Let them release it on PC first ^^ Without too much bugs and with antialiasing if possible.

  • People say that it's because of the Hot Coffee issue, and all the problems R* had after it came to light. However, R* has also supported some mods, hosting videos in their site, and said they apprecia

That would be cool, but I highly doubt that would happened, a lot of people like ''killing people'' in games not ''saving them''.

Not 100% impossible since rockstar created a multiplayer cop DLC for max payne 3 (local justice DLC)

And also in RDR you can play as a sheriff in multiplayer (you can have them as a character model)

I suggested this on a different gta v forum for rockstar to have a police dlc being able to play as an officer and conduct traffic stops and random crimes etc they really need to consider this because normal gta gets pretty boring after awile

We need too show to rockstar since san andreas people whant too be a police officer and fight crime, not just make it. Rockstar must see those and seriously contact the creator of lcpd:fr (sam) and other. We must convice  too have contact with those who create those mod, they have awesome skills. If we all right too rockstar and talk about it maybe they goin too retink and do someting about it.

Making a dlc for playing as a cop and arrest people make it pull over, randoms call etc etc (they make a dlc for GTA 4 they gonna do it again and they can they have too much fan too let down for great idea)

we need too put pressur on them and show LCPD:FR too them or gtapolicemod

if we all reunite we will win

Why would you want it to be a DLC? Wouldn't you prefer for it to be just a part of regular GTA V?

But anyways, it would be awesome!

because it would be a nice fresh breathe of air...gta gets boring after awile when you get 100 percent but policing can play over and over look at how successful true crime streets of la was

Why would Rockstar waste their precious time to implement a feature that only 1% of the whole GTA community would like to have?

^This.

And as for your "skilled" part, no offence to the G17 Media but they do it for hobby. Rockstar have far more experienced scripters rich with resources and official support. They make the damn game, you realize this? Proceed to GTA4Mods and have a look at the videos. You'll find way more videos of them killing people and fooling around and no videos of "saving the world". Hell with even Ironman like mods, they love to perform terrorist activities. Modding community is just 1% of their consumers. The police community is...well...like 30% of that 1%. Now if you were Rockstar....

It wouldn't take that long or much resources for R* to script a cop player into the game's exe.  I mean, it wouldn't take a professional group of coders whom created GTAV very long to make it so you can select a cop and get in the cop car to pull over arrest the bad guys.  A week or two at most maybe?  I'm sure they already have some random ped crimes coded already (city life ambiance), just like GTAIV, so not a huge effort for those guys to make a cop player-ped and allow us to get into a car adn play the cop in "free roam", not rocket science.  They can release DLCs for cop scenarios (scripts) and/or let the modding community go to town on their own.

This sort of game model would allow R* to continue to cash in on the cop DLCs for people whom want them and we can keep seeing new content.  It's a typical symbiotic relationship between the consumer and company, everybody is happy and we will always have new professional content AND modding community content.

That's my $0.02.

What you do not seem to realize is that for most people (including me), GTA has always been about killing people for "fun", not chasing criminals and playing as a cop, even when free roaming.

That.

Noone gives a crap about playing as cop other than the 'few' thousand people here and there and the ones LCPDFR/GPM.

The other millions of GTA players only want to shoot around and do whatever they want on GTA, like uh including myself aswell from time to time. lol

Yes, I do get that 100%!  I love that part too.  What I'm saying is what I already said above; aside from your assumption that 1%-10% wanting to play as a cop, that has no bearing on my point.  I'm not saying get rid of the main body of the game, plotline, or all the reckless killing (the best part of course), my point that I'm trying to express to you is that it does not take much effort, time or money for R* to allow script the free roam mode, and allow us to jump into a cop ped and a cop car, in free roam, and cruise around, looking for peds to arrest.  I'm not saying all the bells and whistles upon release, just the ability to free roam as a cop, an arrest function, ect.

Also, I'd bet more people would be interested in playing as a cop if it was an option.  So the percentage that everybody references is not applicable at all, because I'm just talking about a free roam script to play as a cop, not GTAV The Cop Game.  The beauty of it is that, if R* wanted to expand the residual income a few hundred basis points (at a minimum), they could release really cool DLCs, like they did with TBOGT and TLATD and the cost to implement would be nominal at best.  Added residual profit for very minimal cost to implement = no brainer!
