Quick question, why hasn't this been made into a cop car yet http://www.gta4-mods.com/vehicles/1971-dodge-polara-v10-f26633? I mean it looks very similar to the Plymouth that we so love and adore, and I believe that the polara was rather common as a cop car.

That was requested further up in the thread, and I also believe that Ringo approached the author of that model with the same request. We can only hope!

That I did. I tried asking him for a police version in the comments, but he never got back to me. I also tried to PM him, but I don't think I can.

EDIT: Yes, I cannot PM him. I might try another way.

Sorry for the double post, the edit button wouldn't cooperate. So I made a new comment asking for permission to edit the car, let's see if he says yes. In the meantime, since we're talking about Polaras, here are some pics of the CHP.

A Twinsonic (one of the versions I'm hoping to make, if BloggerRoss says yes to my edits)

And here's a vintage pic of a traffic stop.

If a Twinsonic version of that Polara does come to fruition, I'd love to see an NYPD version. While the NYPD didn't use Polaras, the TwinSonic was experimented with in the early 1970s, and the Signal Stat Dual Comm resembles a TwinSonic.

The 1969 Fury and Polara were truly sexy vehicles.

About the Polara for GTA, Poctik is active at GTAForums, I could try contacting him there but, is there anybody here who would be willing to make the conversion to a cop car (just in the hypothetical case he doesn't want to make it but give us the unlocked model to make it)?

They indeed were sexy cars.

As for the Polara, I would be 100% down to convert it from civie to patrol car, but I don't know anything about Zmodler, so I'd be brand new to it. Most people have laughed or scoffed at me asking about the Polara as a cop for GTAIV and said that I would be wasting my time because no one wants it. I thought about getting the right setup and just trying to do it myself a few times now (permitting we get the car rolling *no pun intended*)

It's admirable that you've considered attempting to learn zmodeler in order to satisfy a small niche of enthusiasts. For that, I offer my sincerest thanks. :D

Well someone has to share some of the beauties! :D

Also, I found this from the same channel as the Felony Stop video

It's narrated by Jack Webb or Joe Friday to most!

I was watching some older music videos last night when three of them particularly stood out. Truth be told, I nearly had a heart attack when these pulled up because I was so surprised. :D

Cruel Summer by Bananarama is a classic song, but if you skip the video to about 1:54 and watch onward from there until 2:54, there's a nice treat in store! [i'd advise you to watch until the end of the video though; there's some hilarious dancing at the end.]

----

Don't Talk to Strangers by Rick Springfield is fantastic, but at starting at about 0:36 and then every subsequent time the refrain of the song plays again, you'll likely find something interesting!

---

Word Up! by Cameo is a video that is somewhat odd to say the very least, but watch through the beginning and notice the vehicle in the background. :D

The other day I heard the song Word Up watching some flick and immediately came to my mind that sensation of having heard it during the childhood, like some kind of deja vu. The truck with the odd cab of the first clip is a Mack U600, in the case that anybody wonders it.

Continuing with the music clips, in this scene of the beginning of the movie The Wall (1982), around the minute 6:00, there can be seen multiple cop cars (fake CHP) equiped with Twinsonics, a motorcycle and a step van and a good amount of police brutality.

Then there's this short scene where the British riot police responds to some mob breaking into stores.

I'm glad that I could add to that deja vu then, haha. Thanks for the Mack truck info; it certainly does have a cab that isn't quite normal!

The Pink Floyd videos had some atmosphere, that's for sure. [i didn't see any brutality with the fake CHP scene though; all of those uses of force were justified and in response to resisting/assault IMO.]

So I'm assuming I'm not the only one here who likes adam-12 eh? Well whether or not you like the show this website has quite a bit about lapd equipment from the era! http://www.adam12code3.com/

That's certainly a treasure-trove of information! I never got the chance to watch Adam-12, but have been planning to do so. Looks like you just bumped it up a little higher on my priority list!

Ah! Do it. It's pretty good. It's crazy to think the show started in 1968 and ended in 71 or 72. Every time the LAPD changed something (cars, uniforms, weapons, other equipment) the show changed to reflect it. That's why 1-Adam-12 went from a 67/68/69 Belvedere to a Matador and so forth. Also, the dispatcher saying the famous "1-Adam-12, 211 in progress..." was an actual dispatcher. Thank Jack Webb for that. He wanted the show to be as realistic as he could.

Sidenote 1: Also crazy that the second episode in season 1 has to do with an infant dying. Back in 1968, that's some really heavy stuff for back then.

Sidenote 2: The station that 1-Adam-12 is based in, is the Rampart division of the LAPD. The show Southland, also was based out of the Rampart division.

If you have netflix they have all of the seasons, I'm currently on season 5. They also have emergency a show about the lafd, and I believe dragnet as well.

If I remember right, all are by Jack Webb right? I know that they all exist at the same "universe" or  time (at least Dragnet 67, Emergency, and Adam 12). I watched an episode of Dragnet 67 and on the radio they had 1-Adam-12 responding with Joe Friday and his partner. Also, I read about how Jack Webb wanted to do a Dragnet 1982, and have Kent McCord (Officer Pete Malloy) be Webb's parter, but Webb passed away.
