of LCPD:FR over, I'm sure the C# scripts are more than salvageable. This means that while a new LCPD:FR (or SAPD:FR if you want) will take some time, G17 will have a significant advantage going into it.

Well if gta V even comes out for computer, thats the problem. I would believe that since in the video that was released from rockstar and all the new objects in it, ( dogs, cars, ets ) that the lcpdfr would have to be rebuilt Completely because it would be a pain trying to recode everything. Also it would probly be unlikely for G17 to stop making lcpdfr for gta iv just because its a great game. But till the game actually comes out and is disected to see if thats all possible, no one can really cant say anything.

I think you should leave it for SAPD:FR team :), ask them first

As far as I'm aware, the person who created the SAPD:FR mod for SA asked Sam for permission to use the name / interface.

It would be great to have an SAPD: FR for GTA V. Highway patrol would be taken to a new level, as it looks like cars in GTA V actually drive above 45mph on the highway! The map also looks to be much bigger, so callouts and pursuits could be much more expansive. The AI is also something that is something to look forward to. They might actually be consistently coordinated!

Sure, but they have nothing to do with it at all when it comes to GTA V, as they certainly changed much about the map, locations and mechanics compared to GTA:SA, and I'd bet my ass also compared to GTA IV.

The SAPD:FR team has the IP, so to say ... But that's a totally different issue than the general thought of a G17 modification for GTA V.

But you know that SAPD:FR is FOR san andreas, and the developers still exists

Yes, I was merely stating that they asked Sam for permission to use the same layout / interface that LCPDFR has.

I'm well aware it's for San Andreas
