GTA V map being made for IV.

Featured Replies

A mod like this might actually hurt people who want GTA V to come to the PC, as this will give them less of a reason to port it over.

This is getting media attention but I highly doubt that Rockstar will pay attention.

Hi, sorry for the bump, I just want to give a status update on this mod, I have spoken to the developers and it has been confirmed that the mod is now officially dead (shader issues and LOD issues). But NTAuthority has converted most of the map by himself (as far as I know) and the other mod had 25% of that. This is what one of the developers from "GTA IV Los Santos" said:

I have some amazing news. This mod will be continued, likely as a new mod with a different name, A full GTA5 map conversion to GTA4 will happen everybody! It's being done by NTAuthority It will be a direct port from the console version. That means all shaders will be converted, as well as collision materials and LODs (the reason why this mod was cancelled). Expect more news and some videos very soon.

Thanks for the update!

No problem

I forgot to post the video:

                                       -snip-

NTAuthority's map looks to be even better than the previous port, as the LODs and shaders are being converted too. I can't wait for this to be released!

i am converting gta 5 police peds , but i dont know who made then for san andreas , anyone know?

I was working on a police ped conversion, but it went to shit, (it must have been the conversion tool) the model was corrupt and messed up. Good luck with your conversion Kadu

Another quote for anyone curious

This was merely a test.

NTA does things differently. Whereas tradiotional converting teams would convert each map part seperately, by hand, with programs like 3ds max to get from one format to another. Instead, he makes a converting tool that can process the entire map, at once. So, he creates the perfect tool, and once it's completed he converts it in one go, avoiding the use of any other software, Then the only time it really takes is to add things to the game's archives with OpnIV, that can't be automated.

He's now working on the last part, collisions.

Quote from NTA

I've been planning to post a topic before today; but seeing some unfortunate complications (none of which will be impossible to overcome; it's probably just an oversight in some code I wrote to not need to use large 4+ MB collision files - typical day in reverse engineering for me, I've had projects succeed which were in a worse state) I haven't gotten around to a state where I can provide any sensible progress for such a topic yet.

Forgot to mention the North Yankton Mod:

What I'm wondering is how the GTA V mod will fit into the GTA IV map :/

That issue was discussed earlier, he is working on a tool as well that can break IV's boundary's and limitations

just so you guys know, I'm currently in pre-production stages on a tool allowing a full-size V map conversion on IV without any zfighting/streaming bugs; nothing in screenshots or anything yet so I didn't post a topic anywhere, was intending to announce it on the side of a 3d perspective radar release for IV but as that's being uncooperative due to some oddity in mathematical projections.

The North Yankton one looks much more feasible at this moment in time.  It's a shame that the map is a bit limited though.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

How far is the North Yankton project at this time? That would be perfect for my upcoming ped modification.

In the video description, he said that it should be released sometime around April.

Another video of the north yankton mod this time it is ALOT more polished due to the help of my friend bas, as you can see, i don't know when it will release but sometime in april, i've been harassed and threatened life threats, among other things by people for this mod and gta 5 mod for sometime now so i have to rush release it so expect it sometime in april
