Replacing Wanted Ratings....

So I was thinking, in normal GTA, committing lots of crimes will cause the government to respond with deadlier law enforcement, in most games (GTA IV being an exception), even resorting to declaring martial law to kill one person. I was thinking, if in this, how about you have it so, as you solve crimes, you deal with bigger and bigger crimes occuring/how much criminals resist arrest?

Here's my idea:

1 Star: Any criminals nearby will run away from you. They will not fight you unless they're threatened.

2 Star: Nearby criminals will try to fight you now.

3 Star: Criminals will come in with hitmen armed with handguns and melee weapons to try and kill you.

4 Star: More hitmen will show up, this time with SMGs and pump action shotguns. They'll attempt drive-by shootings.

5 Star: Terrorists will show up with assualt rifles, grenade launchers, and other deadly weapons of the sort.

6 Star: The Commies invade! They brought tanks.

By commies I mean 'some foreign army'. If you were going to attack a city like Liberty City, you'd probably want a few tanks.

I will admit that the last 2 are a tad dubious, but it makes sense to me that as you deal with greater criminals, you eventually would get to those 2.

Why in the world does a beat cop have a role in fighting off an invading army? For that matter, how does arresting muggers lead to an invading army?

I think you misunderstand both the concept of this mod and of police-criminal relations.

First, this mod simulates a first responder. You aren't a supercop. Combat is not your main focus. You are an everyday officer working a beat. You make plenty of arrests; you aren't fighting a war.

Also, this mod strives for realism. One of the most fundamental police-criminal things is that the police have greater firepower available than criminals (overall). In some cases, criminals have more firepower than police, but those are scattered cases against one or two cops. Organized crime groups are less likely to go after cops, because killing a cop brings the entire weight of the police down on the group (and the police always win those fights, at least in the US). Large-scale organized crime attacking the police happens rarely.

You're in the wrong forums bud...try ARMAII.  Beat cops would not be fighting a foreign enemy...not as a cop anyhow.

Gotta be like 10-years old to come up with something like the OP suggested.

Is this a joke?

What a terrible idea.

Back on topic- I do think this is a very unique idea, but you are definatley on the wrong forums for the type of mod you are describing. Most of the members here (myself included) like to be at least some what realistic and act as a beatcop doing routine police work.

Please don't backseat moderate - just report a post if you think it infringes upon the Community Guidlines.

Okay, how about a separate mod for those who enjoy chaos and craziness, but definitely not an appropriate LCPDFR addition.
