A New MP Idea

Featured Replies

Hey guys I'm Joey,

Most of you probably have never seen me on here before, but I have been an (quiet) avid LCPDFR fan for quite a while now.

A little about me:

I've been playing GTA:IV for about two years now. It all started with the "Police Pursuit Mod", which I played with for about a year.

I started playing LCPDFR a little over a year ago and was hit with the LCPD bug ;) Its been quite a while since I have played now but I recently got the urge to get back into it ( I guess like Lt. Caine lol )

During the last two years I had taken a little break from GTA and started playing Minecraft. Before long I was running a huge Minecraft//Tekkit server which then transitioned into a Feed The Beast//Mindcrack server. I ran that for about 10 months with some friends, and over that time I learned A LOT about gaming servers, and servers in general. I loved the fact that everyone who wanted to play the game could simply log-on to the server and do whatever their hearts pleased.

Moving on to my idea:

I guess one of the reasons I stopped playing GTA was that I simply got bored of driving around in my cruiser all alone pretending to talk to dispatch, pulling over the same old cars, going on the same old calls.

I understand that many of you on here are in multiplayer clans that arrange dates where everyone in the clan plays online and each player has a certain role.

One of the biggest cons I can see with that is that most of the time people cant all play at the same time due to scheduling conflicts or time-zone differences.

I myself have tried playing online and joining clans but to me it seems all too complicated just for an hour or two of confused playtime.

I stumbled upon http://iv-multiplayer.com/ today and the ideas started flowing through my head. I'm not entirely sure how this works but I do know its not official, so I'm not sure how stable it is.

But hypothetically speaking here, lets just say IV-Multiplayer worked with LCPDFR...

I am pretty knowledgeable with servers and have quite an array of powerful servers located in multiple datacenters that my company owns (https://www.scgservers.com)

Together we could create a server where anyone who wants to join at any time of the day, 24/7/365 can join and play with tons of other people.

No scheduling conflicts to worry about, no dates to set.

We could have set cars, skins and settings that we all agree on so there aren't any crashes and

We could set up a teamspeak server (I currently have a license for 500 users)

My brain is racing just thinking of the possibilities that could come out of this.

I mean think of a world where when you call for backup you ACCTUALLY GET REAL BACKUP!!! and not the kind of backup that comes blazing in at 100mph and rear-ends the shit out of your patrol car messing up the entire traffic stop :(

I can't do this alone so I need everyones help to research and submit ideas.

I'm kind of losing track here since its 1AM where I live and I'm just so excited thinking about what could come of this, if its possible.

So I'm back in the LCPDFR world and I'm here to make a mark. (cheesey haha)

But yeah, so if anyone has any knowledge of this IV-Multiplayer mod post here.

I've always thought about something like this.  The neat thing about the idea is that you can have people who can play the cops, or people who just want to be a non-cop ped and commit crimes as well.  Fairly dynamic situation for sure.

Good day,

DrDetroit

It would take a lot of planning, but I can imagine the result: An awesome experience that you wn't forget :)

RPC3 (my former long lasting community) attempted IV-MP. But as stated above, it's not compatible with many scripts like LCPDFR or PPM for that matter.

Everything needs more lights.

well why cant they script lcpdfr into the server along with a few other things for both cops and people that dont want to play! I mean i wish there were servers like SA:MP. When you have members playing both sides and pulling over and stuff it makes it fun! Only think i hate the most is typing all the time! i rather talk to a dispatcher, or something to talk to the person of interest! this is a really great idea, i think if some of the scripters on here came together and made one for LCPDFR members it could really take off for the better part of us all!

+3 for my vote on this!

I researched a little today about how we could pull this off, but unfortunately I only came up with disappointing results.

I will test some stuff out and post back here.

This has really got me going now! I AM going to make this work, one way or another!

The big question would be if the mod is open source (as an example; LCPDFR is NOT). If it was, G17 Media could potentially code somewhat of a "plugin" for it that servers owners could install at their discretion.
