The Wasteland - callouts for Bohan

The Wasteland 1.0.0

A pack of callouts and world events for the borough of Bohan. The mod is focused on recreating the conditions of policing in high-crime areas of NYC. You can expect dynamic gameplay as well as ordinary police work.

Due to the fact that the pack is still in development stage every aspect of gameplay may be changed.

List of calls:

1. Burglary in the past
Take a report and look for a suspect. Monitor your radio, another sector car may spot your suspect and need your assistance in pursuing him.

2. A car on fire
Cars in Bohan are rather in poor condition. When FD is busy (in South Bohan: always) you got to back them up with some easier jobs.

3. A car is being stripped
It might be stolen car so be there ASAP before they dismantle it to atoms. Make sure you don't spook the "mechanics" with your siren!

4. Sale of narcotics
Drugs are one of the biggest problem in the neibourhood. Help the community and take another dealer from the streets.

5. Homeless people harassing LTA passengers
Just askin' for a dime, huh? A simple question may turn into a violent attack, respond quick when it’s dark!

6. EMS is requesting assistance
Help paramedics with the aggressive patient.

7. Gang-related assault
Despite of gang activity and violent attacks, people are still jogging after dark. Be on scene as soon as possible, otherwise the victim may not survive.

8. A mugging victim calls for help
Mugging is an everyday crime in Bohan. Go and help a complainant. Drive her to the hospital or canvass the area to find a suspect.

9. Prisoner transport
An ordinary job of a patrolman. Transport a prisoner to the station house.

10. Assist patrolman with a "man with a gun" call
Respond on a request of your fellow Officers. You got to be there in case of hell break loose.

11. An unconscious man
Street events attract people like a magnet. Control the crowd until EMS arrives.

12. A street fight
Common occurence in every busy area. Your task is to restore public order.

13. Drug usage
Bohan is highly infested with drugs and you are the one who is suppose to fight it. Take all possible safety measures while handling calls connected with intoxication.

14. Commercial burglary
Store owners are struggling to keep their businesses running. Without police assistance they won’t make it. Be in the right place at the right time to catch goons who destroy the local business.

15. Robbery of street gamblers

What gives more fun than shooting dice with friends? And wherever there is money there are robbers. Keep your gun prepared while responding to this call!

...and all of them with different versions. Together there are tens of scenarios!

Have fun!

  • ---   That aside, it's great to see this mod released to much critical acclaim. You've done some great work here, LtFlash, and I cannot commend your efforts enough. :)

  • The mod has reached 10,000 downloads. Thank you!

  • I think this is just the kind of work Robocop needs in Liberty City. Great work!

I've only been able to test 2 callouts so far. Homeless people harassing LTA people, which was really nothing much. I only asked for the IDs of 2 homeless people in the area whom had red arrows on top of them.

The other call was a bit buggy. It was the burning car call. When I arrived on scene, all I saw was a car that had a lot of sparks coming out of it. I tried to extinguish it with the policehelper extinguiser, then I called for a tow truck to take it away, but that just resulted in lcpdfr getting an error and saying I needed to reload my game.

What am I supposed to do on these calls, other then what I did.

Also how do I clear a call?

I was able to get 2 calls too like Sgt.Kanyo and those 2 calls were exactly the same, but when i got burning car call i tried to disconnect the battery and then while i was doing that car blew up i left standing laughing my ass off.

@Sgt.Kanyo: as I posted in Download section: they are multi-scenarios. One time homeless just hanging around and talkin', another they will act aggressive etc. It depends on 1) random number which determine a scenario, 2) current day time, 3) location of the spawn point. A car on fire: you just missed a help box with instruction - that's what @Adm did good and got a rare scenario of this call  :teehee:

Calls set themselves as finished automatically or you can also use [End] to force-end them in any time. It's useful in some cases when eg. canvassing the area is not giving any result.

To see how it actually works you need to try it a couple of times. I wanted to avoid a "Rambo" mod when every call leads to a massive shootout with at least 50 policemen.

Boy, I've had this vehicle on fire callout twice already and it blows up in the middle of a choked street starting a chain reaction. Is there a trick how to disconnect the battery properly? I just press E as instructed. Its like defusing a ticking bomb lol.

Guys, thanks for your kind words. I hope that you'll like even more while discovering all features I prepared for you.

@Troy: it convinces me to decrease the chance to explode so the risk factor will stay but there won't be a Baghdad-syndrome anymore LOL. I have an idea how make it more realistic but I can't tell if it's gonna work or not, GTA happens to be capricious. You'll know in one of the next update.

@FCV96: many thanks  :biggrin:

So do I just evacuate the area beforehand, get out of my cruiser screaming, "I AM GOING FOR GLORY!" and jump into it knowing that I would end up in hospital regardless? Its almost guaranteed to blow up anyway like the car doesn't have a technical fault but was left on purpose by some Talibani Jihadist.

@Troy: You just do your job, there's always some risk, like when you're in shootout with 6 or 7 individuals (LCPD:FR native call) :P. The chance to explode is set now to several percent. You had the possibility to test that feature too often. The problem lies in balance which will be improved thanks to your comments and opinions.

@C.O. N.Y.: do you use LCPD:FR 1.0c? It won't run on another version. You can also include a part of LCPDFR.log where there should be some information about a cause of that error.

This is exactly what I wanted to see in LCPD:FR. Typical police work. These callouts sound like a lot of fun.

No problem. You mod these amazing scripts for us. I don't mind giving back a little. I'll keep you posted on other callouts as I come across them. Thanks for making Bohan an interesting place now. Since it was the smallest island, I never went there for patrolling as it literally feels like a wasteland with very little to do for us law enforcers.

I encountered a script error while playing today though. It was nothing. Just a tiny error the script encountered but then went about its business like normal. Thought you might wanna have a look:

If you decide to decrease the risk factor for the cars to blow up, perhaps it would be good to store values for those types of events in a configurable .ini file. :)

That, and I don't mind the explosions too much:
