In my opinion, I'd say yes to Dodge Charger, Ford raptor, Ford Taurus, Chevrolet Caprice.

And just like that, I stopped reading. That reporter obviously lacks the knowledge and is picking cars he likes.

Many say the Crown Vic is in no way better than the Caprice and the Charger. I believe them.

Well, that *is* kinda the point of a "coolest cars" list...

The point of any list is to usually include statistics or a legitimate way of obtaining the results, I'm not surprised to be honest, it is from Yahoo after all.

Not to mention the CVPI has been in service for countless years and has been praised by LEO's for its acceleration and moderate speed, it just baffles me the guy decided not to include it because "it could only keep up with a doughnut truck" Another stereotype of LEOs.

The Caprice wasn't much faster than the CVPI, and wasn't that much more durable than a CVPI. The CVPI looks better (IMO) as well, so I don't know how it was cool enough to go on the list and the CVPI wasn't.

The Caprice looks like a bathtub on wheels, but it is a good car.

Only 4 of the 10 cars are still *in* service. Most are LONG gone.

Maybe because it's too bland? (not that it's inherently bland, but because it's so omnipresent it just fades into the background)

Has a camaro or mustang like them been made? just curious it would be sweet to have those with added handling lines.

Where is the crown vic? :(

0-60 in 6 second isn't exactly considered high performance. I don't consider any of those cars high performance at all except maybe the Mustang and Camaro. They're slightly above average performance. Argue all you want about the racing chips and all of that, but Crown Vics, Chargers and even the new Taurus SHO are slow compared to a reasonably expensive American muscle car or a European touring/sports car. The biggest advantage cop cars have are the people driving them, imo.

In pursuits, they also have the radio in them. And the helicopters the radio can talk to. And the other police cars that don't have to outrun you, because they're already in front of you.
