EA has now announced an upcoming offline mode for Simcity, which will be a free update to everyone who owns the game. I'm now actually considering buying it, which I wasn't before (I HATE online-only games). Anyone else feel similarly?

I sadly bought it before it was possible to have offline mode, but I am excited to be able to play it with my unstable connection once again. I personally like the fact that EA stated that "Nope, this can't be done" and now suddenly they can. *sigh*.

 

Only took them 6 months to put things right.

You know what's even more funny about this?

As has been said the developer said "offline mode can't be done" a slacker sitting at his pc trolling the internet forums, cracked the game to run offline first.

 

Oh EA why are you so made of derp? :)

 

 

FTR I too bought it before this announcement, what's even more funny is that because of their cock ups with their servers I got Battlefield 3 for free, played that more than simcity. MONEY WELL SPENT! :D

I don't mind the way SimCity is setup, I rather enjoy it the game. I got it about a month after release and the servers were somewhat stable. I also like the idea to run a city next to a friend, I think that concept is cool. Just wish some things didn't rely on having an extra player to do things.

Which is great unless you have no friends :(

 

Cause none of my friends have SimCity or Origin. So yeah, single player creative game that I have to play with strangers? Nah thanks.

that is good news. EA Games Done something right! Im very sure in Single player now you will be able to Create Big citys again :) Yay!!

I think they still said that the engine isn't capable of managing a big city... Don't quote me on that though.

Still makes me wonder, did someone at EA actually get a smart idea, is it because angry fans kept on spamming for offline mode or were they somehow forced to make it offline?

You know what don't Make sense. Simcity 2013 is a great game but they limit so many things Which i don't know why. Why make a City Buildier game and give little space to do it in.. Simcity 4 was great Alot of room to Build..but with Simcity 2013 i wonder why they downgrade the space....another example look at the mega-towers. About 5 towers would almost take half of your build space which sucks :( so i am Pray they make plenty of room to build...
