Public Release (ETA): 08/06/2013

What is it?

This is a simple script that aims to add more function to the default megaphone's found inside the game. This simple mod will allow you to control the scene of an RTC (from external mods) or clear the area as a pursuit roars onto a pavement and the suspect opens fire

For example, let's say you've initiated a pursuit with a car using the traffic stop function on LCPDFR. As you may know, the mod already allows you to use three megaphone speeches that do nothing but just play sound. With this modification however, one press of a button sets of a chain reaction of events.

Cars will attempt to drive away in a panic, pedestrians will run away.

Why make this?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's fed up with the AI leaving their vehicles in the middle of the road after a shootout or even more so, getting in the way of gunfire as they ram into nearly everything as they attempt to get out of the way (although they usually end up with a bullet in them anyways).

How do I activate it?

You don't need to. The script runs from the start of the game, simply choose a skin by using the on duty function with LCPDFR or by choosing a model and voice with Simple Native Trainer.

Controls

At the moment, I've only made the script do one thing (well, three if you want to be specific) when you press Numpad 9

1. Cars in a radius around you will attempt to drive off at speed with the drivers cowering below the dashboard

2. Peds in a radius around you will turn around and run away from you.

3. Play the megaphone speech relevant to your player model (if the skin has one)

This allows for a safe and empty environment for you to engage the suspects as cars won't be abandoned in the middle anymore!

Below is a small video, kindly made by NB to better explain the mod

[Video is on the way, will be uploaded shortly]

Upcoming Features

I've got nothing planned at the moment, I'm still learning how to script (but damn is it fun) but if you've got anything you'd like to see included in this mod such as ordering all pedestrians to a certain spot, then feel free to suggest them below. Please be as detailed as you can.

Release Date

At the moment, there is no scheduled release date. My day's are usually pretty busy now so I don't want to give false hope constantly like some older modification a few of you may remember. The first version will be given to testers in my group soon, which I'll also be re-opening applications for.

I'd also like to give a huge thanks to the following people, without them I wouldn't of been able to even begin to understand the scripting language.

Sam - For describing in detail each function and helping me solve any errors

Abraxas - For providing me with the Pedestrian Functions.

NOTE: NOT EVERY COP MODEL HAS AN AUDIO FILE FOR THIS MEGAPHONE SPEECH, THEREFORE IT WON'T WORK ON SOME MODELS.

It does work on the following (tested):

Black Cop

White Cop

State Trooper

Fat White Cop

Fat Black Cop

If you want to use it on any of the other skins, you'll need to assign one of the above voices to the model via Simple Native Trainer (not included)

Awesome thing!! My only request would be being able to press a button while in pursuit or on callout to make the cars move more out of the way or also the stopped cars (that won't move when they hear sirens) because it's pretty hard not to crash in them if you have heavy traffic that is stopped in middle of road....

If you want my attention, quote me.

The script has now been released to testers in my group after fixing a crucial bug:

- The script would grab your character and apply the affects to him, I.E: He'd exit his car and run away.

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

That bug actually sounds like it'd be fun to watch.

Now if we could get it so it can be used on foot with appropriate speech, that be good, but if we could make it always prevent the peds from abandoning their vehicles in response to gunshots, that'd be awesome (but probably not practical to do).

The script is finished although I'm tweaking it (or attempting to) before I release the beta.

After feedback from my testers, people wanted the cars to pull over so I obliged. The code is there to make them use the taxi's way of stopping (when you hail it) but they still leave the cars in the side of the road. I did attempt to put in a way for the script to stop them doing this, but I'm stuck. Any ideas would be awesome.

If not, I'll release the script how it is and work on another way of getting these vehicles out of the way, possible I could make them turn around or drive off at speed as you probably would if you heard and saw gunshots.

EDIT: If enough people want it, I'll add the ability for the same effects to apply when used on foot.

I think LCPDFR already has this feature. If you press ALT-K (I believe), it uses the Evacuate speech file thing and makes people exit their cars and run away.

Very true, I'll leave the feature to LCPDFR then, I want the scripts to work together instead of mine trying to take all the speech features.

I have however found some very very cool unused audio for some of the cops that could be implemented as different features, one that really stuck out for me:

Thanks for the help, but remember - We're trained professionals

Now if only I could think of a situation that could be used in. Hell, I could just give the player model some more "life" instead of being a mute police officer.

Others;

"You wanna go to jail? Get out of here"

"I'll have the freshest donuts you have"

"Reporting another accident"

I think something could be done with the "Cover Me" speech files, perhaps all police AI in the area could direct their fire to the suspect firing at the player? Hmm. I'll see what I can do with this

Pretty sure it's his first time.

But yeah, having those other unused voices in it would be great. There's a lot of speech in there that make the police seem more tactical ("Cover Me", "I'm going in!", etc); if only GTA IV cops were smarter (GTA V's will be :D)
