Oh nevermind problem solved. It turns out the process was being used in a different location. Restarting my computer seems to solve the issue.

You could always try this mod

Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks Update the game to 1.0.7.0 Try running the game as admin Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only" Install these: http://www.microsoft...9f-b21f31ab88b7, http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en

Try a fresh installation of GTA IV or remove all car mods if you can. Your computer is good enough to run gta IV. Make sure you don't have anything running in the background.

    So here's what I do:

    1. Openiv and drag out swatpilot.wtd (or something like that)
    2. Rename it to the ped I want (for example tramp.wtd)
    3. Replace. Does it work like that?
  6. Darkray347's post in Freezing up the game was marked as the answer
Disregard previous post. I found the culprit. The map mods are the ones interfering with campaign. I removed em and 4 hrs of non crash gameplay. BUT, now the scripts start "crashing"... Dunno why. It's a simple fix, I just reload a save. Thanks for your time.

Disregard. I installed the Ironman mod and forgot to put in a few folders.

Here are a few POSSIBLE things you could do:

    1. Remove some car mods if you have any
    2. Turn down vehicle density
    3. Trim down the number of scripts you have
    4. Reinstall

Nope, did NOT work. I DO have a good rig right? :/ or maybe I overestimated this computer...?

You may be right, have you noticed that the lcpdfr.ini in the 0.95 version has "PreloadallTextures=True" or something similar to that? Well, the 1.0 version does not. I will try adding that line into the ini. It just MIGHT work :D
