Yup. I grew up in the south so for me, police use all blue and fire/ems use all red. That's just how it's been most of my life so that's what I'm used to I guess.

In Croatia all emergency vehivles use all blue except government agency. Towing service uses amber as well as security. Our emergency vehicles are Skoda Rapid and Octavia. Government uses BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz...

i love all blue lights..dunno why..i just do :D

All blue of course and that's why I fell in love with FHP some years ago:

but they decided to change into this style:

I can't see the pictures  However, I like FHP's new light set-up with the (mostly) red and blue Javelin + the blue dashlight (And the one or two amber traffic advisors in the back flashing simultaneously). But the older cruisers with the blue FS Vision looked really good too I have to say.

Anyways, I like red and blue or all blue (Fire apparatus and ambulances should however have all red with a touch of white).

Hey now! I know south Florida isn't really considered "the south" but they have lots of agencies with red/blue lights down there.

Red and blue. Blue is more visible (in my opinion). My department uses a blue Whelen Liberty on their Explorers with a few red and blue LED's behind the back windshield and grille/push bar. I doesn't matter much to me though, as long as they do their job properly.

Actually they did a study several years ago and found out that red is more visible during the day time and blue is more visible during the night time.

For me it I guess it just depends on what mood I am in. Just no all red (hate that NY does that)! Sometimes I think the all blues look really good then sometimes I enjoy having the red and blue. I grew up in Fairfax County, VA (just outside DC) and the county PD up there runs all blue then I moved to Tampa, FL where they run red and blue. I have noticed that having white strobes makes the lights stand out a lot more.

In the United Kingdom we use blue for all emergency services (Fire/Ambulance/Police/National Crime Agency/Coastguard/Other). However fire services blend orange, white and blue together or just blue and white. Police also sometimes use white with there blue lights, but more commonly rear reds to alert drivers that the vehicle is stopped or slowly moving. Highways Agency may use orange with rear reds and utility, breakdown and construction units may use amber/orange. I like blue the best, shows up really well.

haha I posted a thread like this years ago! Anyway, I prefer red/blue, the only thing that they use around here is R/B and only recently when I was in Chicago did I get to see all blue in person. I don't dislike all blue, I think it looks cool but I just prefer the red/blue. To me red/blue is classic police colors and they pop more as far as visibility goes. As for the all red option or red/white I don't mind it as long as its on a non law enforcement vehicle like Fire or EMS. I don't believe that all red or red/white should ever be used on a police car, I think it looks horrible. A good example is the NYPD, can't stand it, plus those old FedSig halogen rotator Visions they use don't help either. The new Vision SLR's I love but the red/white still kills it for me but the lightbar preference is off topic.

I believe halogen rotators are only on Vectors.

I prefer all blue. I've only seen all reds once and that was during my trip to NY. As a lot of people before me stated, Europe almost entirely uses all blues (also on fire or EMS vehicles).

I think blue makes a lot more sense. Blue is the only color that is not present in a normal traffic environment so blue makes emergency vehicles really stick out from the rest. Also: European history explains the use of all blues. Blue is the only color with a wavelength that doesn't reach higher altitudes. So during WW2 it made sense to equip emergency vehicles with all blues to hide them from enemy bombers.

I personally thing blue just looks better and gives better visibility because it isn't used anywhere else. So even if red might be better during the day, u still can clearly identify emergency vehicles because they're the only ones with blue lights.

Blue/Red FTW!!

I just love Blue/Red setups.

I don't like All Blue much, but it does look good on some setups.

Technically all red is classic police colors, back in the day they just mounted a red beacon on top of police cars. And like I stated earlier in this post, they actually did a study (can't find it at the moment) where they tested which colors were most visible and they determined that red is the most visible in the day time and blue is most visible at night.
