Should absolutely not be allowed. I'm adopted and can not imagine having been adopted by a same sex couple. Personally I think it is disgusting that anyone is even considering legislation to codify same sex marriage into law, and even worse that some states have already done so. A "progressive" stance is not necessarily the right one.

I think it should be banned because GOD wanted Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. I'm just going by the Bible.

 

Well, your bible also says that you can't have any tattos, wear gold and certain types of clothing materials. You also can't shave, curse, eat shellfish and pork. Why should you do as the bible says with one thing, and don't give a shit about another thing?

So why does bad things mostly happen to religious countries, and countires with a high atheist population seems to be doing (mostly) just fine?

Some mentioned the fact that gay marriage and gay couples aren´t able to help the human race to grow and to become kids. But when I see the statistics about the earths population That wouldn´t be such a bad thing. I agree to the ones saying it is your decision. Although I´m hetero I think saying people what kind of person they can marry is not adequately (I don´t know if the word is right; no english native speaker ) for the twenty first century. I think that cp702 is right. Lots of people don´t share your religion but you want to decide over them, without seeing the opportunities this thing has. We could become a more modern and anti racist society of people accepting each other over things that are different.

Same here in the Netherlands. I don't know if it's a world wide thing, but crime seems to be raising a lot.

Honestly I don't care too me its not a big deal i just don't want to see it in public.where there are kids running around and then they would start asking there parents questions.But quite frankly we can't decide for them who to date.The way i see it is if there happy togeather why would we try to take that away from them.

The debate so far has been pretty civil, obviously there's people of different beliefs on here so our opinions will vary.

 

I personally can't see why this thread is inappropriate for LCPDFR.com as long as our members stay respectful towards each other, you're not being discriminated against if another user has an opinion that differs from your own.

Where should we draw the line if this is not "lcpdfr.com" material, can we no longer allow members to discuss current events, should we remove the random section altogether and only focus on GTA modding.

 

We shouldn't, this is a part of the community on here, we long ago surpassed what LCPDFR.com used to be, it used to be a place where LCPDFR the mod was discussed, now it's the premier GTA IV Emergency modding site.

And that's why today the Bible shouldn't have any presence and impact in the matters that affect to the society, like is the case of what this thread is about, the gay marriage.

I do not support it nor do I think it is right, but I am not going to put a giant effort into starting a WWIII to stop it.

No, because this is clearly the random forum where just about anything goes.  There are, believe it or not, a number of people that like to express their political views and participate in debate.  Indeed, debate is amongst the healthiest activities any human can participate in - it encourages thought, introduces you to other ways of thinking or looking at something and improves your general knowledge.  

 

We've had discussions and topics centred around gun control, elections, politics in policing, current events and political groups and conspiracies.  In all of these cases there have been many people that have participated in the discussion, therefore clearly there are people that like being able to debate and discuss things other than LCPDFR and GTA modding, myself, a former political science student, very much included.
