And guys just please sign the petition but then seeing how Obama and the whole US government is corrupt to high hell it wont do much just please sign it and hope for the best!

Sadly its the same with pretty much all politicians. No matter how many people we vote out, the person they vote in is still as naive and ignorant.

  • Its not the fact it is private that matters, its the principal. If you allow them to get away with human rights offensives, they will just go and break more and more and more. I have nothing to hide,

And more reasons why you might be a terrorist:

-Use cash

-Change Hair Color/Shave

-Buying more than 2 guns that are similar (because people don't not want to stay with a gun they're familiar with)

-Illogical distance to shoot/buy a gun, despite not defining what that distance is

-Anti-US

I can confirm this list is authentic because I saw an FBI agent give this to the gun shop I was at.

That's really sad in a way

yup I couldn't believe the stupid comments I seen on the first page saying stuff like "who cares? you have nothing to hide what are you worried about?"...really? you do know that the bankers control the government right? and obama is just a puppet...some people have a lot of waking up to do...our liberties are slipping bit by bit and that's how it starts...slowly and stealth, under stand this once your freedoms are gone you will NEVER get them back kudos to the op for not being a dumb sheep

Thank you for posting this, I was gonna do that same.

Its sad all these young children don't understand the reasoning. A generation of "WHO CARES"...

The United States government cannot and does not look into your emails and listen in on your calls. They must have warrants to do so. Even if they do, who cares? What could you be talking about that is so private that some guy hundreds and thousands of miles away will listen too? I just don't understand.. Because then, when the security is loosened and a terror attack occurs because of less monitoring and security, then the same damn people will be complaining about the lack of security anymore

HAHAHA!!! Have Warrants? Your Joking Right! The WASHINGTON POST and the NEW YORK TIMES says Different....

The NSA "is harvesting hundreds of millions of contact lists from personal e-mail and instant messaging accounts around the world, many of them belonging to Americans."— THE WASHINGTON POST

The NSA is collecting the content and metadata of emails, web activity, chats, social networks, and everything else as part of what it calls "upstream" collection.— THE WASHINGTON POST

The NSA "is searching the contents of vast amounts of Americans’ e-mail and text communications into and out of the country."— THE NEW YORK TIMES

"There may be a perfectly legitimate reason why any of the indicators described below is present; we are counting on you to determine when that is not the case."

I'm sure you can see why using cash, constantly changing appearance, buying a lot of the same weapon, traveling a distance to purchase it, and being anti-US can be suspicious. They aren't saying they're always suspicious, just that they can be.

-Use cash - don't want the purchase to be easily traced by credit card; trying to cover their tracks.

-Changing appearance - trying not to be recognized, obviously not just shaving your beard or dying your hair, purposefully altering your appearance so someone who has seen you before would not recognize you.

-Buying multiple of the same weapon - planning something as a group, why would someone buy 10 of the same gun for themselves for defensive or recreational use?

-Traveling - going to a shop far away from home so they wouldn't be connected to that shop

-Anti-US - yes, there are people who are anti-US and are not planning terrorist attacks, but I'm pretty sure every terrorist is anti-US.

None of the things on that list are definitive in anyway, but they are things to be suspicious of.

Honestly damn I would feel safer living in the USSR then the States now just because of all the technology that we now have and how damn invasive the US government has gotten, I  mean it is ridiculous that the UN or EU isn't doing shit about it..........

-Using cash-Bad credit/Doesn't want to deal with bills

-Changing appearance-People change styles

-Multiple similar guns-Competition shooters like to have several guns setup the same so that if one goes down, they can use another one. As an example, some people that shoot High Power use an AR-15 in .223 caliber as their competition gun. However, they may have another one at every competition in case of a major issue so they can continue shooting. High Power shooters that can't afford ammo may also have another AR-15 in .22 caliber (much cheaper ammo) for practice. Then they may have another AR-15 in 5.56 caliber setup for home defense, one set up for long range target shooting with a scope, an AR-15 in .300 blackout for use with a suppressor, various other oddball AR-15 calibers, and NFA items like Short Barreled Rifles that are AR-15s. That could easily make multiple guns of the same style, and that's not even going into families that give their kids guns (under lock and key of course).

There are also the people who are just collectors. I know a guy who at one point had a goal to collect an AK-47 from every country they are manufactured in. It was 43 at the time, and as the countries manufacturing them kept growing, he gave up at a higher number than his original goal.

Traveling-Better deals and/or liking the people at that shop better. And traveling also counted for shooting, so going to a national shooting competition makes some one a terrorist.

-Anti-US With the laws being proposed, almost every single one of the people in the shop I worked at were anti-US. And as I already pointed out in this thread, not liking Republican or Democrat candidates makes the government consider people to be potential terrorists.

Yes, all "perfectly legitimate reason." That doesn't disprove the fact that there are reasons why those acts would be suspicious. The candidate thing is just ridiculous. People are going to have their own opinions that don't match those of Democrats or Republicans, but clearly are not terrorists, and that doesn't even make them anti-US. It shows that they want to make the US what they think will be better. I personally think the two party system is bullshit. You shouldn't vote for a president simply because he/she is Republican or Democratic, you should vote for the one you think will make the best leader of the US. If you are Democratic, but think the Republican candidate is the better one, then you should vote for the Republican.

I also would like to say another thing that also has to do with this surveillance, The war in Afghanistan, declared under false pretenses and who knows if al-qaeda cooperated with the Bush administration just to pass these absurd laws and wage a pointless wars for "peacekeeping"

You really won't get much support if you use this thread for venting remotely related views.

Sorry I didnt mean for It to come out like that i'm just saying they used war to push trough ridiculous laws.

I'm not sure how you managed this, but every single one of your posts on this thread is exactly what my response was to every post you replied to.

+1 to you lad. You're my new best friend.

the cia created al queada the bushs are friends with the bin ladens, bin laden is was a cia asset, so either the government knew about the attacks and let it happen or they were part of the inside job which either way they are using this fraud war of terror to take away our liberties and implement a dictatorship (new world order) what George bush sr talked about in his speech in 9 11 91...coincedently

Okay then?.....Um?.....Yeah, I don't know about all that but I think the big thing is the NSA now and how they are breaking federal law to "spy" on good people for no reason. Not saying that what you said is wrong just saying that just don't seem right. And a little off topic.

Wait, how did we get from a request to sign a petition to conspiracy theories?

Yeah. Not real sure but, hey whatever this is becoming really interesting.

As a member of the United States Government, I think you guys are blowing this way out of proportion. I mean, do you seriously think we care about your internet history, phone calls, or any related information that warrants. Most of that information is used to establish background, associations, and patterns to better understand and interpret what is occurring with the specific persons or group mentioned.

But, I won't elaborate as I don't want to cause a massive argument or cause people to fear that I'm attempting to skew any perspectives. I'm just a fan of all lettered agencies and that complex up in Maryland is a snazzy location.

Plus, I really enjoyed working out of Fort Meade. The place has some nice eateries and the offices were pretty nice for a government complex. Don't take that away from me.

Hope you don't mind me asking .... What do you do for the government? NSA?

I'm in the military in the specific field that we're discussing in this topic. As you know, the NSA is headed by a General-grade officer of the United States Military. So, we have a significant presence there. I was only TDY there for a short amount of time, but really got to experience a lot.
