Actually i have a suggestion. There should be a way to disable or deny ai officers from joining a pursuit. I start to rage pretty hard when im being hit by ai who dont know how to drive or being cut off on a corner, t-boned, PIT'ed, rammed, hit while getting out of my car, shooting the surrendering suspect, and the list goes on and on.....

 

I believe one of the new pursuit options will stop other cops from joining in unless you use the F-key backups.

you can edit their numbers. Right now i need to call for backup as in most zones ive set them to 1 car and 0 ped npc. default is ~12 times that (6 cars 6 peds)

Did you modify the popcycle.dat or is it a setting in the FirstResponse.ini?

 yep popcycle. there are a few out there that have already been adjusted for traffic and peds based on time of day which i highly recommend even if you dont edit anything. i built on that to get my cops and a few other details right. now i am happy!

Wow Sam that all sounds so amazing and am really looking forward to it all :-)

What the team have done towards gta is nothing short of a god send.

Gta IV has been changed for the better since LCPDFR got released.

Also with a lot of add on scripts like Bravehearts policing script and the absolutely amazing police helper script from the outstanding Abraxas is truly a miracle.

You have all kept me so interested in gta and i am forever grateful.

I guess what im trying to say is THANK YOU ALL for all the amazing work that's been provided to us all :-)

Also i know you said in the future, but is there an ETA for the new LCPDFR? Sorry to ask x

I cannot wait for these new features! When I first started playing around with this mod...I was hooked and have been ever since. These new additions/fixes will just make this great mod better!

Now this is over excitement speaking but do you have a more detailed estimate of when we can all expect this great new update?

I am wondering. Is there any chance that the arrest system (or one like it) from 0.91 will be making a come back?

The ability to seat your suspect in your car while conducting an investigation, and then to be able choose whether or not to release them with a summons, or a warning, just adds so much RP value. It's probably the only feature from the earlier versions that I really miss.

I'm hopeful it will be before the end of the month.  I have a few university things to take care of first (one of them being 3000 words about HTML5, yay!) but after that I should get back onto it.  I ran into a few problems which slowed down progress meaning I've got to rewrite a lot of the code under a new design as my old one was a little bit flawed - it allowed you to define custom patterns and export/share them, although the patterns were generic and not vehicle specific.  This cased a problem where if cars had different light set ups, the patterns would need to be different as well.  Essentially, if you have the cruiser using some sort of LED lightbar and nothing else and you have the patrol using another type of LED lightbar yet you want them to have the same sort of pattern, you would have to make two different patterns, one like "WigWag Police Patrol" and the other "WigWag Police Cruiser".  This is fine until you have lots of different vehicles and patterns, as it starts to become a big mess and you would have to cycle through all of them to get the one you wanted if you were changing it ingame.  If the patterns are defined in the vehicle's folder, however, they become specific to that vehicle, meaning that only that car will be able to use that pattern, making things a lot easier to work with.  Obviously with a lot of code to refactor, this is taking a while and its pretty boring stuff just changing the way that the program takes in and stores data.

 

For obvious reasons, I don't really want to go too far into how the custom patterns work, although they are really really powerful.

Sam, really quick question. Will ELS.net read model names and not the game name of a vehicle? Spotlight mods and EVCS seem to use game name, and I run into trouble on vehicles I have set up with game names and model names different, and shared between different cars.

 

Hopefully that's possible.

Seriously, the ONE mod that I know everybody is looking for is a better real siren mod, to add 2 sirens, one to firetruks and one to police, in real life most firetrucks and police sirens are different, such as the federal Q, which is on lcpdfr and is nice, but then you cant use it on a police car, and more realistic sirens with real recorded tones. This is something I know alot of people are looking for. Especially me, I'm looking for ultimate simulation realism, I know its just a game, but seriously, There have been new recent mods that are clever, useful, and I like alot, but hasn't anybody looked at trying to do something with sirens, Please. Also fixing AI traffic would be a HUGELY popular mod. just sayin.

That's not a mod everybody is looking for. In particular, I couldn't care less. Stop projecting your own desires onto everyone.

Fixing AI traffic is so broad and such intense a mod that I'd be shocked if it was even theoretically possible for anyone but a Rockstar employee to do.
