Gta V Police Ai

Something kind of mentioned but glazed over was that the cops use pretty advanced tactics in shootouts.

I went to a grove street controlled neighborhood, killed a gang member (getting about 15 or so people to shoot at me) and then used cheats to summon 6 or so LSPD representatives. They made a V shape with their cars when they responded, all ducked under cover there and took out most of the gang members from afar. One wounded officer was dragged behind a police car by his partner, who then touched his shoulder mic and radioed 'for an RA unit'. A few gang members had gone down a back alley to find me. The officers ran to the front door of their cars, grabbed shotguns (probably the coolest detail) and then moved in a cover-contact (They even called out "Push" "Cover me" "Moving up" when it corresponded to what they were doing) formation up the road to the last gang members. They killed the last guy, but didn't just imediatly drop their stances. The kept moving up until an officer had line of sight on the final perp. He called out "Clear", then everyone dropped the stance and stood around the bodies while the paramedics went to work.

Suffice to say it was awesome.

Did that in Rancho last night.

All that to steal a fully modded car.../sigh AND I STILL DIED GETTING AWAY! -.-

  • Actually, I disagree. Police in GTA 4 doesn't have x-ray vison - I was able to successfully hide from them (I could even see them passing by!). Unless they bring the helis, that is.

  • The thing that I find exciting is, when/if lcpdfr becomes lspdfr we will actually have a cuffing and walking the to the car with cuffs on animations! :D  It's just the little things that make rocksta

  • Oh damn, seeing this makes me want to play a potential GTA 5 "LSPDFR" mod already....

When the player is involved in shootouts, at 3 stars the officers will start using Hand Signals. Pretty realistic, especially since it is still a new concept in Policing (http://www.policemag.com/channel/careers-training/articles/2013/11/movement-to-contact.aspx) Based on what you said, it doesn't look like it happens with AI though.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

Yeah, I was looking for hand signals, but they either didn't happen because of the brevity (the whole incident was probably about 60 seconds long), I didn't notice, or AI won't do it on its own.

Things I've noticed in pursuits are that officers will actually try to ram you of the road.

The nice thing about this is that they actually tend to ruin my escape a lot with this real life method.

Also, road blocks will be called in(Police Transporter), officers will equip vests at 2 stars, air support will

be called in at 3 stars, and the NOOSE will be called in at 4 stars.

I do have to say though, that in my opinion, the police are a little too good at ramming you off the road. No matter what car I'm in, they ALWAYS manage to catch up to me and spin me out real nice.

It doesn't matter if I'm driving a family van or an Obey 9F, cops will catch up in 9 out of 10 cases. Even when I steal a cop car (so I am in the EXACT SAME VEHICLE) and go full speed on an open road, the cops will still catch up to me and ram my car.

You know, at first I also thought "Hey, awesome!", but know I've got the feeling that R* programmed the cops so that they would always catch up with you disregarding the actual speed you are going. Such rubberband AI has always annoyed me in racing games, and now it's probably in V.

Pretty much, they do rubberband, and I really dislike that. The on rails like handling easily allows that to be done.

Not sure if it would be in the realm of possible, but maybe suggesting it to R8 for a patch idea might be an thing to do.

Oh, I knew that...

Wait, what mission? I have finished the game and I do not recall seeing this?

Oh, that mission with the guy named Beverly?

I think I did that one during the day.

Wait was that anim in IV's files? Or was it somehow ported from V?

I'm having a hard time figuring it out as the pic's so dark

Nope, just a lot of trial and error with different animations already in GTA IV.
