Fun things to do when bored

Featured Replies

What do you all do when you get tired of playing? One thing I usually do before I shut down is I start a chase and then spam the heli support. Its funny to watch all the helicopters run into each other and crash into buildings, but I have unfortantly been taken out by them crashing down on me lol

This is a signature, not a good one, but one that's needed

  • I've always liked to roleplay in video games, so when I'm playing as a patrol officer, I like to take it slowly, and attempt to act realistically. I almost never force callouts or world events, and us

Try installing another mod such as the policing script, the police helper, the k9 script etc, or even other world-crimes scripts like the abandoned vehicle cleanup or the criminal acts script

Try different types of policing, such as ordinary patrol, highway patrol, tactical response, unmarked/drug or gang unit, foot patrol, heli support (not always that fun) or give multiplayer a go.

Multiplayer really opened up a new world for me. I was to the point where I really didn't even play anymore except to test my cars. Now since I started playing online, I play all the time. Its so much fun being able to assist on things and "use the radio". Plus you can do so many more role playing things with real people instead of the AI.

I was acctually just thinking of when I get done playing for the night, I usually like to do something funny or big, like spam the helicopter. Or sometimes try to get a good shoot out going, or heck even go rouge cop on the city. I wasn't acctually complaining about being bored with the game because their plenty of mods that keep it going for me

In that case, I go off duty, and try to get a 5 or 6 star wanted level before my game crashes

Large shootouts with a large amount of backup (police and noose) while on hardcore mode using the first person view mod. That is a true challenge (if you don't crash).

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

I've only done it once, but you can try heli patrol too. You can change your model to the nhelipilot and get into the Annihilatior or regular LCPD heli. After you force duty with LCPDFR, you can try to start pursuits/world event pursuits and work air support while units below chase the car.

Another thing I do is I go to areas around LC where gangs are rampant (Hove Beach, Little Italy, etc). I fire a weapon into the air and have a huge gang war.

Multiplayer is awesome, except I haven't really been able to find a clan that doesn't really care about how much time you dedicate (because I have a life outside of GTA too). I'd still say you should give it a shot though.

Bored of game, never. Im always finding things to do. Imagination, its just a grand thang :P.

Things I may do at times..

- street patrol "foot patrol" (basically park my car in the center of where I intend to patrol and then go out and walk around)

- check alleys for crimes, suspicious activity

- check for "white dots" and help other police officers

- speed traps

- arrest hookers for prostitution

^ just a minor list of things to do when "bored" :)

Do you have a link for the criminal acts script please?

Some things I do when I get bored of responding to callouts:

Prostitution Stings

If I see a prostitute standing on the edge of the road, I'll park up down the road in a unmarked cruiser and cut the engine. All I then have to do is wait until she gets into a vehicle upon which I stop it, arrest her and let the driver go

Random Vehicle Checks

If I still a damaged / suspicious car parked up, I'll pull behind it and switch on my takedowns. I then search the trunk for anything. If I don't find anything, it's usually towed for being parked illegally

As someone above me said, all you need is some imagination

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

It's at GTA4-mods.com in the scripts download area (don't have link handy), made by HippyCommunist (communisthippy...one or the other).  Thing is, your car will get jacked more than anybody else.  Try vehiclecleanupV2, also at GTA4-mods.com, way better crime module.

I go into all the back alleys, dirt roads, and other areas you don't really check while in a cruiser.  It's absolutely amazing how many cool areas are never to be seen except on foot, many I've never even seen before, even though been playing the game for awhile.  GTA4 LC is an amazing place...the details are fantastic.  So is the action...lots to do, lots a AI to bust.

Been using the 1st person mod, and wow.  That is a totally different experience all together as well.  Amazing how a change in perspective changes everything, kinda like life.

thanks I'll get it!

Here is a direct link, but off of gtagarage.com, it is a mod pack which contains the Criminal Acts script

http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=15964

This Criminal Acts script, what does it exactly do? Like, can it be used with LCPDFR to add more of a variety of callouts? That's the main thing that I look for. Although, I do occasionally do a foot patrol and look around for suspicious activity, but Id like a wider variety of call outs. Multiplayer, that always sounded fun to me. I've never tried it. Mainly because I don't know what I need, and my pc is EXTREMELY prone to random crashes that involve 1 of 4 BSODs. But I'm down to try it with you guys. :) lol. It always seemed fun.
