People don't kill their selves for fun, they do it as they see it's the only way to truly escape a problem. I too do not believe you should kill yourself as there is a lot of help you can get; I think calling her a coward for killing herself is a little harsh and insensitive though. Would you have called her a coward when she went to work as a trooper everyday? Chances are you would of said she's really brave.

 

Poor girl, hope the family is holding up as well as they can.

Law enforcement suicide is a huge problem.

 

Having two parents who are police officers and who have had co-workers taker their own lives it is disgusting to call these people cowards. The things these officers may be dealing with in their lives is something we will never know.

 

A 25 year old police officer just took his life in Quebec. So sad to see this young trooper take her own life.

 

I hope you don't plan a future in law enforcement iiKondrad, lack of humility is not something police forces need in officers who will be responding to suicide calls.

I don't support suicide, but still, RIP. I thought that this was a killed in the line of duty type death though....

Wow, you're harsh.  You don't know what was going on with her life issues to say such words.  Must have been bad, and she felt she had no way out unfortunately.  You should show a little more compassion, G-d forbid you should have such bad and painful issues in your life that would cause you to think suicide is the only solution...well that's what she went through, probably for a long time.

 

I feel bad for her and her family.  Prays are in order, not vilification.

On the topic at hand: Sad event but; I'll leave it to the family of the deceased to mourn their loss, they don't need meaningless messages from a stranger in a place far, far away whom they'll never meet or know.

Oh trust me, I know what people have been through. My dad serving as an Airborne Ranger, he has way more traumatizing experiences, not to mention more intense traumatizing experiences then probably any law enforcement officer could have experienced. He has never considered suicide, or felt depressed as far as I know. I could also mention he has Post Dramatic Stress disorder, he has flash backs, nightmares and all kinds of crazy shit.

Sometimes it's the stuff that people don't show and don't tell that can be really burning away at them inside.

 

R.I.P to the State Trooper, such a young age to die (Not that I value the life if an older person any less than a younger one, but she potentially had a long career ahead of her!).

Yes it's a sad day here in Troop G as we are mourning the tragic loss of one of our sisters in arms. As this is somewhat of a PRO law enforcement site, please be respectful to the others in a time of grief. You never know who is reading this stuff on here and how close they are to the incident...

off topic? its kinda disrespectful in itself to say rest in PIECE when it should be rest in PEACE 

and i like how its off-topic to talk about how the topic is spelled incorrectly that is very much on topic sir.. 

Further more to quote your first Mod Notice "This topic isn't about suicide" so I guess this topic wasn't created to spread the news that a NY State trooper Committed Suicide then..

Nope, it isn't relevant and you surely understand what it says. What is disrespectful is dragging that discussion out of hand, on a topic that isn't about spelling. Feel free to correct me in a PM, away from the thread. 

Being "restricted"  to giving an opinion & being dictated to on how to express an opinion is why I'm not on this site as much, feel free to delete my post, since, that's what's most likely going to happen, since, This site has turned into a dictatorship.

We've seen to many NYS Troopers lost in the past year. Respect comes from her bravery.  Respect comes from her duty.

 

Perhaps Trooper Williams had issues outside her career who knows. 

 

Lastly, i ask you show respect for a fallen officer, there are several members on LCPDFR that are involved in Law Enforcement. We all see this as a fallen sister regardless the circumstances !!

If she died in the line of duty, trying to protect someone - that'd be a whole different story. She killed herself, there is nothing brave about that. Not saying you cant respect her bravery, I just dont have respect for someone that choses to end something as beautiful as there own life.
